Yes the decor is a little dated, yes theres a soaked in beer from years an animated conversations gone by, but this is The Angel, a place where I have been privalidged to meet some of the nicest, most honest and hard working people. Its a hub for relaxed discussions, racuss debates but no animosity. Dont be fooled by reviews that a based on staff keeping the regular clients safe. We love The Angel

A staple of Leeds, one of the best pubs in Britain for sure. Great beer, great price and a great atmosphere. If ever a friend comes up to Leeds, the Angel is top of the list for pubs to visit

Can not believe I can still get a pint of decent tasting beer in the city centre from £1.40 a pint! Always loved this place!

Without a doubt my most missed boozer. Lovely staff, cosy decor and a reet good beer. Still think of sipping a cold taddy whilst living on the other side of the planet.

I love the Samuel Smiths Brewery as their beers are great and they have a real sense of pub heritage. Like most of their pubs, the Angel has a lot of character. The staff are friendly and courteous too. Great place.

A visit to The Angel Inn is a must on any trip to Leeds. Cosy feel, lovely cold pint of Taddy lager and great atmosphere. Made all the more enjoyable by an absence of right wing muppets. Nothing puts me off my beer faster than facism. Thank you, all at The Angel!

Very accepting of everyone, culture, creed or appearance doesn’t matter, you can feel safe here. Unless you are a Nazi. Nobody likes a Nazi. The staff are even brave enough to refuse entry to the mouth frothing, spud faced supporters of Tommy the twat Robinson Patricia Yaxley-Lennon or what ever you want to call him at the moment! Cheap and tasty pints too!

The bloke behind the bar, skinhead skinny jeans, what a lad he is! The way he pulls the pints is just physical poetry. I bet he could make some great sculptures.

Easily missed from the main precinct, located down a narrow alley this sam smiths pub is well worth a visit. Selling their own well kept ales and largers . Draft ales are priced very reasonable, but bottles are expensive. If you fancy a break from the bustle of the city, give this place a try.The only negatives are the silly no mobile phones rule, and the foul smelling gents loo.

They do now accept card and the fruit beers are a treat. Could be cheaper. Would've liked some music to add to the atmosphere but understand the rules of a Sam's smiths pub

Top Sam Smith's pub. All beers available, top atmosphere, but you can't use your phone to find the next bus home?

If you're looking for a very traditional pub with no background music and a decent selection of beers then you'll probably like this place! It's not quite as characterful as some other traditional pubs, though, the decor is slightly bland but tasteful and traditional. There is an open fire in the bar area, which is a nice touch. The only downside is I'm not a huge fan of the owner of Sam Smith's brewery, who has a reputation for not treating his staff well, so I have mixed feelings about supporting his company. But you can't deny he does traditional pubs very well and makes good drinks!

Located down one of Leeds city centre's famous side streets. Always a great place for a conversation with friends. The staff are friendly, helpful and chatty. The beer is nice (Sam Smith's pub) and unbelievably cheap!

A Sam Smith's house. Looking fresh after lockdown. Still no electronics or swearing allowed. No music either. But in fairness, it does work. But the best bit....they have tap and pay! Yay! I know, but this is a big thing for Sam's, cash only for years. Now there's no need to wander the streets looking for a cash machine.
