Having only moved to the area a few months ago, I’m slowly working my way around the numerous eating and watering holes that Leek has to offer. Having had a few pub lunches and a few more curries and with friends visiting, we decided to try The Street Restaurant and Grill, on Russell Street, as it looked a little different with an interesting menu. Keeping it Totally Locally and all that! The restaurant is small, only four tables, but rather than feeling cramped appears quite spacious inside. Having so few people to cater for also means the quality of the unrushed service is very high with the chef also taking time to talk to us explaining some of the dishes and the history of the restaurant. The menu was small, something that I have complained about in the past, but this wasn’t an issue here as I could quite easily have eaten everything on the menu. No lasagne, hunters chicken or pizza here! The food came in a reasonable time, looked good and tasted better. No small portions necessitating a visit to the chippy on the way home but not low quality ingredients bulking out the plates. In fact the quality of the produce and, below pub price, alcohol available was second to none. We staggered out, pleasantly full, after an unrushed couple of hours, already planning our next visit here!

The best restaurant in Leek❤️ such a little hidden gem, we loved it. Great food, lovely wine and the staff were fantastic- so welcoming and friendly. A really quirky little place, will be visiting again as soon as we can get a babysitter the jerk chicken was amazing my husband is still talking about it a day later.

Really enjoyed this place, very small and informal with a limited but tasty menu selection. There are about five starters and five mains to choose from all reasonably priced. The owner/chef is very friendly and frequently comes to your table to check everything is ok and to explain about his dishes. I would advise booking as there is only room for about 20 people. Recommended.

We visited here for a special meal based on Facebook hype and we weren't disappointed. Not only was the food incredible, the owner was a lovely guy who was passionate and was telling us where all the meat and food he served come from, can't wait go back.

What an Amazing place to dine out & enjoy the chilled vibe. Highly recommended!! The food & service was superb. It was absolutely Perfect for our group. Spot on, I couldn't of wished for any better. One of the very best, informal Bistro / Restaurant I've been to in a long while. It's not a big place, but that's half its appeal. Thank you. 👍🏻

Absolute gem of a find, my only regret is not having found this place sooner. Wonderful refined food cooked and served by a lovely personable chef who went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and made a lovely effort to get to know us. I'm just flabbergasted that it wasn't busier. If you have a refined palette and enjoy more than the average that leek has to offer, this is the place. Trust me, coming from London it's been a hard slog finding a decent restaurant, but this has been the answer to our prayers to the foodie gods. We ( my family and I) will be smashing this place henceforth ☺️🐷😁)

What a wonderful little restaurant serving delicious food. One man doing it all and it was the nicest experience. The decor is warm and cosy, service was outstanding. We booked and pre-ordered in advance. Between us, we had spiced lamb sausage with kulcha bread, Argentinean steak with dauphinoise potato, jerk chicken with Mac n cheese, raspberry cheesecake with fudge ice cream and chocolate pot with stroopwaffel. All the food was fantastic, lamb sausage was piping hot with a tasty pomegranate molasse dressing. Potatoes that went with the steak was excellent, was asked which type of mustard I wanted to go with the steak, that was a lovely touch. The chocolate pot is a must, really dark and rich. Lovely way to end an meal. I definitely want to visit again.

Absolutely Superb What a fantastic place The Street Grill is. 4 of us visited yesterday evening and had a wonderful time. Great vibrant atmosphere, superb host in Billy and the most amazing food. I can honestly say the Argentinian Rump Heart Steak was the BEST steak I have ever eaten, can’t stop thinking about it 🤣Add to this a delicious starter and scrumptious pud , 3 courses of pure delight. Would I go again? Most definitely and I would highly recommend anyone who wants a delicious meal at a very reasonable price in a quirky but delightful setting to visit Billy at The Street Grill! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Quite simply the most wonderful food Leek has to offer. This quaint and intimate restaurant serves absolutely phonomenal food and at very reasonable prices. There are only 3 tables (of varying sizes), the food is cooked just behind you. It's locally sourced and freshly prepared & cooked. The proprietor is the chef, his passion for his business is obvious; the quality of service matches the first class food. I really can't speak higher of this place, it's incredible. If you eat meat, you should try the steak, you won't regret it. The cheesecake is also not to be missed!
