I visit here regularly to service machines in the restaurant and still get a buzz when I hear those jet engines going full blast as they do vertical take offs to let the Russians know we are there when they fly over at very high altitudes. Being a pilot must be the most incredible job, respect to all that protect us.

Great base. I have fond memories of growing up on mere road just before the camp gates. Love going up and just watching the aircraft leaving and returning. Especially when you get a nice visitor like the USAF Galaxy that flew in this Friday gone. Great viewing area behind it called the wave.

Brilliant airshows,pity its no longer on,but if you go to the viewing area,if you are lucky you get to see quite a few aircraft coming in and out.The cafe is reasonabky priced as well

Absolutely love the air base and the air show every year. Always been well organised, plenty of parking and lots to see and do. Massive shame that it has been moved.

Went to the 2014 international airshow great day out for the kids and plane lovers/watchers and i loved the linx display team
