A great place to start my weekend.
Great locally sourced produce cooked and presented in true professional North Bar style. I had the tempura prawns, with the monkfish tail to follow both were absolutely divine. The flavours left my taste buds dancing away! Of course there was no room for desert but I managed to sneak in a scrumptious sticky toffee pudding.
The team and service is always exceptional. It's like you are being served in the comfort of your own home feel.
Who knew peas could taste this good! We had the 6 course vegan menu with the wine pairing and absolutely loved everything. The atmosphere, the service, the food, everything was amazing.
I had the vegan tasting menu accompanied by gin pairing.
The pairing was really well balanced in flavour.
I would say that the dishes could have had a bit more complexity ie with a crunch and other flavours. They looked and smelt incomparable to the meat dishes.
Myself and my partner came for the Tasting Menu at the weekend, myself choosing the vegan option. I have read mixed reviews so was not sure what I was expecting. But as soon as I tasted the first course, it was delicious and just got better as each course came. All the dishes was amazing and my favourite dish was the Vegetable Garden with almond mousse. My partner loved all the dishes too with him choosing pairing wines and I chose gin... which they have their own gin!
My partner does not usually eat vegan food and even he said he would choose to try this option next time. Highly recommend to anyone!

Friendly staff with good service and great food, the wine was also very nice. My only complaint was that the food came out very quickly as did the wine. It would have been better for me to pace it a bit.
Fantastic price for the taster menu it's only £55 which is a bargain and £70 odd with the wines.
Try it out you won't be disappointed.
The vegan taster menu and regular taster menu were outstanding. Really well presented and seasoned food, lots if time and care put onto the plates and very well considered flavour combinations. I personally feel the service could have been more attentive as it's a small place and they have the time to come and pour wine and reset cutley which would have added to the overall experience.
Absolutely amazing taster menu with paired wines, food was absolutely divine and the wines went so well together, it was such an opulent experience. Atmosphere, ambiance and welcome we’re all fantastic. Can completely understand why people attend again and again.
After initial reservations about the cost I can honestly say at £75 this was absolute value for money.
Will definitely attend again as soon as I can.
Loved the North Bar and Kitchen. The staff were welcoming and friendly from the minute we stepped through the door. A great knowledge of the many (44 I think) gins on offer and happy to take the time to impart some of that knowledge.
The food was just as good as the service, a nice simple menu, cooked to perfection with some really nice touches. We'll definitely be visiting again and recommending our friends do the same.

A small independent restaurant offering very high quality food and drink. Small, fresh locally sourced menu. Friendly and attentive staff. We really enjoyed our gin tasting board. Our one and only visit unfortunately as my son has now graduated and left Leicester.
We had the vegan set taster menu. All courses were innovative, flavourful and well presented. The staff were very friendly. The mocktails were also super refreshing. It's a nice addition to Leicester having a restaurant which does a vegan 'fine dining' taster menu.
Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Hate the term but gastro pub, it's both where you can buy a drink and chat with friends, or have a meal, or both. Had a fantastic meal, exceptional, but including the drinks not cheap. However well worth it. Visiting family, eaten here a number of times and never been disappointed.
