Visited with my dog and met a friend there. Long story short: we'll be back! Dogs are well provided for. In addition to the items on the doggy menu, it is also possible to buy bags of biscuits that benefit Macmillan. The human food isn't bad either. 😀. It has a fantastic canal side location. You need to be careful driving in.
Not been for a very long time, such a great location beside the canal. A bit tricky to drive as single track road and a very skinny bridge. Visited early evening and was quite busy but served fairly quickly.
Although we were advised that a number of menu items were unavailable due to lack of delivery, there was still a good choice. Good arrived in good time and was well presented and all said very tasty. Desert did take a while but still worth the wait.
All staff were friendly and helpful.
Monday lunch.
We were looking for somewhere to eat after a morning shopping. It was our anniversary so wanted something quiet nice. Our daughter suggested the Globe inn after looking on the internet. I had been to this pub years ago so thought we would give it a try.
You drive down a long driveway to the pub and then along the canal into the car park. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel very welcome. The pub inside is cosy and very clean. We were offered to sit in the restaurant or bar area which joins each other so keeping the atmosphere.
The food was really good and plenty of it. We weren’t rushed and the staff were very friendly. They have good real ales to choose from. The landlady informed us about their recent visit from film star Brad Pit who booked the pub for a whole week while filming locally. Apparently he loves old English pubs. We had a nice walk along the canal after our lunch.
I would definitely be returning soon and would recommend this pub. Thanks for a lovely lunch.
John, Libby and Lulu 😊
Had a fabulous meal here. Considering it was busy the 4 of us didn't have to wait long.
Lovely setting right next to the canal.
Can sit in or outside.
Smashing waitresses too.
Great place to meet up with friends for a great dina!
A wonderful experience this evening at The Globe. Our last visit in May 2022 was awful....all I can say is what a difference just over a year makes (under new management and staff)! Menu offers a wide variety of food at very reasonable prices. Food arrived promptly and was piping hot and was delicious. All staff were friendly and inviting. I would definitely recommend and will revisit.
Lovely old pub by the Canal. Popular with dog owners and a great place to spend a summer's evening outside. It's a shame you have to search for your own cutlery and serviettes. We were told we had to get them from a shed in the garden but no forks, so then had to go inside to find some. Food was nice but only 4 stars for that reason. Surely the staff could bring some with the meals. Plenty of condiments though.
Absolutely great place to chill, it's right on the canal. It has a garden for kids and play area. Pub sells food and location is right out the way. Very nice staff would recommend to anyone wanting to chill.
Absolutely loved it. Great Pub. We were on a Canal barge holiday. A must stop off point. Great atmosphere, staff friendly, food great, fantastic building. Should have taken photos 😳. Made our break better and a memory, to remember.
We had a shared platter, which was very tasty.
The drive to it is a bit scary as it's one lane over a narrow bridge and along the canal into the car park.
The staff were friendly and attentive.
Thank you to them for making our visit so enjoyable.
In a lovely spot right on the Grand Union Canal , this is a traditional, and unspoiled canal side pub. Warm and welcoming inside and with a large seating area next to the water.
Very good sandwiches and scampi served to the table. A good choice of beer and lager wraps and handles at the bar.
A good car park at the rear of the pub but please drive with care down the narrow tow path.
