A very popular pure vegetarian place with fresh food every day
This place is a go-to for anyone visiting Leicester. It’s for everyone! Whether you’re a child, adult, vegan, vegetarian, spicy food addict and even for those who can’t stand any heat! Before our long drive back to London, we thought we would pop in and take food away for the evening for when we got back. Despite us eating the food a few hours later, it still tasted fantastic! The ‘donor meat’ was of course vegan but it tasted sooooo good! The nice lady at the counter promised to pack it all nice so it would still be ‘fresh’ and she did a great job. It did not disappoint. We also ordered the Mexican burger for our journey back. Cannot wait to go back (this time eating it fresh out of the fryer)!
The jacket potatoes here are absolutely delicious! They were big, fluffy inside and the skin was perfectly crispy. I highly recommend them. The reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is when I ordered it on Uber eats it was extremely disappointing. It was probably Uber’s fault but I didn’t enjoy it at all. However, every time I’ve been to the shop in person, the customer service was excellent, the food was amazing and it was reasonably priced compared to their competitors especially when you take into consideration the quality. Overall, would recommend!
Absolutely great food and equally great service. We were recommended the special chip buttie with mild and hot sauce and the VJ special jacket potato. Both meals tasted lovely and I cannot wait to return to hot potato shop soon.

Tasty chips and spicy paneer tikka with a sweet chilli sauce. The chilli cheese bites are the same as bk. Good variety of veg take out options. I am a meat eater and i would happily swap with one of the veg options. Have to wait a bit while chips are cooked fresh which, after tasting, is well worth the wait.
Based on the location, the service is as expected. Yes, as per previous reviews the owner doesn't smile, but nor do i so it don't bother me.
Been coming here since I was a kid and still do as an adult and always will. New owners and management but same flavour, its deffo an upgrade...you'll see go check it! Best chip butty in Leicester hands down!
I been eating here since I was a child the food has allways been great and tasty. Since new management took over its got even better.
Food was fantastic, I'll definitely be making hot potato a regular. Staff were very friendly and welcoming dealt with the order and food efficiently. I had the soya burger and special chips, tasted amazing, freshly cooked to order and generously portioned.
Love there hot potatos!! Price is great and very generous with the portion, always go there when I fancy a yummy hot potato and if I am really hungry 😀

The customer service and the level of kindness is definitely top notch 👌. It doesnt hurt to be nice and extra friendly when speaking to customers but definitely something thats missing within the industry at the moment.
The potatoes was just so tasty , huge portions.we also had some chana daal which was very tasty too. The jacket potatoes were also huge ! Lots of filling -was moist and very flavourful . Me and my husband enjoyed it.
Definitely a revisit and a must try for others. Would like to try their chips with cheese and onion relish🤩

Soo much variety or veg food. Really tasty and impressive. Great for lunch orders. Vegan donner is a must try.
Love the food here! So nice that there is such a wide choice of tasty options as it's all vegetarian 🤩 I enjoy spicy food and usually go for the v Jay special potato, had chips with chilli paneer this time and was also pleasingly spicy and very tasty. Generous portions too
