We were looking for an inexpensive hotel close to Lewes centre where we were attending a wedding. Finding space in the car park opposite can be challenging, especially when parking's free, on Sundays. Staff really friendly and very helpful. Our room was small but perfectly formed, with en suite show
Continental breakfast only. Adequate! Being of a certain age that requires copious amounts of tea in a morning was disappointing as no teapots so entailed lots of
Visits to the breakfast table. Location brilliant for our visit.
Spent a very pleasant 60mins with my son, having lunch. He had a burger and a pint of Harvey's. I had a really nice sandwich and a soft drink (driving). Service was friendly and the food came quickly. Will come back, again. 🙂
Great pub with a nice outdoor space and good selection of local and wider beers. Well worth a visit if you are in the area
I had a great afternoon with friends in the garden of the Dorset. We had good quality food and the wine was good. Staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. Dogs are welcome.
Room very clean but furniture a bit "tired.". Bed very comfortable. Bedding and pillows very good. Great night sleep. Shower cubicle a bit snug to access if you are a larger person. Bar area and all the staff we met very friendly. Food was good. Large portions. Cold continental breakfast though toa
The food was excellent, it was very busy so there was a bit of a wait for the food but that wasn’t a problem for us as we were not in a hurry, it has been a while since I last ate here but the quality is equally as good as it was.
We stayed here the night before we moved to Lewes. The rooms are good, It's not as noisy as you might think, being above a pub. The bar service is great. The food is good. The beer is Harvey's and my wife says the white wine is nice.
And it's just around the corner from our house!
We love coming to the Dorset on a sunny Friday evening for an after work pint or two. The staff are friendly and there's a pleasant, buzzy environment.
Another great stay at The Dorset, sparkling clean big room with a friendly welcome and good continental breakfast, the staff are so welcoming and helpful, we will be back thanks for a wonderful stay 😊
Very good location, nice pub ( was shut the saturday night we stayed due to staff party). But the lack of savoury options at breakfast let it down, a bowl of boiled eggs or slices of cheese and ham were definitely missing. Room was a little cold, heating on timer not on till 5pm. But all in all,
I just ducked in for a pint or two, nothing else. The Harvey's is kept well as expected. Plenty of seating inside and a large patio area outside with a view of the brewery.
Chips are crispy, my wife is in a wheelchair and found good facilities and Harvey's beer on tap, good place.
Great location and good selection of beer/ales and food. Highley recommend.
As soon as I stepped into the bar I knew I'd booked the right place for me.
A warm welcome awaits all. The staff are are all delightful annwentboiy of thier way to make it memorable. All while the landlord was on his own holiday. Rest assured it's in good hands.
Great value, the local beer & great
What a lovely atmosphere to walk into after a long journey. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food is quite basic but really good value and very enjoyable. I will be staying here again when I'm down this way.
Lovely food and service. Reasonably priced. Great loaded fries & cheesy chips. Friendly staff. The beer garden could be nicer and swept more. It needs a bit more foliage, plants and lights. Nice clean toilets though. Would definitely go again.
We stopped here for food & drinks, was nice sitting outside. Kids fish fingers had spent too long in the fryer & were almost hollow, however all of our other food was delicious, portion sizes are quite big. Despite the fish fingers we will be back. Nice friendly place to take the kids.
