come here for Sunday lunch every couple of weeks and cannot fault it! fabulous food, generous portions even get extra gravy without having to ask!!
Excellent- I have vIsites the nags now countless times and I have to say I cannot fault the food or the service. I cannot believe sone of the reviews I have read they seem totally unfounded. The food is fresh and wholesome. Sometimes I have waited a while for food but have never minded this as the food has been worth waiting for. I have found it is definitely best to book at weekends. Sunday lunch is truly amazing just as you would cook yourself. I would and do recommend the nags to family and friends.
Great meal. I visited the Nags on Tuesday last week, staff very friendly the place was clean and inviting, food took about 15 mins (but we were told there would be a small wait) when it arrived it was fabulous,home made chips and not the frozen type most restaurants use now a days. more than enough on the plate, will definatley go again.
Really good value for money. The roast dinners are just like going to tour mums. Friendly service very warm and welcoming. Loved the decor plain and simple but tasteful. Will def be going again. Big big improvement on the last time I visited. New owners have def upped the standards.

Perfect!. We have visited the Nags Head many times over the years so needless to say we were excited to go since its recent renovation. I'm pleased to say it lived up to our expectations and more! The new owners really have taken it back to it's traditional "local" roots, creating an extremely relaxed, friendly, community atmosphere that they should be rightly proud of. Diners, casual drinkers, and children interact effortlessly, although the layout keeps the boundaries between the three perfectly.
The menu was impressive in both presentation and adventure, and I found myself seriously torn as to what to choose! It goes to show traditional food does not have to mean chicken goujons followed by burger and chips. The starters were generous, the mains tasty and satisfying, and the desserts "just enough" (albeit between two as I was stuffed by then!). All our food was made quickly, but not forced, which made for an extremely enjoyable experience.
What really impressed us most about the evening was the service. We were met at the door by the owners, with coats taken and drinks offered at the bar immediately. I have always thought that a major part of customer service was down to timing and the staff seem to have grasped this well. After a quick drink our orders were taken and the starters were prompt. There was just enough time between courses for our food to settle and we never felt rushed either, which for a table of nine was most impressive. Any minor issues were sorted out quickly and we were made to feel relaxed and welcome.
Overall we were extremely impressed with the Nags head, and anyone looking for a relaxed evening, with excellent food and a cheerful local atmosphere, should not hesitate to visit.
Great family evening out!. Our family used to be regular visitors to the Nags head many years ago, but as we have all grown up and fled the nest we had not been for many years. Getting the family together again we thought we would pay the village pub a little visit.
I have to say that we had a wonderful evening! There is a great atmosphere, created by friendly owners and staff. The food was exceptional, great quality and generous potions! On top of all this the price was also fantastic and very reasonable. We defiantly will not be leaving it as long to visit again!
It was bloody gorgeous, the service was really good and the staff were friendly, the food was spectacular, over all I enjoyed my experience and will male sure I attend again :)
I have recently visited the Nags Head since it was under new management and I must say how impressed I was with the service and the quality of food. The food was exactly as described, freshly cooked and delicious. I had and still have no concerns over the cleanliness as this has improved 10 fold under the new owners. Everyone I have spoken to has raved about the Nags since it reopened and I have no concerns and will definitely be eating there often the food is amazing.
Took a trip out with my mum for one of her mother day presents and on the way back decided to pop in the nags head Stapleton. Very clean and friendly staff. Had a fish chips and peas dinner . Very tasty and very fresh . Looking at others eating no one dish looked bad. Definitely going there again soon

Visited in the morning and tried the eggs benedict. It was lovely. Nice coffee aswell. Plenty of parking. Nice garden. Highly recommend.
Tonight was our first time dining at The Nags Head. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting. The staff, including the landlady were absolutely charming. The food was delicious!
The Sunday lunch was freshly made, very tasty and we thought grest value.
Service was prompt. Really enjoyed it.
My son called ahead as I’m not well at the moment and we required soft seating. The lady was very helpful. When we arrived our table had been reserved and extra cushions were placed in our seating area. I was blown away and so thankful. Service was exceptional and food also very good. Will definitely return here . Thank you 🙏

The food was decent and the staff were friendly and attentive. The menu is rather small but l think it caters to most people's wants for pub food. The only tiny issue is the play equipment in the beer garden looks like it desperately needs replacing.
5 of us ate here today for lunch. Staff were very friendly. Food choices and prices were good. I had the cottage pie which was delicious. We all enjoyed our meals and would definitely recommend. 👍🤗

Exactly the kind of pub I'd come back to again and again if I was local - cracking honest food (the vegan cottage pie was so delicious I had to check I'd not ordered the meat one 😂), lovely service, good solid drinks. We went as a family group of 7 and the kids were made to feel welcome. Thank you!

Absolutely Brilliant !! The place has been recently re-vamped and the food is gorgeous. To be a bit different ( as a non veggie lol) I actually had the vegetarian/vegan pie , and I was presently surprised. It's worth a visit .👍
