We visited the Old Bakery Restaurant in Lincoln this weekend. It was the first time we had experienced trying a 5 course taster menu and it was excellent. From the friendliness of the staff to the superb food and the accommodation, everything was first class! The menu was explained very well by their very knowledgeable staff and the service was great. The accommodation was clean and tidy. I would be happy to visit the Old Bakery Restaurant again and I would seriously recommend they go along and experience the best, as we did. You won't regret it!

Our second visit to this restaurant, we also booked a room and saved a taxi ride home. Both the food and service are amazing, we had the 5 course taster menu with the accompying wines for a birthday treat. Would highly recommend for a special occasion.

Well what can I say this is by far my favourite restaurant I have ever eaten in, The staff are always friendly but don't hang around you, like in many other establishments, they seem to know when you want service and when you don't! The Sunday lunch is not only fantastic value for money but the menu changes quickly so you never know what you're going to eat so if you are frequent customers like myself you're not stuck with just one boring menu ,it's also great because you have a chance to try foods you probably wouldn't get to try anywhere else and I have never ever had a bad meal there! Last Sunday was particularly lovely with my cod loin and ratatouille starter, my beautiful roast lamb main and my gorgeous poached pear in mulled wine, with the Cranbury and white chocolate delice and a warm vanilla Magdelaine for my desert! Not forgetting of course the amuse Bouche and the lovely home-made bread :-)! Just to give this place five stars, seems like I'm not giving it the full praise it deserves, myself my mother and father all relish the thought of eating there and if I could I'd be there every Sunday! :-) XXX

Fabulous meal, yet again, with exemplary service as usual x We almost had to cancel tonight because of the weather but even driving home from Lincoln to Alford in a blizzard was worth it to eat such fantastic food ! Highly recommended οΏ½οΏ½οΏ½οΏ½οΏ½

My husband and myself were brought a couples experience voucher for Christmas, after much searching we decided as neither of us had visited Lincoln before, we'd redeem our voucher for bed and breakfast at The Old Bakery. It is a quaint little place, with small but adequate rooms. We both enjoyed our overnight stay and slept very well. In the morning we headed down for breakfast where we were greeted by a friendly chef. The breakfast we both had was delicious and we would definitely recommend this well placed restaurant and small hotel to anyone visiting Lincoln for a weekend break

This was our first time at The Old Bakery which was a Christmas gift from our son and daughter in law and we must say we loved all the courses of both food and the wine on the taster menu and we would highly recommend it to any looking for excellence.

We had an excellent overnight stay along with dinner and breakfast. The food is exquisite and well worth the money. The room clean and comfortable and the hosts are welcoming, good company and well travelled. Don't go looking for a five star hotel with all the bells and whistles, what you get here is an experience that cannot be delivered from a chain hotel.

This must be one of the best restaurants in Lincoln. OK, it's a bit pricy, but you get what you pay for. Out of all the steaks I have ever eaten (and I've eaten a lot!) the second best one was here. The best one was in Germany (The Black Forest) and has just got the edge.

Sunday lunch, we were served by James who was excellent. He went to lengths to make sure that everyone was comfortable. He could see that my good lady was struggling with the temperature and moved us to a cooler room that was perfect. The food was amazing, a chicken liver parfait was full of flavor. The roast beef was melt in the mouth and packed full of interesting tastes and we all finished with a beautiful egg custard tarts. Highly recommended, the whole team from welcoming on arrival, creating beautiful food to saying goodbye, we will definitely be back.

