Loved it here! Lovely cozy place with a lovely smell as you walk in. Very friendly service. Tasty cupcakes to choose from as well as some other cakes like lemon drizzle, Carrot cake. Good choice of drinks incl milkshakes. Hot chocolate looked delicious. Prices similar to other cake shops. Clean toilets for customer use. Every available seat was full when we went. Popular place. Well recommended.

Always make sure I make a stop here every time I go to Leicester as it’s one of my favourite places! The cupcakes are to die for, can’t go home without one and I love the seasonal drinks menu! You can really tell so much thought and love has gone into this place!
This place is quirky and cute, the staff are friendly and the decorations are unique, the space is small but reasonable. The service is timely however good quality. Decent variety of cakes available and something for everyone, expected more of a selection given the shop name however. Beautiful cakes and very tasty. Prices similar to chain coffee shops.
This has become my new favourite place. It is clean and welcoming. The selection of cakes is incredible, best to go there when it opens as they sell out quickly. They have a good range of delicious cupcakes to eat in or takeaway. They also do macarons, whole cakes, gluten free brownies and much more. I like that every time you go to The Cake Club there is a new flavour to try. The staff are very friendly and always happy to help and accommodate. I recommend this place for families, friends, catch up and workers.
The Cake Club provided us with a range of desserts for a 50th birthday party. The desserts looked beautiful and tasted amazing. They were provided at short notice and collected from their beautiful little cafe. They were extremely humbly priced and we had compliments on the desserts all night. The lavender shortbread was a huge must!! We'll definitely be ordering again or popping in for a coffee. Thank you for a lovely night.

The Cake Club fulfilled a really last minute request for me on a Friday afternoon for cakes which I needed on Sunday morning. I was thrilled with the cupcakes, they were for a really special occasion and they were beautiful! I will DEFINITELY be placing more orders with The Cake Club. I had seen pictures on Instagram and then made my order, I got exactly what I asked for and they were really creative and delicious! Thank you!
I visited on a Sunday. Myself and my fellow cake fiend chose the salted caramel, twix, and Bueno cupcakes. We also had a soya latte and a flat white. The cakes were beautiful and light with just the right amount of sweetness. Service was prompt and staff were polite and attentive. Lovely place which I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Great little hidden gem. Perfect for your coffee fix and the cakes...WOW they are amazing. The team are great and so welcoming. Make sure you pay them a visit. Oh and they do take outs too.

Leicester Mercury report of 7/1/2019 states: It is known for its delicious desserts and indulgent hot drinks. Leicester coffee shop The Cake Club has revealed it is to close, after just under two years in business.
The coffee shop, in Newarke Street, was launched by keen baker Suk Basra, who started baking as a hobby after she made a cake for her niece's birthday party. Suk started to receive so many cake requests from family and friends that she set up a Facebook page for orders.
She then decided to launch The Cake Club in February 2017, to give more people a chance to enjoy her delicious homemade cakes in a cosy environment.
Cakes have included mermaid cupcakes and salted caramel crunch cupcakes, whilst hot desserts available included caramel brownie and ice cream and mini Nutella pancakes.
As well as a daily-changing array of cakes and desserts, customers could also enjoy indulgent hot drinks, such as a Terry's Chocolate Orange mocha, unicorn hot chocolate and Nutella hot chocolate.
Suk opened the coffee shop from Wednesday to Sunday each week, while also continuing with a full-time job. However, she has now reluctantly decided to close The Cake Club, as of this coming weekend.
Suk told Leicestershire Live: "As an independent business it’s sometimes tough to compete with the likes of the big franchises, and diet trends. For me, it’s difficult to balance two careers and ensure enough people are visiting to make the business viable. We’ve had an amazing time and met a lot of lovely people as customers and professionals. We’ve had some amazing messages from local businesses, and customers asking if they could help, and saying how the shop was their escape from a stressful life."
The Cake Club will continue accepting orders and will be offering online ordering in the near future.
The Newarke Street coffee shop will close on Sunday, January 13.
Really nice place to stop for a cake and coffee. Staff always with a smile on their face. Too bad they're closed on mondays and tuesdays. Overall worth to visit and try some cakes :)
