Love eating at this place food always fantastic, staff always friendly and helpful can't do enough for you.
We stayed for their accommodation & tasting menu package, we've been before and were not dissapointed, fantastic food and service, the hotel is a great base to tour the East Cornwall/West Devon area, will be coming back again, even in the rain it's perfect
Amazing food and service. We ate in the hotel bar and would recommend the scallops as a starter my children also ate and really enjoyed the food
I stopped for a charge at one of the hotel's Tesla superchargers on my way to Cornwall. Enjoyed a lovely breakfast with friendly and attentive staff.
Husband and I stayed for 2 nights and had tasting menu on second night. The whole package was fantastic from the reception, the room, the atmosphere and then the food whether breakfast, Brassiere or tasting menu - superb. Thank you. Looking forward to returning.
We enjoyed a fantastic night, with the 5 course taster menu and a night in the hotel. Service was fantastic all staff so friendly and attentive, the room was light and spacious, with a very comfy bed! We will be back! Thankyou!

Absolutely first class stay at The Arundell Arms Hotel. Gorgeous room, spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed and all facilities excellent. Breakfast was delicious with wonderful choice. We felt very welcome as soon as we arrived. Highly recommended. Faultless.
The setting, service and food were first class.
My wife and I went for our anniversary, the staff were very attentive . The service was excellent. We sat in the bar while we looked over the menu, which had a lovely choice of food. We ordered our food and after a short wait was shown to our table. The food was excellent. A complimentary glass of champagne arrived at our table for our anniversary. Will return again soon.
We drive past often but the proximity of this grand old building to the road masks it's inner air of elegance. We went for a simple meal in the restaurant and it had a feel of bygone grandeur to it, drinks in the lounge to order and taken to the table a few minutes before the food was ready. You can eat in the bar, but try the restaurant with its high ceiling and lit candles on every table. Simple menu with a good spread of dishes, veggie and gf included and prices no higher than a good pub. Nice terrace, we'll be back
The service is first rate as is the food and ambiance generally. We have stayed here several times en route to our holiday home in Cornwall. It never fails to impress. The owners are very much hands on - very noticeable and appreciated
Another fabulous stay at the Arundell Arms. Jess, Luke, the breakfast ladies and the entire team make any stay here a delight. Delicious breakfasts and supper, the wine list was enjoyed and our bed was so very comfortable. Had a day on the river, all was super.
Thank you again to Simon and Arabella for running this institution and we will be back soon.
We were running out of options late on a Sunday. This place was kind enough to allow us a table just as service finished. Thanks to the staff and especially to the chef who said we could order. The food was fantastic. One of the best caesar salad we’ve ever had. Highly recommend.
Had a fabulous one night stay at the Arundel hotel for work. Actually shown to my room, I can't remember the last time that happened. The food was superb. The room was a little tired in places, but still fine. The fantastic staff were the highlight, nothing too much trouble. Will stay again if I'm ever that way working in the future.
The Arundel is a sporting hotel in deepest Devon, owning miles of fishing rights in surrounding beautiful countryside. Maintaining the beats costs money that can't all be put against fishing licences so the hotel rates are a little pricier than one might otherwise expect. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The kitchen team produce quite exceptional food, breakfast, lunch and dinner including vegetarian and vegan choices. The rooms are comfortable if not exceptional although they have an eccentric idea that residents shouldn't watch TV in their rooms rather they should listen to a Roberts radio. We did ask for a TV and got a tiny one, enough to watch the news. No real ale in the bar but there are other pubs in the village. We went for a couple days, including two half days tuition and had a really lovely time. Highly recommended.

I’m not even sure where to start. So I’ll start with a little context: I wanted somewhere special to take my wife for our 5th wedding anniversary. We have had a harder time than most in the last 5 years. Involving loss, a separation, financial problems and mental/physical health issues. I’m not a huge romantic, and my wife will tell you the same! But I wanted to make sure this was as special as I could make it with a small touch added to our evening meal. I had a good idea to take a wooden bowl (5th anniversary is wood) with flowers in the centre and chocolates around the edge. The staff member I spoke to was more than happy to oblige and said he would have a table ready for us when we returned.
When we came back at our booked time, the server gave me a little nod and didn’t give anything away. We were took through to the restaurant area to our table. It was set up lovely, right in front of the window which was a great spot. My wife was so happy with the gift I’d arranged earlier. And we were both surprised when a server brought over a complimentary glass of bubbly each! Totally unexpected and it was a very nice touch. The servers left us while we looked at the menu. The menu is a perfect size with not an overwhelming amount to choose from but still enough for every taste. We continued on and ordered some drinks and our food while we sat and reminisced about our wedding.
I ordered the venison and my wife had the chicken. The wait was neither too long, nor too short and the food itself looked incredible! A nice amount and perfectly presented (I must stress here that I was a chef for many years) that could compete with a top London restaurant. My venison was cooked absolutely spot on and was easy to cut and tasted delicious along with all the trimmings. My wife’s chicken was tender and juicy and just melted in the mouth. A meal check was done at a good interval and they were happy to leave us to enjoy our meal. The plates were empty before long! Moving onto dessert, I have the Arundells own bread and butter pudding with pistachio ice cream. And my wife had the Banana parfait. Again, the presentation was excellent and the portion size was good. The taste of both were to die for and we were both extremely happy.
But the staff were not done there, following our dessert, a server approached with a plate saying it was a gift from the kitchen. They had wrote “Happy Anniversary” in chocolate on a plate with a piece of delicious fudge each! Which went perfect with the coffee my wife had ordered (damn nice coffee too!) It was a perfect and unexpected touch to end a perfect evening. We felt very valued as customers and the staff were also happy to chat whilst we were paying.
We are local to the Arundell so I think we may have just found our new restaurant for special occasions.
Thank you to all the staff, front and back of house, who went the extra mile to make our day end perfectly.
Stopped here by chance to charge our car on the way to Cornwall, had a lovely meal so stopped on our way back up too. So much better than a service station, fabulous food, great surroundings and a fast charge
We’ve eaten here for three nights in a row. Every dish has been utterly delicious, with some of the best meals we have had for a long time. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Amy who really made us feel welcome and was great fun!
