Popped in yesterday with my little girl who loves the place. Been going in for years and a semi regular. Staff are always polite and friendly.....best garden in a city pub that's absolutely massive. With the weather predicted to be decent for the weekend I'm sure I'll be back in. Always good home cooked food too at very reasonable prices.

In olden times the tavern was a place of rest, recuperation and replenishment when on a long road journey. Today few places maintain that welcoming ambience and relaxing quality, The Old Horse is one place that certainly does. A place decorated with curiosity and furnished with care and dedication to the customer experience. Exceptional food and a fantastic variety of drinks make this place an essential pit stop on any journey, long or short.

It's always been my favourite pub! I love everything about it: the place itself, the food, the amazing garden, its location and the lovely landlord and landlady, as well as the staff. My little girl loves it too now!

Having a meal while the kids are at De Montfort Hall. I have to say the Staff at the Old Horse. Are so friendly and attentive. We asked the Chef to prepare something for Carol that was both vegetarian and Gluten Free. He did not disappoint. Carol said it was fantastic. It was made from scratch, not frozen. If you are in this part of Leicester. Come visit this pub. Watch out for the coffin.

I’ve always liked The Old Horse. Being in the service business myself, I’ve always admired the quality and speedy service they offer. They really do run a steady ship behind the bar as well as in the kitchen. Politeness, friendliness and even dog friendliness all part of the service. Went in last night with my partner and our doggy for a drink and bite to eat and it was the hottest day of the year so far, the pub was very busy, lots of people eating, drinking and soaking up the sun and still quality delivered across the board, the team really do work well together. Bravo!! Top Marks!!

Dee and her team hosted our summer party yesterday and we could not have had a better day. 50+ guests, some fund raising games to help #britishlungfoundation she provided hot dogs, burgers, etc plus vegetarian options too. The food was lovely, everyone had a fab time and the venue was perfect. Would definitely recommend The Old Horse to anyone wanting a venue for a summer party. Thanks to all the staff. The price for everything was not exaggerated either.

Travelled from Lancashire for a show and stopped at the The old horse. What a wonderful place. The staff were attentive and very polite. A great selective of local ales and well know lagers. The food was perfect, steak spot on and we'll presented as was the gammon. Brilliant pub with an very pleasant atmosphere and a wide eclectic collection of "artifacts" including a coffin. I will definitely be back again.

So, I went here for a Christmas work. Was extremely busy to be fair but a lovely atmosphere. Drinks were very nice, maybe a little expensive,😅 but I never go out, so probably the right price. My starters was the peri peri skewer cam either a little salad garnish and some red onion on the side and a small dish of peri peri dip. Was really nice. Initially, I thought the size was too small, which was just right. The main was turkey, roast potatoes, Brussels sprouts, carrots, green beans, new potatoes, stuffing, and due to a dairy allergy , I was given my own jug of gravy - which was delicious. Had cranberry sauce, too. Very nice. For pudding, I had the vegan ice cream in a brandy snap basket topped with slices of fresh strawberry. Lovely

This is an excellent pub with a good atmosphere and great food. We visited as a party of four when attending an evening event at De Montfort Hall. It’s incredible that easy walking distance from the hall. We chose tapas, which was available because it was “Tapas Wednesday”. You choose two, four or six items from the menu. We actually chose six per couple making three each! I don’t think I’d have thought of that 😂 The food was plentiful and delicious.

Great pub with nice surroundings inside and out to the point you'll forget you're close to the middle of the city. Always friendly staff with good service and large range of drinks. Didn't order food on this occasion but can be a bit hit and miss although reasonably priced.

Oh what a find! While visiting our niece in Leicester we fancied a Sunday carvery so Holly suggested this pub as close to her student house and a place previously visited. We were pleased to find a car parking space and a table for 5 instantly. The carvery was awesome, generous and a great selection of meat. We chose lamb shank and beef which were excellent, veg and trimmings cooked to perfection and really cheap £12.50/15.00. Will certainly visit here again should we return to Leicester. If you love Halloween, you must visit as decorations are amazing!

Very nice pub. Cosy and warm environment. Incredible garden behind to spend your day having a meal or drinks and plenty of space to bring children to play. Average price. Kind staff.
