I've been coming to the Ruby with my rather sizeable family for several years now, it's our favourite place to come for a big family meal and we always really enjoy ourselves. Today we went and it was my first time going as a vegan, I was worried because I usually ate a lot of meat there before and wasn't sure what I would have to eat. I thought at best I would have to pick veg out of the dishes we ordered and I would have a bowl of boiled rice. I was so pleasantly surprised by how accommodating the kitchen and waiting staff were to my dietary needs and they made me a beautiful vegetable soup, and fried vegetables to start, followed by a lovely vegetable and garlic dish with rice. The portion size was perfect and I enjoyed every bite of the meal, without feeling like I was missing out on anything. Everyone else said their meat dishes etc were (as usual) wonderful and everyone once more had a great time! �
My daughter's 16th today we celebrated at the Ruby ..absolutely fantastic service food excellent.. and the staff were so lovely and made her birthday a brilliant night .. highly recommend.. can't recommend enough �Thank you to the whole team �

I love taking groups of friends as well as groups for business meals here it's just such a comfortable atmosphere. Fantastic upbeat staff along with brilliant food. For a place as good as this expect slight delays in busy periods. Remember the best things come to those who wait.
The food was fresh and piping hot. The service was great. One if the waiters had a great sense of humour.
Celebrated Chinese New Year here on Saturday, food was superb, service excellent and oh that Unicorn Dance was epic. � will be back again soon
Found this place completely by chance. Absolutely brilliant value, staff are amazingly attentive and the food is beautiful. If you're in and around the Litchfield area, you need to go.

Have to say the food was excellent from stater to main at a very reasonable price (under £40 for two people).The only gripe was the waiters constant comment that "It is very busy tonight" when there was a delay with your meal/drink.
Very nice, menu good. Prices average, like one of the many news stories on the wall say, it's a tardis.
The Ronseal of Restaurants!. The stalwart of chinese restaurants in Lichfield, this place does exactly what is says on the tin! Others come and go but this place will outlast them all. Nothing flash, but nothing bad either. Pleasant atmosphere and all the basics of chinese food done right.
Love this place. Unlike many places the takeaways are also cooked to the same high standard as an eat in. A real old favourite that never let's me down
Very popular with locals as location is within town and near other bars and theatre. Good food in a medium price band. No private parking so you may need to walk a short distance.
Lovely authentic food, extremely friendly and accommodating people. Sunday's all you can eat buffet is very popular as well.
Tasty takeaway - really fair price if you go in and collect. Fast preparation too - the food was ready for collection when I arrived within 20 mins.

Two of us made a first visit here on Sunday 20th August 2023: from the street frontage, the premises outwardly appear tiny, but do not be fooled - upon entry, you are warmly greeted and accompanied into a rather long, narrow, yet spacious and attractive dining gallery of low ceilings, muted lighting conveying an intimate atmosphere, and to a given choice of table.
Insofar as Sunday dining options are concerned, first-time visitors like ourselves were initially confused by two 'Set Menu' choices running concurrently - a 'Sunday Banquet' or, for a further £4.00, an 'All you can eat' option. The subtle variance between these is:
SUNDAY BANQUET: a myriad of Starter/Main/Dessert options allowing the chance to sample ten different dishes across this range, only one of which is a Dessert.
ALL YOU CAN EAT: a perfect choice if you haven't eaten in two weeks and want to explore every possible taste available, have an addiction to a particular choice of dishes, or simply want to 'Pig out' - you have a two-hour limit to do so.
We took the 'SUNDAY BANQUET' option - and were not disappointed in the least. Initial Side Dish of Prawn Crackers and dip aside (we tactfully avoided eating this until we could actually see the portion size of following offerings), subtly-sized portions appeared thereafter that gave us a very enjoyable and varied tour through the Chinese and Cantonese 'World of Food,'
Our choice allowed us to thoroughly enjoy a new culinary experience in the company of a very personable, friendly and amusing Head Waiter/Manager - but left us sufficiently satisfied, and didn't overindulge either of us to a level of discomfort afterwards.
We will certainly return again, possibly on a weeknight when things are quieter - but full marks for a great evening guys!

Always love a take away from here. Rainbow rice was very tasty. Chicken ball and sweet and sour delicious. So many I had some left for the next day. Complimentary prawn crackers.
The food, service and wine choice are excellent here. A great team effort and we were very well looked after. I’d recommend the prawn dishes, and the set meals had far too much food for the six of us!
The absolute best crispy chicken I had since I came back from Shanghai 5 years ago. This was really fantastic and I recommend it gladly to anyone who loves authentic Chinese food.

Great food, great service. Went to the Ruby with a friend last night, and had the all you can eat menu, and everything was delightful, fresh and tasty. Great staff too.
Four of us visited the Ruby and chose the menu for 4 people. The food was very good as well as the service . We were not rushed and the starters and main meals were served at a steady time and you could tell it was freshly cooked.