I stayed with my daughter at The Old Bakery and we treated ourselves to the tasting menu as a deal package and what a treat it was. The two chefs are at the top of their game. We are gluten free and nothing was too much trouble for them to tweak their menu and ensure we had a wonderful experience the food was a delight. (Good Luck to the Jerky Boys πŸ˜‹) From my first communication with Poppy to staggering out after one of the best meals we have ever eaten everything was brilliant. Poppy is ultra efficient but also accommodating and warm a rare combination. Our room was quirky just what you expect in a building of this age. Everything added to our wonderful break in this delightful city. Many thanks to the Old Bakery team we will definitely be back. Elaine and Jennifer. πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

This could so easily be a five star venue. It's just lacking a slightly better drinks offering and perhaps the deserts let it down a little. But the venue is pleasant and the staff were both pleasant and attentive. The starters and mains were both excellent. A disappointment with the cheese board was to just get a very run of the mill selection of cheeses rather than celebrating some of Lincolnshire's finest.

First visit under new ownership: friendly welcome on arrival. Sympathetic refurb. Love eating in the conservatory on a sunny day - rear door opened for fresh air! Delicious lunch and great selection including Gluten Free options. Very quick to clear empty plates - could be left a little longer, but we weren't in a rush and they weren't busy. Will be back soon to try a Sunday lunch. Highly recommended.

Would definitely recommend the tasting menu. Absolutely fantastic service and the chef seemed very invested in giving us the best experience. The venue was lovely too, relaxed yet cozy. Overall, the perfect choice for celebrating our special occasion and would definitely visit again.

A great place if you want food that is prepared slightly differently with wonderful flavours. The Wine list is quite select and in a range of prices to satisfy most pockets. The service is very very good and any questions are happily answered. No doubt we will return again.

Great service and the food was 100%. Recommend the lamb. Run as a non profit with Lincoln Council - well worth supporting as a local business.

The best meal we have had in an age. Brodie greeted us and looked after our every need. We selected the tasting menu which was fantastic. He explained all the paired wines with skill. Honestly the best service we have ever had. Felt like we were in an episode of Masterchef. The atmosphere and decor of the venue was relaxed but with an air of fine dining, beautiful linens and great glassware. 10/10, would definitely recommend.

Excellent food and the paired wines were spot on! Tasting menu was well balanced and quantity was well judged. We didn't have the optional cheese course but those with bigger appetites would have enjoyed it, I'm sure. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. Smallish rooms but then, it's a very old building and so it's a good use of the space available! Breakfast was delicious and very relaxed as there's a maximum of just three double rooms!

A last minute booking, what a pleasure! Dinner, overnight stay and breakfast. Lovely atmosphere. We stayed in room 3 it was quirky, comfortable, we loved the added extras like homemade cookies and enjoyed a bubble bath in the spacious en-suite. Walking distance to the city centre, perfect for a visit to the shops, bars and restaurants of Lincoln, but be sure to have at least one meal here to enjoy a fine dining experience. Only downside is we wanted to stay longer!

Just stayed one night. Concerned that the room we got (1) didn't have en-suite, however it does have a private bathroom. Robes provided. Clean and tidy, nice sheets and pillows. Coffee facilities and big TV. A bit small, but adequate. Suited our needs.

Went for Sunday lunch, really good value for money at 24.95 for three courses. I had soup, beef and chocolate delice, my partner had mackerel, venison and the banana pudding and a cheeseboard. The bread was tasty and the amuse boucher was okay. The soup was great, velvety and nice flavour, the mackerel starter was a big portion and the skin ok the fish wasn't torched but that was a minor fault. The beef brisket was soft and delicious, the portions were good sizes. Roast potatoes not very crispy but good flavour. The venison main was slightly misleading on the menu as it mention a sweet potato cake and it wasn't expected that the venison would come incorporated into the cake, it wasn't to my taste personally. Both desserts were delicious! We also took a toddler with us and they were very accommodating to say it doesn't give the vibe of being suitable for young families as they do not supply high chairs but we had no problem taking our own. The venue itself was lovely, cozy and full of character and then staff were attentive and thorough.

Just had a lovely meal at The Old Bakery. The braising beef was like cutting butter, so tender. Service was friendly and attentive.

Best meal we've had so far! They were so accommodating with our dietary requirements. I had the beef as the main, it was out of this world. Tender, and tasty. Just a perfect meal to celebrate a birthday and 60th wedding anniversary.
