A restaurant which is located in the heart of the city centre, a good place to start if you have not tried French cuisine before.

The food was excellent and good value for money, the staff were cheerful and attentive. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the price of the drinks, £2.50 for a small coke and £5 for a pot of tea for 2. Overall a great place and I would definitely go there again.

Went for a 21st birthday. Contacted them ahead of the event and the staff put balloons on the table and all signed a birthday card for the birthday boy. Food always good. Great night. Can't thank the staff enough they are amazing ❤

A little bit expensive and the service can be a little slow, but to be honest the food is really really good, no wonder it's been here for as long as it has been as they do serve high quality food. Try the Croques they are amazing.

Nice French restaurant in a great location in Leicester. Just outside of the highcross shopping centre with plenty of bars and a cinema near by. Friendly staff and nice food, service is usually fairly quickly. Only real downside we have found is there is always something we try to order that they don't have, sometimes it's drinks and others food.

Absolutely delicious food, a great atmosphere, and overall a lovely night out. If you're going in the evening I would recommend booking in advance as they tend to get quite busy. Only fault is the servers did not venture near our table much. It took us quite a while to grab one of their attentions (we noticed many were stood in a huddle by the entrance just having a chat!). Other than this, brilliant service and would highly recommend!

Great food, my partner loves it and says it is as close to Parisian as we could get. The staff were great but one thing let them down.... We had to change the soup to onion soup, and we could but nobody explained the £3 supplements per person. That was not explained to me or my partner. However, other than that small detail, my overall impression is that I will keep coming back to cafe rouge

Me and my husband went here for a meal and had a great evening. Both our meals were great, food was done perfectly. Didn’t have to wait long and the service was great! Nice relaxed atmosphere. Couldn’t rate highly enough!

Nice location, especially if the weather is favourable and you can sit outside. If you manage to get served by Dan (think that's his name) you won't go wrong, he's their best; friendly, courteous and helpful. Unfortunately, we didn't get served by him on this occasion (20/5/18) but never mind! After a long walk along the canal, it was refreshing to come into the city centre and enjoy a salad at a place we've been coming to for some years now! All courses and drinks arrived in a timely manner and were of a high quality and made for a perfect end to our day.

The food here was excellent - I had the beef bourguignon. The staff were attentive and friendly. However the atmosphere was lacking. We visited on a Wednesday night and there were only 3 or 4 order tables occupied. Although this was mid-week and obviously quieter than the weekend it was decidedly quieter than other restaurants we visited that same week (TGIs and Wagamamas).

Food was better than the last time we were there. Came back after over a year of staying away as the food and service was very poor. We will now consider Café Rouge more often now. We feel like the restaurant in Leicester needs a bit of a spruce up as ut is looking tired and some of the furniture is worn and not in the way like an authentic French Bistro is. We had the Demi Poulet and it wad lovely. Hopefully it will be as good next time.
