Way better food than expected, had the fish and chips it was huge. Whoever is in the kitchen definitely knows how to cook battered fish, batter was perfect. Staff were attentive and the decor was really nice, toilets were really nice and clean too. Plenty of parking and a nice beer garden where you could eat outside if you wish. A great experience all round, thank you.

We visited The Nelson on Saturday and had a great three course meal. We have visited a few times previously but sat in the bar, this was the first time in the restaurant. The food was amazing with generous portion sizes. Especially the fish and chips, which is always a whale! Looking forward to visiting again!

Absolutely adore this pub. We are not local but have visited a few of times now as we have family in the area. The food is always outstanding. There is a good variety on the menu and the food is cooked to perfection. We have dined in the restaurant, in the bar and outside in the summer - we just love this little gem of a pub! The staff are always extremely welcoming and friendly. The pub has a great atmosphere all throughout the day and evening. Everyone should take a visit to The Nelson Inn, you won’t regret it!

My husband booked us in for dinner in 29th September and I can only rave about this place since. I had the best steak I’ve ever had in a restaurant in the UK - perfectly cooked to my liking and my husband had the pork. The service was fantastic and service was great. They couldn’t do enough for you. Will definitely be our go to place for meals out from now on and we’ll be taking family there whenever we go out. The atmosphere was fantastic too. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thanks Ed and I want to take the chef home 😊

Best meal out I’ve had in years. I don’t particularly enjoy eating out as most of the time I’m disappointed by meals I can make at home myself that are much tastier. The Nelson Inn though was a very pleasant surprise. Very tasty, obviously made with excellent ingredients and served at the correct hot temperature. Superb staff and good ales. Not cheap but week worth the price. Every meal our table had was off the same quality and superb taste. Well done The Nelson.

Nice place. It seemed popular and was busy when we visited. The food was great. My steak was well cooked, they weren't afraid to cook it nicely rare. Personally, I could have lived without the dance music in the dining room.

This was my 3rd visit to this exquisite country Inn. The staff are very professional friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is excellent. Comfortable and relaxing. The food is truly at another level so massive accolades must go to the kitchen team. A great selection of drinks and a beautiful garden area the nelson has it all. I would do and will recommend to all I know. Thank you for 3 great visits and thanks in advance for many more to come

We had such a lovely drink here on Mother's Day. Very nice to see the pub has had a bit of a makeover since we last went and it looks amazing inside. Drinks were well priced and service was okay, the youngsters serving on the bar all looked tired from a long day. Outside is amazing for children, it has a play area with benches for families to sit on and they have a massive field with goal posts with an included football. This is a great location for families to eat and bring their kids. Great location to walk too and the outside was kept clean and well presented at all times. Music was a little loud out there but was okay when more people were chatting away. Very impressed with this little place!

Absolutely brilliant experience at this restaurant. We went for our work Christmas party and we pretty much tried every single item of the menu. I am attaching some photos for people to see. The camembert was a big hit as a starter with us and every single dish was not only very tasty but also very tastefully presented. I had the beef and I cannot recommend it enough. The Christmas pudding was really nice too however the chocolate log was absolutely amazing as well. The staff were ever so helpful and accommodating and always had a smile on. On arrival we found on our table little Santa hats and various festive head bands which was a lovely touch on behalf of the management. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be going back for seconds.

Went for first time last night, for a meet up with old friends, one of whom has been diagnosed with Parkinsons disease, so we were looking for a pleasant evening with good food. We definitely found both, the staff were all young, they were both attentive and very friendly, always smiling and happy to have a joke. The food was incredible, we all had something different from the main courses, and we all wiped the plate, apart from my friend who wasn't able to finish the huge fish in batter, which nevertheless was because of his disability, not the food quality. My wife also struggled with the sizable Pork main, but the remainder was put into a plastic container to take home. Puddings were also very good, only tiny thing was that the chocolate brownies were just a little dry, but still nice with ice cream, the other desserts ranged from crumble to profiteroles, all went down well. Coffee to follow, and including a few drinks we paid £30 each, which for the quality of the meal we felt was well worth it. Definitely recommend, and will be going back as soon as possible even though we're not local. Well done all at the Nelson....

The food was recommended to us here and we weren't disappointed. Delicious food and good service. We visited without a booking on Saturday 17th June and the friendly staff accommodated us. We will definitely be coming again
