A warm welcome, attentive and knowledgeable staff. A great pint of Harvey's Armada and pork pie lunch. Other sandwiches where excellent ( my wife recommends bacon an Brie). All in all a great place to stop and lunch before exploring lewes and the brewery shop.

On our way back to Essex from Brighton we decided to stop in this beautiful town . We were so lucky to stop in this beautiful gastro pub . Selection of ales , gin and stunning food . I opted for fish and chips and other three selected the ploughman with their award winning pork pie . All to die for. The landlady made us feel so welcome and left us as if we were her friends . Highly recommend this lovely venue . Just wish we had more of these places in Essex . Thank you again x

500 mile round trip to drink the finest ale! In a fantastic pub. Harveys brew quality ale, the Best Bitter was fantastic yesterday. Well worth the effort to visit. Not sure why the powers that be are now producing tins and keg, which are simply rubbish in my opinion! Bit like Rolls Royce going into washing machines!

Great tasting local beer, couple of real winners. A nice historic building down a quiet street. The meal I had was a classic pub grub dish, generous, fresh product and drowning in a rich beautiful brown ale gravy. Friendly staff and locals, I would definitely recommend popping in for a pint of Harvey's best.

Great Lewes pub and beer. Had our wedding reception upstairs in 1999. Always have a Harvey’s when I am back!

The place you need to eat if you're in Lewes. John Harvey Tavern is a proper British pub with good beer, good food and pleasing ambience. Friendly staff. The food is very reasonably priced and good value for money. Walk down the hill from the castle, past the crossing (and the overly priced trendy cafe) and you'll find the pub on the right, just over the bridge. It's a Harvey's pub, with the full range of beers - and just across the road from the brewery. Perfect.

Late decision to find somewhere to eat and phoned up saying we had a party of 5 and a dog for lunch. Said she will sort something out within 10 minutes and found she had sorted a table and reserved it in the bar area. Great service, great food, dog friendly, excellent pint of best

Lovely pub. Looking a bit tired now but that's the charm. It's a locals and tourists pub. Great selection of Harvey's 🍻. But I have to go for a pint of Best. My favourite.

After visiting Lewes Castle we were a bit peckish so walked down the high street and found the John Harvey Tavern. It's sort of hidden away on a side street, but we're glad we found it. My husband had wanted to try some of the Harvey beers, so this was perfect for him. We ordered sandwiches - a pork sausage sandwich for him and a falafel and halloumi sandwich for me. Both were enormous and came with a generous serving of chips. Great value for money!

Marvellous town centre pub next the Brewery. Function rooms upstairs, plenty of room downstairs. Wide range of drinks. Outside sunny tables

Good selection of Harvey’s Brewery beers as you would expect. Staff were great. It’s a little bit tucked out of the way so need to look out for it if you’re a first timer like me.

Nice pub, across the road from the brewery. Harvey's Best bitter in barrels at the back of the bar. Good bar service, decent beer and wine. On the night we were there, they had a problem finding food menus. Having ordered the food, I would say it was OK, not great, just OK. But the bar service was good and I'd go back there.
