This is the second time I have been to eat here when Ihave been visiting Brighton. The food is so delicious , the lamb curry was excellent with very tender melt in the mouth meat. The Tarka Dahl , Nan bread, rice , prawn & chicken dish were all superb. To top it all off the staff are very friendly & helpful

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and wanted a lunch on a budget. We did the meal deal which was all you can eat buffet (4 choices of main, 3 of which were vegetarian, rice, naan poppadums, chutney, mint yogurt, samosas and Indian sweets) with a drink for a tenner. Well worth it. Delicious food. We will definitely do this deal again.

Lovely little traditional Indian restaurant in Brighton! Exactly what's needed after a long tiring day out. You're in for a treat if you know or are willing to try real Indian food. Great aura, lovely staff; very attentive, perfect service and last but not the least; palpably authentic food❤️. The atmosphere and the decor that's hand painted and organised by Chaula herself will surely be a talking point. Me and my family will undeniably visit again and again. All the best and an amazing job to Chaula's team for all the hard work. I will recommend it for all you food lovers out there to surely check out this place. I hope to be back soon sometime in the near future. Thank You Chaula for the lovely evening! Xxx

My son and I went to Chaula's in Lewes on a Friday evening for dinner, as everyone else in the family was out to dinner. The meal itself was delicious, the staff very attentive whilst not being over bearing. I cannot say much more, so give it a go yourself.....you won't be disappointed

Was surprised to see the mixed reviews here, I have only been to Chaula's (in Brighton) twice but the food has been lovely and the service good, on both occasions. Went for lunch today- me and my mum both had the vegetarian thali- and it was delicious. Attentive service as well, not overbearing at all! I would recommend the restaurant, especially the thali.

Good food period. Pretty much everything was on point, maybe a little oily but who cares. It's a splurge and indulging and excellent. The To-go section is great and so is the service and there is parking closeby. Go Enjoy!

We had an absolutely brilliant meal here. The service was incredibly helpful and attentive with all aspects of the menu. We had 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 rice and 1 naan and left very satisfied and full. All was cooked very well and the flavours were delicious. There was a great selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes, all labelled on the menu, and the staff were very helpful with any questions we had about the cooking of the dishes. Couldn't recommend more for a lovely meal!

Authentic Indian home cooking, do not compare this Indian to a local takeaway. This is an actual restaurant with the best spices and fresh ingredients money can buy. This is the best Indian I have ever had every meal is packed with flavour and you can taste all the different spices, why this restaurant does not have a Michellen star I don’t know. Best Indian I have been to by far in the whole of East Sussex a rare and beautiful find ❤️

I was staying at premier Inn 2 minutes walk away and ordered ahead. They nicely phoned me to say it was ready for collection. It seems to have a nice atmosphere in the place with some character. Ordered chicken jalfrezi, palui rice, chana masala, bread and drink for £30. Good to better standard of curry.

Excellent food; really authentic, varied and interesting flavours, textures and spice levels. Service was perfect, friendly, informative helpful. Beer was cold. What more could you ask for on a Friday night?

Booked a table about 45 mins before we turned up and they very kindly accommodated our party of 7. The food was delicious and fresh, and love that they make nimbu paani (fresh-squeezed lime soda) and lassi. A really reasonably priced place that also sells some of its spices and curries to go/ stock in the freezer. Only removed a star because some of the staff were a bit blunt/ terse on occasion, which I suppose was because they were full.

This is one of the best genuinely authentic regional Indian restaurants I have eaten in, in the U.K. a favourite of mine. I’m posting this as I am Surprised (but not surprised) by some of the comments stating it’s different to normal curry house food or not « spicy » enough. It is spicy. But the depth of flavours are more complex because it is genuine (Gujarati-i think home cooking). It’s not pure chilli hit, for the English standard curry house food. I personal recommend the Thalis and the vegetarian ones. Best set of flavours and lovely to have a mix. The Mango lassi and buttermilk lassi are good too.

We were very impressed with the quality, flavours, portions and service (ordered a takeaway for collection)! The food was DELICIOUS!!! Really authentic, homecooked but of high standard. The Dhal Makhani was my favourite. Will definitely visit/order from in the future and recommend.

Wonderful food and a very friendly welcome. Our favourite dish was the stuffed baby aubergines, which was a family recipe. All the dishes tasted super fresh, with rich and specific spicing to each dish we tasted.

I absolutely love Chaula's! The food is always so fresh and vibrant and feels so much more authentic than typical Indian Restaurants. Their vegetarian dishes are as good as good, if not better than many of their meat dishes because they are more traditional. None of the dishes have that floating-in-ghee look or taste that is common elsewhere which is brilliant. They make delicious Lassi too! The staff are always friendly and polite, even when it's clearly a busy night. I can't wait to be able to eat in the restaurant again!
