I cannot fault this restaurant, everything we ordered was impeccable. Highly recommend the ceviche options especially, you will not be disappointed. Everything was made to perfection. Our host Dmitri was very knowledgable on all the dishes and we trusted his recommendations. Leave room for dessert. Wow wow wow!
Lovely place, simple but cool decorations. Food is excellent, I've been twice and loved all dishes, especially the ceviche. Cocktails are pricey but worth it.
Have wanted to eat here for ages, it didn't disappoint. The ceviche is delicious. The tostados were so fresh, we wanted more. The lamb was tender and melted in our mouths. The cocktails were strong and well made. Service is impeccable. Cannot wait to go back and try more on the menu. A little gem in Leyton x
If your looking for great sushi then Bamboo Mat is worth a visit.
A decent variety of sushi plates that were delicious and nice not having to go to far into London to dine.
Very friendly staff. We didn't like the menu on your mobile as you have to scroll and enlarge to get the full list. Lots of amazing flavours and textures, a delight in every bite. Definitely planning to go back.
We were looking for a place to eat (sushi) around Leyton and we found this restaurant. We were greeted by Dennis who was amazingly knowledgeable in both Japanese and Peruvian cuisine. He let us tried house Soyu, pickled wasabi (fresh and grade A) Peruvian corn that pops ouside-in, ect. All very fascinating if you're a foodie person! We went for his suggestion and wow every menu was a hit. We ordered Sake aburi nigiri ,Wagyu nigiri and fermented yellow tail in Peruvian style sauce as starters. It was so fresh and tender they just melted in your mouth. We could just tell that they care so much about the quality of every ingredient. As main we had grilled octopus on lintels and lunch rice bowl (sorry forgot the name of it). The octopus was so fresh and soft, gently marinated and light grilled. The rice dish has a mix of chopped maguro and salmon with unagi sauce. Very well balanced in terms of portions and flavours. The ambiance was upbeat and made you feel like you were in the city whilst it was just around the corner. After an opening complimentary glass of Prosecco which was floral and light, we ordered a Mud house along with the meal and it was a perfect combination. I normally don't care for desserts but I thought, why not? Well, good thing there is one on the menu, which save me time deciding. So, Cheese cake it was and boy it was just right. Not too big, which I like. Topped with fresh raspberry and passion fruit. Just yum! I would definitely go back again and recommend anyone to visit. 5 🌟
After living in Peru for two years; and working in food it’s been incredible to find a place that really tastes like Peru, and this is it. The ceviche was mind blowing and Dmitri, our waiter was so knowledgeable and passionate about the food. A really special place in the area. I can’t wait to come back!
Amazing experience visiting this Japanese /peruvian restaurant 😍friendly and professional staff. Food was delicious and drinks were on the high level. Definitely will come back to enjoy. I will advise to book a table in advance as is always full , especially in weekends.
A fab addition to the local dining scene! Standout dishes were the wagyu beef, cevice hot maki and the crispy mozzarella maki. Unusual flavours, beautifully executed. Quite pricey though, definitely a treat meal!!
Having read quite a lot of reviews, we didn't know whether Bamboo-Mat would live up to the hype. It certainly didn't disappoint. The maki was fresh and tasty, the mains were flavourful and the gambas fritas came with a delicious sauce. The atmosphere was laid back and cosy, but also elegant and fun. The service was also very friendly and professional. Can't wait to go back!
