Walked in and first impressions are that it looks clean and the owners are lovely people. Welcoming and geunine people. Ordered chili chips and cheese.....jheeez the portion was massive but so nice. And well priced. Saw someone have the doner so that made me order it too. Defo worth it. Food was nice and well priced. Will defo come back again.

Highly recommend Whetstone Fish Bar - we are a local charity and have used them for large orders (40+ people) on 3 occasions now. Standard pricing is good (on a par with other chippies) but they have been kind enough to give us a deal due to our charity status and order size. Our large complicated orders have been spot on every time, and ready bang on time. Staff are always really friendly and can’t do enough to help. All of our members always compliment the taste and quality of the food, especially the fish. Very satisfied!
What a lovely little chippy in Whetstone! We go here a lot and the team are lovely and of course the food is AMAZING! Portion sizes are huge really get your money’s worth! My pups new favourite thing is the sausage!😂 I was served by a blonde girl and had the best customer service! Then I met the owner thankyou Whetstone Fish Bar for a lovely experience 👋🏻

Not recommended at all. I have ordered Donner and tikka pita for me and my miss and day after we have huge food poisoning... Dish was barely warm and taste of it was like 1.5/5.. all salad is a lot of onions, 5 slices of cucumber and couple leaf's of ice salad... Price is not adequate to quality and taste. I would rather eat frozen pizza from Aldi then visit this place again. 1 attempt never go back again.

Day after my rieview owner want to talk to me about my bad experience. He offered me money return or next meal on house. I believe in second chances so I decided to have another meal some day. Month after my review I decided to try it again. My experience with food are totally opposite. The food was nice, warm and size really decent. I have ordered a doner in pitta and chicken tikka in pitta. Only shame is no vegetables or salad in dish, just flat bread, meat and souce. Generally attitude of owner is 5+ stars and all food owners should have same attitude. But in my opinion there is some place for improvement dishes. I think now 4 star is adequate review.
I’ve never used this chippy before, I usually go to Cosby. I ordered food for delivery, it arrived well packed and hot. The chips taste proper good! I’ll definitely be back.
First time ordering from here from a recommendation of a friend. Ordered while walking home. I asked for my salad separate.... it didn’t come with my order so I thought it just crack on. A few minutes later the driver knocked on my door with my salad and couldn’t apologise enough. Arrived ahead of time given and tasted amazing 👌👌👌
An absolute amazing chippy to go to.. been my go to chippy for years now and they've never failed to impress with the food.. an absolute amazing atmosphere when u go in and wonderful customer service. The main man Pritz always has the orders on point.. highly recommended these guys!!!!
Haven't actually been to this fish bar in person, but I have had a few deliveries. Either we have sensitive taste buds or whatever oil they use tastes, almost like soap. Whenever we got a delivery, the chips tasted odd. Although it might just be something that happens when you get delivery because i've noticed this happens a lot with chip deliveries from different bars but then they never taste bad when you go to the bars in person. However, delivery was fast and well packaged. Seems like a good and reliable fish bar, so I don't understand why we had a bad experience. Maybe we're just not a fan of the oil they use. On the other hand, you do get a lot of chips for the money, so good value.
Update: it's now March, and we got a takeaway again, and the issue with the funny tasting chips is gone, so I'm now leaving a rating of 5 stars!
Best cod and chips tasted in a long time, Mistake made the change but rectified without any problem. Honesty Like this is unfortunately not common these days so thanks again.

This Chippy has been open since 2018 and in those 4 short years it has not only become a staple of the community, but has become a role model for all small food businesses to follow. The food is cooked fresh, the staff are like a second family and any issue I have had with food has been resolved in a professional, empathetic manner. If I were to recommend a meal, I'd definitely say the new daily offers. They keep the menu fresh and interesting. 10/10

Best chippy I’ve ever had. The Donner in pita was the best I’ve ever eaten, cooked well, not too chewy, not too crispy. Lettuce was fresh and sliced thin. Honestly 100/10, I would definitely suggest whetstone fish bar :)
Would give Prits & his team 5 star plus but unfortunately not an option on here. The food is always fresh & very tasty. Plus has plenty of selection besides fish & chips. The tandoori chicken tastes amazing. I would highly recommend the food from here.
Great staff. This is the best Fish and Chip shop ever. We have lived in the area for 30 years and found this Fish Bar about eighteen months ago it is simply the best . I recommend Whetstone Fish Bar to everyone, try it for yourself. As they say "the proof is in the pudding ".

I don’t know what the new owners/management have done but they’ve totally turned this place around because the food here is delicious!! Portions are massive and come in cardboard serving boxes so your food stays warm and in one piece. The prices are reasonable too considering the quality and the sheer amount of food you get. The fish and chips are cooked to perfection and the batter is light and crisp. This is now our fave takeaway and deserves the 5 stars.
