Went to Ego’s restaurant for pre-theatre meal & drinks. Food was delicious & well presented, service was polite & efficient, nice views of the lake & cathedral. Took advantage of the 2 cocktails for £13 great value. We will definitely be going back.
Lovely restaurant located at the edge of the town near the Cathedral, some of the seating overlooks Minster Pool. Lovely atmosphere and the staff are friendly and helpful. Food is delicious and not too badly priced, good vegetarian choice too. Easy access for wheelchair users. Strongly suggest booking ahead online as it does get busy, you're unlikely to get a table just dropping by - especially on a Friday/Saturday evening. Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed.
This place was truly amazing. As me and my friend walked in we was told it was full (and this place is huge) but there was one high stool table next to the bar available which we had. It was overlooking a lake. Beautiful scenery. Staff were so attentive to detail, the menu had so many tantalising options but eventually we opted for paella and the kebab special. Both were absolutely amazing. We really can't wait to re visit. It was definitely worth the 30 mile trek down 👌
Ego Mediterranean restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. Located in the heart of the city, this restaurant is known for its amazing food and great ambiance. Though we hadn’t reserved the place we were greeted with warm and friendly staff and made our dining experience memorable. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully decorated which creates a relaxing and inviting atmosphere.
Amazing service. Fantastic staff and a lovely atmosphere. We didn't book but they squeezed 3 of us in, and glad they did as the food was spot on. Everything made fresh to order and was lovely. Highly recommend. Of course book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Fantastic place, food and service. Keep up the great work guys. Our new favourite
Fantastic venue for our family meal. Food was delicious. The service was second to none. Very efficient and timely. Great atmosphere. This was our first visit but we will definitely return in the near future.
Went for a meal on a Sunday late afternoon early evening prior to going to the theatre . Quite busy with a great atmosphere. Was warned that food wait was thirty minutes which was fine with us and nice to be told at the outset . Staff were great. Friendly and efficient. Food was excellent. Such a nice choice . My wife had the Moroccan Lamb and I had courgette and sweetcorn fritters . Only slight query I had was the fritters were lovely being crispy but the salad dressing was popped on top of them which defeated the object of the whole fritter idea but still tasted yummy
Would highly recommend and definitely go again
Lovely location was seated right by the window, lovely views.
Service was prompt staff were all friendly and attentive
Food was lovely the paella was great and reasonable portion
Cocktails were reasonably priced too would go back
Every year we come to Ego to celebrate our birthdays, which are 4 days apart and we’re never disappointed. Food was excellent as ever, pate, goats cheese, pork, ribeye steak and Eton mess, perfect. The only issue I have is we were booked for 2pm and I wanted to change the booking for 2:30pm, however, I phoned 6 times and got the answer machine saying that I called at a busy time and it’s best to call between 9am and 11am, that didn’t help as it was 1pm. So I had to cancel the reservation and then re-book for 2:30pm so we could be accommodated at that time. When we got to the restaurant the place was pretty much a quarter full, all at the far end of the restaurant so calls could not be heard at the front desk as you walk in. This did not effect the visit, very happy with the food.
We had just visited a escape room in Lichfield and headed to town after the restaurant Ego was recommended and I must admit we were under dressed as everyone showing up had booked for a event happening so 🤷 however we really enjoyed everything about this place atmosphere, super friendly service, and the food was perfectly cooked great portions and very much worth the money very tasty food. 10/10
We paid 92£ but 100£ after tip ,
We ended up with 2 drinks , hummas and pitta, garlic bread & 3 mains ( my partners a foodie and can eat alot. ) seabass then he had spaghetti carbonara and hanging meat. We worth would definitely recommend.
Absolutely spot on, had a lovely evening.
Service was excellent Nicola was brilliant, she looked after us through out.
After a hard day at work we sat down and offered a drink straight away perfect!
Order was taken and fulfilled. Food Served piping hot and delicious.
Our family look forward to visiting Ego in Lichfield again very soon.
Back again, and great food as always. The steak was better than I expected and the calamari was great! I enjoyed the Camembert bites and the chocolate tart as dessert.
The only thing (which is down to personal taste) is, I would strongly advise against the caramel martini. It just tastes like something is off but I think it’s the Disaronno that doesn’t balance well in the cocktail.
You can’t go wrong with ego for a relatively casual meal out. Be sure to book ahead as it does get extremely busy and especially at peak times I doubt they could accommodate walk-ins.
Lovely place to go for a meal. Great for big group bookings. Food is fairly priced. I had a lovely steak and the started was delicious. I knock on star off not because it was bad but if this place had a bit of music going or even a bit of live music it would be such a big hit. Overall tho is a must try if your visiting lichfield
Delicious food, so glad we found this place before we returned home. We had Moroccan falafels and Moroccan lamb.
Amazing place, beautiful view. Such a delicious dinner. Highly recommended!!!
