Widow Cullens Well - Lincoln - Photo album

Oldie worldly pub, half way up steep hill (or half way down) set in two levels, selling an extensive range of excellent Samuel smiths Ales, lagers and ciders, offering a menu choice of starters, mains and deserts, also bar snacks,in a cosy, comfortable atmosphere with friendly helpful staff. A no swearing
What an amazing little find, spent an evening chatting to the locals, learning the history and enjoying the amazing Ales and Spirits on offer. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble, definitely worth a visit. We'll be back.
Great little pub. Prices seem reasonable. Don't get your phone out though as you will soon be told to 'kin put that away. Or rather you won't because they have a no swearing policy. Seriously though it's a lovely place. The staff are polite. To food was nice. I will go again next time I am in Lincol
Always liked this pub. Great prices, nice beer and cider. We got told to get off our phones (it's policy and we missed the signs) so we actually had to talk to each other. All pubs should adopt this policy!
Absolutely wonderful pub. Attentive and courteous staff. A variety of ale choices at more than reasonable prices, and the lines are clearly well kept as the taste will show. It's a Sam Smith's pub so you can not have your mobile out, no tablets or laptops, and no cursing. Don't let those rules dis
Great pub, good beer. The no phones rule may seem a bit odd if you're not used to Sam Smith's pubs, but it's a great idea once you get sat down with a pint talking to people. Cheap as chips as well, £2.04 for a pint of sovereign bitter. Staff super friendly, would highly recommend. Been in 4 or 5 ti
Lovley traditional quirky bar. Very clean. Helpful attentive staff and a great landlord. Ended up in this bar not planned but will definitely go back. Excellent prices for wine. Food traditional pub grub at a very good price. Definitely one to visit if your in Lincoln with its traditional ways.
We love this pub, the landlords are great, doing a difficult job keeping on top of the no mobiles/electronic devices rules for the sam Smith's group of pubs. The beer is excellent and sho is the food. A proper pub which encourages the lost art of conversation. Long may it continue
Lovely old quirky Pub, friendly staff, great beer.
A beautiful old building on the steep steps of Lincoln. Drinking only downstairs so you will have to sit upstairs for food. The upstairs is set in the eaves so has a lovely atmosphere and has been tastefully renovated. The food is great value for money. 2 drinks and 2 meals came to £25 only! Being a
Found this lovely gem of a pub in Steep Hill, Lincoln this evening. Good selection of draught and bottled Sam Smith's beers served in the interesting traditional immaculate setting. The landlords Steve my and Karen were so welcoming and pleasant that we stayed for a meal which was freshly cooked and
Very nice and well run pub. Samuel Smith's pub so good quality and reasonably priced Ales were expected and that's what we got. Decent range from blonde, light ales through to a dark stout. I had the stout and it was very nice, well chilled and served in an Immaculately clean glass. It kept the head
Been a regular since I was 18 James and Anna have always been welcoming and very professional landlords I have had many happy times at this pub. I will always associate with good drinks good prices and great company. Thank you for pouring my pints for the last 3 years. You will be missed.
We visit the Lincoln christmas Market every year and having a meal and a few drinks here is always a tradition we enjoy. This year however was the best by far. The pub is under new management and it really does show. There was a warm welcoming atmosphere with very friendly staff and lovely landlord
This is a great atmospheric pub. Watch the ancient well when you go to the toilet. Dont look down. They have a good selection of Samuel Smiths beers. Staff good. Nice in the back yard on a sunny evening. Well worth a visit. One advantage Is the prices. Good all-round pub. Take time out and
I rarely visit pubs and this was my first visit to Widow Cullen's Well. At 6.30 in the evening, when I dropped in with my husband and son, it was very quiet, which suited me fine. There was a good range of drinks, both alcoholic and soft and I opted for and elderflower presse, which was very refresh
