This place is amazing. I’ve been here a couple of times and not been let down - Lovely atmosphere, friendly & fast service, delicious food & drinks. One of the other reasons I visit often is because of the variety of gluten free food available on the menu. If you are after something with a bit of a kick, I recommend the jerk fish & chips! I will be returning back to have more of this as it reminds me of my mum’s masala fish. I hope it never closes as it’s one of my greatest discoveries in Leicester and deserves more business. The prices on the menu are a tad expensive however this can be understood for the quality/variety of the food, service and the whole experience.
Visited today with my 2 children we were just passing and was looking for somewhere to have lunch saw this place and thought wow. Staff really polite and we were seated straight away kids ordered from the kids menu which is cool and I had the triple decker fish finger sandwich it was gorgeous the chips were so nice and crispy just the way I like them kids enjoyed their fish and chips and the homemade lemonade is really nice. Once we had our main the kids had dessert the brownie was a little dry and the ice cream was nice The decor is quite funky and played good music I really like this place deffo worth a visit. Thanks guys keep up the good work!!!
Amazing gluten free selection on a very varied menu. I shared a trio of starters, had jerk infused battered fish for main, and a ginger cake and ice cream for dessert, and all gluten free! Very friendly and helpful staff. Great value for money for a wonderful meal from start to finish. I will definitely be back!

'Fish and Chips' prepared, cooked and presented wonderfully.
Having been a regular at the old Maiyango restaurant, I was both excited and a little apprehensive, given the drastic change in direction for the restaurant. The Fish & The Chip did not disappoint!
As expected, everything on the menu is home made. Last night we started with a few of the sides - salt and pepper squid, fish corn dog and cheesy bites. It's hard to choose a favourite, given they were all well flavoured and balanced.
For the main, I opted for the half lobster, which was fantastic. Chargrilled with a garlic and coriander butter and served with chips, salad and Marie rose sauce. It's also exciting to hear they'll be a 'full lobster' appearing on the menu in the not too distant future too!
Dessert was the apple pie and custard, which again, was great. (the home made custard being particularly wonderful).
The evening was complemented by the service. Professional and attentive, with personality! We'll be returning again soon - I never expected 'Fish & Chips' could ever be this special.
The MOST exciting vegan menu in Leicester. I highly recommend the Vegan Korean Fish Burger, Vegan Fish and Chips, Loaded Fries, and Vegan Squid. Generous portions, fantastic and welcoming customer service, and a great atmosphere. All food is made fresh on site, including gluten-free bread. Food is safe for coeliacs and I was reassured that everything is made separately so no risk of contamination. It would be great to see this independent restaurant thrive.

Absolutely love it! Food is amazing, service was great, cocktails are still spot on and it's the best gravy I have ever tasted!! Highly recommend!

Fantastic fish and chip lunch with my children today - so happy to find somewhere serving delicious gluten free fish and chips for a reasonable price so my coeliac daughter can enjoy them! Will definitely visit again when we're in the area!

Came here today food was lovely and catered for my lactose intolerance beautifully I had great food and I dint know why people are moaning about prices my lunch sized fish and chips were huge and great value for money. Will be coming back again for sure

Great veggie, vegan and gluten free food. Good decor, prices very reasonable and gorgeous staff! Only criticism was it looked closed and door was hard to find. Consider illuminating it!
Wide selection of interesting and novel takes on a British classic. Menu is full of vegan, vegetarian and of course pescetarian options. Staff are friendly and polite, prices are reasonable. Was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night, but definitely worth a visit. Pictured is the vegan fish and chips with loaded veg fries.
Fantastic friendly restaurant with quite possibly the most amazing vegan menu we have ever seen. We went late afternoon si it was quite quiet.

I CANNOT recommend this place enough! I had the vegan fish and chips and it was basically JUST like a fish cake, it was so delicious and better than any other vegan fish and chips I've had. The chunky chips were great, they had skin on and were really tasty. The vegan tartar sauce was really good too and the mushy peas. Had the vegan squid side which was honestly so delicious, the flavour was amazing and it was really like real squid. They're battered mushrooms so the texture is very similar. We were ummming the whole time it was so good. The price was reasonable and so worth it for how good the food is!

I've been here a couple of times now, and the latest menu is definitely an improvement. The vegan fish is really very tasty, as are the bowl meals. Everything is fresh and prepared with a bit of love. The air con was also a welcome relief during the British heatwave!
As soon as you walk into the shop, the vibrant colours and decoration make you feel welcome. The staff are exceptionally friendly and very helpful. Food came out quickly and was hot!

Amazing vegan food. Best selection of non vegan/vegetarian/vegan food in a long while. Such a friendly waitress, who was polite and super helpful with recommendations, as well as just being super easy to talk to and make conversation with. The food served was perfect portion size-wise, as well as ridiculously tasty. Food was very reasonably priced, as were the drinks. I could not recommend highly enough. Definitely coming here again.
