Lovely pub. Friendly vibe, chilled atmosphere, excellent beer on keg and cask... and bar snacks are yummy. We’ll be back. Oh and friendly resident pub dog too
We stayed in Lichfield for six months and found the pub very friendly the staff knowledgeable in their range of drinks, their cheese platter are excellent. We have since left Lichfield but we had to come back to our favourite pub and will keep coming back
Lovely friendly little pub serving a variety of craft ales and ciders. Let hubby try an ale before buying s pint. Free snacks if sausage rolls provided on a tray on the counter. Nice atmosphere, got busier as the night went on . Very popular place, worth a visit.
Just popped in for a pint and was delighted. A traditional pub and a great punt of Joules Blonde. Service was friendly and would not hesitate to return when I'm back in the city of Lichfield.
What's not to like, great Joules ale on tap, guest ales and some really rare bottled beers, endless varieties of quality Gin, steeped in history c1719 established with nooks and crannies you'd expect from such a great pub! Hard pushed to beat and maybe no.1 in Lichfield which is hard for me to say with the great Duke of York included in that statement! Give it a try & enjoy 🍻👌
Great place! Amazing gin menu, friendly bar staff! Cheese board is the best!
One of our favourite pubs in town. Lovely atmosphere at all times of the day and even better that it's super dog friendly. The dog gets treated better than us! Excellent opening roof for summer so don't be put off by the no beer garden as it's lovely!
This is our favourite pub, a real pub with good beer and nice food with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff, great job.
Such a friendly bar. Fantastic choice of gin and vodka. Great atmosphere. Will return very soon this is my new favourite Lichfield place

Popped to Lichfield for some shopping and had a pint of cider which was delicious and my friends had a pint of green monkey each which they thoroughly enjoyed. Staff were really friendly
I was lichfield just for visit my dentist and wanted to have little fun in there town. So I found here really warm and nice with a cup of perfect cappuccino. The smoking area was so beautiful.
Joules brewery pub, with a small sample of their range. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
I love relaxing in this pub, it's got a certain ambiance. Not really sure what it is. No TVs helps maybe..
What a wonderful place the
Staff are so welcoming and always with a smile we had the cheese board and pork pie and wow could not fault it.. perfect
Always a great night at the angel at the weekend, with either A DJ or a band to entertain. Not the biggest pub and can be a bit snug, but good beer, some good snacks like pork pie, sausage rolls etc. And good service.
Really lovely oldy world pub, with a great atmosphere and good music.
The drinks were reasonably priced and beers were well kept.
Much like the Cooper's Tavern in Burton, this is an immaculate real ale pub. Fantastic choice of well kept ale. Proper pub food options. Sympathetic, traditional interior. A quiet Tuesday night, the young lads on the bar were very helpful, not fiddling with their mobiles, ensuring the pub looks well cared for. Joules Brewery clearly know how to run a decent boozer. Visiting Lichfield, like decent pubs and great ales? Look no further....
Great bar with a good selection of drinks; a friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices.
There's live music on some nights too.

The Angel Inn is a solid traditional pub in Lichfield city centre, affiliated with Joule's Brewing. The company's beers are advertised in many different forms all over the pub and; unsurprisingly, almost all of the beers on tap are from that same brewer (Joule's Pale Ale, Slumbering Monk, Pre Blonde, etc). The décor is very familiar (all dark wood, intentionally kept rustic). The medium-sized pub is divided into several different niches, and there's a small smoking/vaping area to the side. It's very appealing if you dig this traditional style. The barman on my visit was friendly enough, the beer I chose (Ludlow's The Boiling Well) was fresh and tasty. Nothing truly special about The Angel Inn, but it's certainly a fine place to hang out for a couple of pints if you want to avoid more modern brew pubs like the nearby Brewhouse & Kitchen.
Excellent service and excellent staff 👏 the drinks were fantastic and the wife especially loved the jaffa cake Gin 10/10👍🍺🍻🍸
I always like going here when having a few drinks in Lichfield. Beer is well kept with a good selection, staff are polite and it has a great atmosphere.
