We had our wedding at the George Hotel on 4th May. From start to finish they have been exceptional. Easy planning with the very helpful Abbie, and the day itself was amazing. Everything ran smoothly and all the staff were attentive and friendly. A special mention to Alan for being super calm and friendly at all the right times. We've had loads of comments about how lovely the venue and the food was. I would highly recommend the George Hotel as a fantastic place for holding a wedding.
My mom and dad booked a carvery meal for 20+ people to help celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. We had a fantastic time. The staff were very attentive, polite and extremely helpful. Nothing seemed like too much trouble at all. The food was delicious and for the cost, was extremely good value. My aunt, who needed a gluten free diet, was extremely well catered for; the majority of food was gluten free and she was offered a good selection. All in all, a fantastic time was had. I thoroughly recommend The George Hotel from my own experience. I would definitely return, should i get the chance.
We went on Friday night for a friends birthday. The service was exceptional. We had a free glass of proscecco with our meal. The duck starter was lovely and the chicken in Madeira and mushroom sayce was delicious. The good was piping hot and served in a timely manner. Excellent night I will definitely go back.
A great hotel. Comfy and cosy rooms. We enjoyed our meal in Darwin. The lamb was superb. Waiting staff great. An easy check in/out with good staff. Only thing, the patio heaters were not switched on.
The location is ideal for all attractions of the city. A most enjoyable stay.
Fabulous place, great staff, lovely city... whether it’s for a quick drink, a carvery or a party night, you will have an excellent time!
I went for afternoon tea with my daughter and son yesterday it was amazing plus you could select your sandwiches by phoning before you go we were also served by a lovely waiter called Tony who really looked after us would definitely go there again and recommend it
This was one of several meals we have had at Darwins, The George. The staff are always very welcoming and eager to please. The menu is varied, always something a bit special. After a great dining experience we always enjoy taking our coffees in the comfortable lounge areas in the bar. We will be back .
Excellent car park. Brilliant effective Staff. Room was perfect. Everything worked. Quiet room. Central location. Amazing breakfast.

We chose The George Hotel in Lichfield as our venue for Ben and my wedding on 17th August this year (2017) and we couldn't have made such a better decision; they accommodated our every wish for our special day, from our own welcome drink which meant a lot to us, to decorating the suite exactly how we wanted for each the ceremony, breakfast and reception.
We'd like to say a huge thank you to all the staff who helped out on the day (who were polite and made us feel like royalty) but a special thank you to Abbie who helped us in the run up to the day and Tim who ran the day exactly as we wished. He couldn't have been more helpful; everything ran like clockwork and was always there if we needed something. Everything was perfect and expertly organised and we couldn't recommend them more to our friends and family.
The food was delicious throughout the day and everyone commented on how organised the wedding breakfast was, all of our guests rooms (including ours) were extremely clean and beautifully decorated - a good night's sleep was had!
