Cafe du Jardin hosted our recent wedding soiree. Lucinka and her team were amazing. The food was absolutely delicious and the wine superb! It was truly the highlight of our day and the cafe's ambiance was amazing... I cant recommend this place enough to anyone wanting to use it for a private party or just drop by for afternoon tea or a quiet glass of wine. Karen Simpson

I had a really relaxed but fun time Friday night, excellent wine list! I'll make sure I order the Camembert again too next time. My little slice of France in Lewes, perfect really. Oh and my family organised a surprise party for me there in March, it was the best birthday I've ever had, danced Salsa and Charleston, with the gorgeous courtyard to catch our breath and cool down. Food was beautiful and felt like a Princess. Looking forward to some summer evenings here!

Only had soup and a cuppa but it was a great place. Bit of a hidden gem - not sure I should even be telling you about it! Will definitely be back next time I'm in Lewes.

We had a delicious brunch time snack at the cafe du jardin. The entrance way is unassuming but don't let that fool you, this rustic restaurant serves delicious bites and thirst quenching drinks in a relaxed and informal French cafe style both outdoor and indoor tables and believe me this place gets busy. Our server, Albie was an absolute gem, he worked hard to ensure no one was waiting, very attentive and capable. As you can see from my photos the food is excellent. However I wished I had ordered one of the tasting plates as they look fantastic.

Cute café with an outdoor courtyard next to an Antiques shop. Went there for coffee and cake but the lunch menu items looked yummy. The lemon meringue cake was delicious as was the orange and ginger cake. There are large parasols in the courtyard to provide shelter. The outdoor seats had cushions on them so they were comfortable to sit on. Service was pleasant.

Lovely little find in Lewes. Great for coffee and cakes. Food not as good - we had a chicken Caesar salad and gazpacho which were pretty average. But great service and a lovely place to stop when in Lewes.

Lovely service and atmosphere for a laid back Sunday afternoon brunch. Upon request they provided cut avocado on plain toast for my fussy toddler even though there was no such dish on the menu.

We had a coffee and a chat at Cafe du Jardin last week and it was so lovely. A hidden gem just out of the busyness of the town. A proper little oasis of calm, perfect spot

Stunning and charming little cafe by day, wine/cocktail bar by night. (Friday and Saturday for the bar). By far one of the best places in lewes, if not East Sussex. • The decor is brimming with authentic French antiques for the family owned antiques business next to it. • The food is amazing, headed by Pete the chef who has clearly knows his stuff • The wine is sensational. Try the Magneric if you don't mind spending a little extra, just leave some for me! • Relaxed and happy atmosphere. It's hard to be annoyed at anything when surrounded by such beauty. There's also a huge courtyard which is so good from spring to autumn, when a rather large fire pit comes out to warm up the pstrons. 10/10 will go again!

We stumbled upon this cafe as we saw a billboard advertising. Although tucked away it didn't take long to find. There was a quaint seating area outside but because it was cold we opted for indoors. This was down some steps. Hot chocolate and coffee were both great and the cakes delicious. Friendly waitress too. It filled up whilst we were there so guessing locals know about this delightful place.

Came here on a Saturday morning just as they opened to wait for a friend. Had a great cup of coffee and blackberry frangipane tart. Friendly staff and great ambience. My only critique would be that the pastry on the tart was too thick, but that really is nitpicking.

A gorgeous little place to visit in the day for beautiful antiques but even better at night. It feels like a secret hideaway where you can while away your Friday night with a bottle of wine and good company. Even better when they have love music!

It's a little tucked away and a great find. We also ended up buying a couple of chairs in the antiques shop attached.

What a lovely place. A hidden gem in the backstreets of Lewes, with a retro French ambiance and occasional live music.

Great restaurant. Staff were helpful. Food was alright. Took a little while to deliver my order, but perhaps it was because we were a large party. Location is great.

I love this cafe. It's tucked away in a little courtyard setting. I love looking at the antiques in the courtyard shops, I love the peacefulness of the place, it's just like being on holiday. They have lovely food and the people who work there are lovely. It's been a while since going to lewes but when I go I seem to end up here away from the bustle. A perfect place after running around lewes.
