The vegetarian option was excellent with a great selection of vegetables. Adequately priced. Would definitely visit again.

We arrived for Sunday lunch. It was quiet when we arrived. Soon seated at our booked table, drinks were ordered at the bar and put on our tab. Are lunch orders were taken by pleasant staff. Half of us went for the Sunday roasts, while the others chose from the standard menu. The Sunday roasts included beef, pork, turkey. Lamb was not on the menu today. The Lansdowne was filling up, and today there seemed to be a children's party in progress. Luckily most of the party were in the other room, but there was some overflow. Despite the party , the staff coped remarkably well with the demand on their time.

Been coming into this pub on and off for years. It's always busy without being crowded. Food is good basic fare. Service at the bar can be slow due to the extensive cocktail menu but it's a good meeting place.

Fantastic place! We were a bit dubious when we arrived as it doesn't look anything from the outside but it was amazing inside!a real retro feel with fantastic food. They catered for everyone in our party and my Sunday lunch was great. A good place for my birthday meal 😁

The Sunday roast was lovely I had the Turkey which was accompanied by Yorkshire pudding roast potatoes and mixed vegetables. It was a fantastic meal and everything was hot and very tasty! The bar staff were engaging and extremely friendly and I will definitely be going back very soon to The Lansdowne.

At 1.30 on a Monday afternoon, outside of student term time, the Lansdowne was the quietest I have ever known. The barman was a friendly chap and came out from behind the bar to take our drinks and food order. The food was delicious, basic, not cheap but worth it. There is something on the menu for everyone, with a slight lean towards vegetarian and vegan choices. Not a massive selection, but in my experience, that's often a good thing.

Chilled out place for a drink. Really lovely staff. Decently priced. Comfortable sofas. Nice food and drinks. Nice outdoor seating area for when it is hot out. Can get quite busy over the weekend and when shows are on at de montfort hall.

Friendly staff. Some good imported craft ales. Like all of the UK the sandwiches are more bread than filling (complains the Texan). Overall, "hell yeah", enjoyed my time here, sipping rye and drinking beer

Nice staff and good beer selection but I arrived 10 minutes before they stopped serving food and the fish was over cooked and the chips were very greasy. The mushy peas had lots of mint in them which was delicious.

A relaxed place with a good range of drinks. Cocktails, mock tails, beers, tea and coffee. Always has excellent food as well. Close to the city centre and the O2 so a good place for meeting at before a night out.

Lovely pint of IPA Peacock £4.50 a pint good value. Only gripe was same glass of wine was £3.90 then £5.10, feel that they should ask if serving more expensive vino?

Great pub on London Road, close to Victoria Park. The clientele is young and trendy as is the feel of the place. There is outdoor seating which is great in the summer months. The indoor seating area is split levelled and the lower kevel has large leather sofas which are great for relaxing and socialising with friends. There is an excellent food menu and I highly recommend it. One of my favourite bars in Leicester.

The Lansdowne, a large bar on London Road, about 8 minutes walk from the city centre and a couple of minutes from the train station, is a favourite for numerous reasons. They always have at least four vegan, and numerous more vegetarian, options on the main menu, plus veggie or vegan specials from time to time. There are loads of options for drinks on tap, plus a plentiful cocktail list and fridges bursting with interesting soft drinks and fruit juices. The food is reasonably priced considering the portions are hearty, with a sandwich costing around £6, plus a bit more if you want wedges, and main meals hovering around the £9-£10 mark. Most important to me in a bar is the atmosphere and the Lansdowne always delivers, with friendly staff and great music (on Saturday's visit it went from Johnny Cash's Boy Named Sue to Fleet Foxes to the Sam Cooke soul classic You Send Me in the space of minutes).
