Very welcoming bar staff. Great food. Excellent value. Good atmosphere. The only downer is that the beer is Everard's, which is not my most favourite brewery chain, but I can cope with that. Will be back again soon as it's such a lovely pub. Recommended

Me and my partner are moving to the village in 1 month so we thought we would try the local pub as anyone would do. It was an amazing welcome into the community everyone was friendly and the service was second to none. The food was superb and the chef would catered to all our needs. I am shocked at the variety of drinks on offer from such a small pub. I can't wait to move there and have an amazing new local pub.

This place is well worth the drive out of Leicester for Sunday lunch. The staff could or have been more accommodating. The small dining room is very quaint and cosy and the food could not be faulted. We had squash and sweet potato soup and a Veg Wellington which were both delicious

Absolutely amazingly good food, simple but homemade and delicious all our meals were correct, arrived together piping hot. Staff were helpful, friendly and attentive. Great little pub style pub, with lots of atmosphere, not spoilt by time. Had a wonderful boxing day lunch with family . Highly recommended 😊👍

I had lunch with my sister today at The Fox and Goose pub, Illston on the Hill, Leic's. It was our first visit. The staff were very friendly, service, and the food, was excellent. The premises are very attractive in a beautiful, village location. I had a very tasty ham, two eggs and chips, with pea's. My sister had an excellent caeser salad. I had a strawberry and apple crumble with custard, my sister had an Eton mess. Both were delicious. Prices were good, and competitive. I recommend this pub to anyone who's looking for a lunch or evening meal-time venue. It's well worth a visit.

Came here after watching Leicester tigers. Lovely atmosphere, packed with locals. Mixture of old hands and young staff, all equally passionate and attentive. I had Duck which was served pink with perfectly crisp skin, served with cheesy mash and plum jus. It was amazing, portion size was filling with enough space for desert... Which was winter mess, winter berries with ice cream real clotted cream and meringue. Simple, clean, perfect compliment to the rest of the meal. It was the perfect meal, left me full but wanting more. Highly recommended.

Looks like it's under new management, stopped by Wed lunchtime on a cycle ride and it was open ( think Wed- Sun for lunches). Anyway very welcoming and the beer was superb. Nice Rattan seats and tables outside. Will be back to try food soon
