Had breakfast and dinner here twice. Good food and nicely presented. Nreakfast has some buffet and also some different kinds of breakfasts you can order. The trout and the chicken are good. You have a view of the castle.
Reservation is advised. If the weather is good, you can sit outside on the terrace and have an even better view
Have to mention Aron, who serves breakfast. Very nice young man with a pleasant vibe. He remembers who you are and is not superficial and is really honestly interested.
Couldn't have asked for a better experience! The view was amazing with the castle in the background. Make sure to see our amazing dusk photo. it's not doctored at all! We had afternoon tea, dinner, and breakfast here. Everything we had was prepared to perfection and presented with such charm. Wait staff is creme of the crop. We closed the place down one night, so we got to chat with most of them for a while. They are all super friendly. The restaurant itself is set up very nicely. The patio out back gives you the best view of the castle. Whether you're staying overnight or just visiting for the day, you need to grab a bite here.
We enjoyed drinks out on the balcony and the staff were happy for us to eat there too. The croquettes and the salmon starters were tasty, and pork belly and seared trout on crushed potatoes mains were delicious too. Leeds Castle is a beautiful location and we had friendly service from Megan and her colleagues. Thank you all!
Fabulous birthday meal celebrated here. Food was delicious and well presented and the staff were lovely and very attentive. The gorgeous view of the castle whilst eating was of course a bonus - highly recommend.
Lovely view of the castle from the outside seating. Really nice food. Service a little disorganised - took us about 1 hr between being seated and getting food, but they did apologise and we may have just been unlucky.
One of the best Sunday Roasts I've ever bought ! Really generous portion too!
Amazing food and Great ambience. I only wish our orders came quicker .
This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The view is stunning and the food was tasty with a varied enough menu for meat eaters (veggies will just about cope… vegans I wouldn’t visit!) The view and the decent enough food (for the price) make it worth a visit but I wouldn’t expect top end service or a substantial wine list. The staff are young and there wasn’t any real managing going on. It’s fine until you encounter little issues, even such as a wobbly table, which just took far more energy to resolve than you’d expect. We booked weeks before and requested a window table but on arrival we were told there are none available, which is fine and understandable. To then eat dinner on a table with no castle view but a great view of 3 empty window tables for our whole visit (to which there were no other bookings after 9pm on the Euro cup final!) is a bit cheeky. What makes this stand out is that the majority of visitors will either be coming for a special occasion, or staying in the accommodation and paying a fair amount. If I owned this restaurant I would be proud of the food served but would focus on customer focused training, starting with the manager. It would make this magical setting just perfect to have food + view = make it special for every single visitor.
Great choice of food and drinks and nicely prepared! We stayed at Leeds castle for two nights and breakfast and dinner were included with our stay. Everyone is very welcoming! The food was tasty - beef really nicely done, very tender. We tried a local red wine which was very nice as well. Good choice of desserts - caramel custard slice and passion fruit delice were superb! Keep in mind that menu might be different depending on the seasons.
What a beautiful place to enjoy a meal. I had a perfect evening of dining and admiring. Service was excellent from start to finish, both humble and perceptive.
Food was on the fine dining scale and priced reasonably for food of this quality. There is a lot to be said about fresh bread served at restaurants. At Castle View Restaurant the artisan rolls are freshly prepared and piping hot. Always enjoyable way to begin. An Asian inspired amuse Bouche was offered to follow. Each one of my 3 courses arrived adorned with artistry detail. The main, a whole plaice, was one of the best fish dishes I’ve enjoyed in a long time. Buttery, flaky, it was sumptuous.
As I sat at my window side table I looked out and admired a view of the castle. This venue is romantic, scenic and relaxed. I loved it.
Stayed over in one of the stable rooms and had dinner here for my hen do. Manager Mario is absolutely marvellous he is friendly, professional and created a nice atmosphere on what was a quiet Thursday night. We had a couple of small issues that he quickly rectified and made our night more enjoyable. The food was excellent and they were very supportive of my sisters nut allergy. Breakfast too was really fresh, of nice quality and the view of the castle is breathtaking. Really hope to return one day. Thanks again Mario!
Was surprised by the prices! For such fine dining atmosphere, food and services, meals costed just like a family restaurant! And that was amazing! Stayed 2 nights in the castle and so we had 4 meals there. Breakfasts were lovely, kitchen supplied different food for both days. Dinners were fabulous! The Gammon Knuckle was heavenly. Tender, juicy, tasty and full of collagen; It was more than enough for 2 to share. Thank you for the good service. Would love to try the curry dish next time.
Absolutely loved it here. I proposed to my now fiancee here two weeks ago.
A fantastic atmosphere and awesome service by all staff.
Would definitely recommend!
I had a lovely evening at this restaurant, I dined alone but the staff were warm and welcoming and attentive. The food was incredible and I'm glad I left room for the pudding, a white chocolate brulee which was like heaven on a spoon!
Just be aware that they cannot take a tip by card payment, so come with cash as this is somewhere that you will be happy to leave your thanks for a great service.
*Edit - I went back the next morning for breakfast and the staff were equally amazing and the food great.
The view from the deck is probably the best view of the castle. Food was really quite good and service was very quick. A well run establishment
Took my nephew and dad visiting from Canada and the US here (along with my husband). The staff went out of their way to accommodate us as it was a set menu, and we had already had a late lunch. We were able to have drinks and order off piste, which they didn't have to do. The food was also good, and the view - OMG - is absolutely incredible. Overall, such an amazing experience, and the staff made it even better. (Only slight weird thing was the cucumber butter. I'm all for experimenting, but not sure cucumbers should ruin good butter.) :)
