Having discovered this place about three years ago it amazingly has never disappointed! The beers are excellent and super well priced(some for £5.50 a pint) considering it’s some of the best craft beer in the UK. It’s always well staffed and you never wait long at the bar. The food options they have are always super tasty and varied so you rarely come across the same food van unless you are there every week.
Wish this place was my local.
One of my favourite breweries so was super chuffed to get a chance to sit outside in glorious weather and drink their amazing IPAs and Pale Ales. Great taproom.
Without a doubt the absolute highest bar at which craft beer should be judged, not just locally or nationally but globally. So good that not only had we driven three hours to visit but another couple had driven six!
The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and downright brilliant in every way. Their support for, and collaboration with, other breweries and beer spots shows a genuine passion that goes beyond just being a simple brewery and taproom.
The seating areas are comfortable and communal enough to meet new people with some more private spots if you're there for a little peace and quiet. Even the merch is superfluous in quality!
The rotating food trucks are good value and always top notch, with vegan options aplenty.
If I could find one fault, I'd have to be an even more cynical person than I am, but it's honestly just not possible.
If you're thinking about heading to Lewes for a visit, stop thinking and get down there! Beak is a shining light marking the completion of one's craft beer pilgrimage.
Stayed in Lewes for the weekend and went to Beak on Friday night. Lots of great beers for my husband and alcohol free choice for me. Nice tacos from the guys from Field and Flame too.
Really nice place albeit in a slightly strange location on an industrial estate. We went there towards the end of lockdown as you can eat and drink outside. It’s very popular so you need to reserve tables ahead of time. The staff were great - friendly helpful and fast. It’s a micro-brewery with its own beers available (mainly pale ales) and a good range of beers from other suppliers. There’s always a food truck present from which you can buy decent fast food. Recommended.
Great local brewery with fantastic beer. Highly recommend.
If you love craft beer then you must check out Beak. IPAs, pale ales, stouts, pilsners, and more - these guys are fantastic at what they do. Good outdoor seating area and always good options for food. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Plenty cans available for takeaway too.
This is incredible, beautiful setting under the white cliffs, with a selection of the UKs finest beers(as well as some international bottles that are well worth popping)!
Changing food, dog friendly, excellent staff(Max is very handsome)!
I almost don't want to leave a review because this place is clearly already very popular and it's maybe hard to visit without a reservation, but it was so great that I couldn't resist adding to the top reviews. The beer is outrageously good and there is so much choice. There was a pizza company cooking on the Saturday we went and the prices were very reasonable. I love tap rooms and this is up there with the best I have visited. Well done!!
Amazing beers. Great vibes. Always changing food and great view of the chalk cliffs. Must visit in Lewes / East Sussex.
Pretty decent beer, great guest kitchen, and a lively atmosphere (although they played the eternal hell that is Abba, which burst my balloon). However, this is the only tap room I can think of where it is possible to watch peregrine falcon whilst one imbibes. 5*.
Great place to spend an evening. Incredible beers mostly in a hazy/new england ipa style. Thank you for the clear vegan labelling (VE) - very much appreciated. However, only one beer was labelled VE the last time I went! More please :)
An excellent early Sat Evening visit , highly recommend , great setting superb selection of Keg ales ...the staff were very helpful , certainly know their stuff ..great tasting ale.
Great brewery that has a bar with indoor and outdoor seating (summer). Popup street food. Friendly staff offering table service drinks ordering. Card payment accepted.great view of the downs cliffs.
Beautiful venue, amazing beer, great food. The best atmosphere in Lewes.
Just a short walk from the Lewes train station, these folks are producing some great beer in a cool, industrial setting. Couldn’t be a nicer group of people, too. Really well run, from the social distant spacing of tables and protocol of order/delivery to the excellent food truck that was on site (vegan that particular day).
If their IPAs Parade and Strangers (bangers!) have anything to say about it, don’t be surprised to hear these guys mentioned in the same breath as DEYA and Verdant in a few years as they continue to refine their craft.
Great beers and visit. Quality of their brews are just superb. Food available and I can't wait to come back
Outside cafe area as well as indoor and covered seating at this out of the way brewery in Lewes. Good value and affordable tasty vegan food served up by the pop up Two Wolves kitchen on the day we were there. Best to check what food is on offer though before you go as not always vegan options. Can sign up to their emails. Great selection of beers including vegan beers and no alcohol options. Friendly vibe and bands on some evenings.
