As always, a lovely warm welcome and AMAZING food. So many menu options, and the staff are always attentive and helpful. We will be back again soon. Sunday lunch sounds fabulous.
I visited The Owl with my partner last weekend. I don’t usually leave reviews, however, the amazing service and excellent food warranted this review. I was greeted by a lovely lady (I didn’t catch her name), and we were taken to our table quickly. The food was speedy and absolutely delicious. I had the catch of the day paired with a recommended wine - it was fantastic! The location along the canal is beautiful to look out over as you enjoy your meal. The team really went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend The Owl.

Had an amazing meal there last night in the quiet evening snow we walked from the doubletree. For the first hour we were the only guests. The service was stellar and professional. My husband had an old fashioned which was made with scotch which was an interesting twist. We had the chicken and oyster and duck beignet starters. We had the halibut and pork for dinner. Such interesting flavors and all were simply delicious. Desserts were wonderful. We enjoyed a tawny port with them. Such a wonderful meal! I would suggest this experience for all! Kids not allowed which also makes it a wonderful time for adults. Before you say anything I’m a mother so please save it. Sometimes this wonderful an experience is meant for adults to enjoy like adults! If you need an amazing meal please do yourself a favor and book here. It was truly a wonderful meal. Added cheese course for £12 so worth it however you ONLY NEED 1 since served at the very end and it is big enough to share.
Another excellent experience at The Owl! Absolutely love the new location, and the service from Jess is always first rate. Food always delivers, especially the themed tasting menus, and the overall package keeps us going back. Can't recommend it enough..
Delicious! Highly recommend a visit.
Went for evening meal and chose from the 5 course Dinner Menu. The food was amazing - so tasty and nice to have something so different. Although the portions look small, I was full (not stuffed) at the end of the meal.
The service was good and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes.
A lovely location by the canal with a relaxed atmosphere.
I will be back for another meal.
Thank you so much for such a lovely evening for me and my date - we had a perfect evening. The food was brilliant, the staff were knowledgeable and welcoming, and the atmosphere was excellent.
I've wanted to visit for a while and felt like it being a Wednesday was reason enough, so thank you again for making a standard Wednesday even more special. What I love most about The Owl over other tasting menus I've had is the laidback, accessible experience that anyone can enjoy as the staff genuinely wants to accommodate everyone.
We will absolutely be back!
Love The Owl, been here a few times now and always great food and service. Definitely my fave Leeds restaurant.
Really lovely lunch 5 course tasting menu. We both enjoyed it more than the Michelin-starred meal we recently had in the French Alps. Every course had surprising and successful flavors highlighting a variety of marine proteins.
Only criticism might be the visual pallete - the chef obviously likes shades of brown and orange ;) and the petit four to finish the meal felt like a bit of a simple throw away after such a fun meal.
Gonna dream about the truffle French toast snack, cheese seaweed mussel delight, sexy pork and scallop, and verbena sorbet. Can't wait to go back.
Wow!
I’ve been fortunate enough to eat at a couple of Michelin starred restaurants recently. Owl doesn’t have a Michelin star (yet) but this was probably the best meal I’ve had this year.
We opted for the four course early evening dinner menu as we had a concert to go to.
I was impressed with the staffs knowledge of the menu & ingredients and their willingness to make suggestions and share their preferences. I found them all to be friendly, engaging and professional.
I cannot wait to go back to go back to try more of their innovative, seasonal perfectly executed menu.
Amazing food, service and dining experience. Highly recommended.
Entrance in the evening is through the closed market which is cool by itself.
The Kitchen Counter (6 courses for £60) is incredibly delicious and very good value.
At this price of £35, also recommend the wine flight. Plus a cheeky glass of bubbles + service, brings the total to just over £100 which for the experience and food is really superb.
The kitchen counter meant I was able to talk to the owner and head chef, Mark Owens who was funny and friendly (he also signed my menu).
The food is prepared to a very high standard and is absolutely delicious. See pics for each dish. The flavours are unique and varied between each course. Portions are perfect and you will leave feeling pleasantly full (but not stuffed).
