I'm patiently waiting for The Picturehouse to reopen.
I've gone in a large group and also enjoyed meals with just 1-3 other people.
We've always received a warm welcome and the staff have been very helpful (I'm in a wheelchair). They've reserved tables for me ahead of my arrival, so I've not been seated in an awkward location when it's been busy.
Apart from one unfortunate occasion (we arrived later in the evening and the carvery meats were very dry and the veg was burned through sitting too long under the lights), the carvery has always been very good. Considering the number of visits we have made, The Picturehouse still deserves a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review.
Our vegetarian diner was well advised and received a meal he was happy with.
We've always been happy with the desserts.

I'm sure that when they reopen, the disabled toilet hand dryer will be operational again. That's been a minor niggle.
♿ Access information:
The disabled lift at the corner of the building always works and the easiest way in. There's steps and a big slope at the shopping centre entrance - you can come down the slope from the shops as the entrance is above the steps, but if you're on the pavement, wheel to the other (corner) entrance and use the lift.
The access door to the lift is at the right of the steps.
The disabled toilet has a RADAR lock, but isn't always locked.
This isn't a spacious room; I've a large wheelchair and you can wheel in and close the door behind you, but there's isn't a lot of room to manoeuvre.
The toilet itself has always been clean.
As mentioned previously, the hand dryer has been out of action.
This is a bit of a strange one for me, the pub is a nice pleasant place to sit and have a beer. When I was in it was really busy with people having the food it was a constant stream of people. Most of the chairs were comfy some a bit low for me. The staff were very good and the beers are very reasonably priced but the toilets let it down for me unfortunately. I have been in a couple of times and will go back in and hopefully the toilets will be better 🤞🤞🤞🤞 its a shame.
The carvery is amazing. You can take as much sides as you want. The pub is decorated all around with beautiful pictures and paintings. The staff is great, smiles and polite. The tables are cleaned, the floor is clean and tidy. Children friendly place. Just can say keep it up. Will come back in the future.
Nice and great portion of food!! But people came here mainly for drinking.
Further to my previous review, I went again today and this place has gone from four stars to five in my opinion. I've noticed a recurring pattern that whenever I've mentioned something that could be improved to the staff, they always seem to act upon it, quietly and without fanfare. The staff are great, it seems like nothing is too much trouble for them.
The breakfasts are still great, it's usually pretty quiet and there's plenty of reasonable-quality food, all you can eat for a good price. The drinks are still a bit pricey, but it's slap bang in the city centre, so I suppose that's fair enough. And if you buy a breakfast and a drink together, the two sort of balance out and you get an overall good deal.
I can't comment on main meals later in the day as I've never been in then. I notice that it's always busy at mealtimes so I would anticipate there's a similar good standard of fare. I don't like crowds though, so I may have to try a late lunch at some point :)
Been twice for carvery and once for a breakfast. Food is delicious and best value I've seen for a carvery (especially Monday - Saturday when you can get a regular carvery for just £4.19) the only reason I've only given 4 stars is that I'd have liked a bit more choice in veg. Peas and carrots are always there but once there was only one other choice of cabbage and next time it was sprouts. The Roast potatoes are top notch though.
This was a great little find. I love carverys and they offered a help yourself carvery at an Amazing price!!!!!!!!!
There aren't many places that offer this type of quick decent food so it was a pleasant find.
Food was typical of a carvery but the options were very broad so I was able to find something for everyone
Staff are friendly too!
One negative (and I'm been very picky here) you have to pay at the bar not the carvery counter which slows you down a little when your competing with people who are just ordering drinks. But this is Notting when you consider the price of the carvery and the quality
You know what I've never had a bad meal here. The foods always great, and the staff are always attentive the only thing is I think it needs a real good refurb and tidy because it always looks dull and dirty in there. The bathrooms are always disgusting and smell of urine.
Great selection of beers , good prices , and the carvery is amazing , I would go as far as to say it is better than my own mothers roast dinner - and that is a bold statement , but true - what do they put in the gravy ! Highly recommend giving it a try , and for the price you can’t go wrong! The staff are really friendly , and always a good atmosphere
Good atmosphere! Good for drinking and eating. Typical british pub style interior. We had the all you can eat breakfast which was delicious and only around 4 pounds! It's all self service, which i didn't find bothering at all.
Just popped in for a quick pint after a busy day shopping. Lovely pint served by friendly staff.
