Went here today after seeing the place while walking past several times. Forget places like Wagamama or Yo Sushi, if you want REAL Japanese food, and you want portions so big you leave full and happy then you should pay a visit to SushiWaka. It's the best and most fresh Japanese food I've had anywhere outside of Japan. Excellent food, service, atmosphere and price. Simply cannot be beaten!

Me and my boyfriend went there yesterday.... I don't have words to describe how delicious the food was, how good the customer service is! The food is cheap and delicious... Definitely this is one of ours favourite restaurants now...

Finally the Sushi night🍣🍜 at sushiwakaleeds. Really good food in terms of both quality and quantity👌

1) Ambiance (0.5/1) - Simple but warm

2) Food (1/1) - Loved their Sushiplatter (starter), their Chicken Yeriyaki Donburi (rice with meat, vegetables and miso soup) that a friend and me had. Packed with flavors and really good quantity! My friend enjoyed his TunaSashimiDonburi as well. Another friend had ordered #PrawnTempuraDonburi which was good too.
3) Service (1/1) - Friendly and timely

4) Innovation & technique (0.75/1) - Their food is their strength- fresh and yum! It would be interesting to try some of their new styles of dishes.

5) VFM (0.75/1) - 1 sharing platter, 3 drinks and 4 really tasty and filling mains was a total £60.

Overall : 4/5 - Totally recommended for Sushi lovers! I am definitely coming back here for some more Donburi

Sushiwaka has quickly become my go-to restaurant in Leeds. A clue to sushiwaka's authentic and quality Japanese cuisine is the many Japanese patrons of the restaurant. Very good Katsus, tempora, and rolls. Excellent gyoza! Prices are also reasonable. Only drawbacks are slightly slow service and difficulty communicating with servers. If you like Japanese food, be it sushi or Katsu, chances are very good you'll be a satisfied customer!

I've just left a review for a restaurant in Leeds, and I must say, it serves the best sushi in town. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. The staff were incredibly friendly, which added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. If you're a sushi lover in Leeds, this place is definitely worth a visit!

A wonderfully delicious place to eat in. The portions are largely sized and the prices are convenient. The interior is beautiful. The staff are so kind and professional. A bonus is that the place is halal and offers vegan/vegetarian options! The aesthetics of the restaurant are of a traditional Japanese interior.

I visited quite a couple of times and I would say it might not be the best (for others standard) but as an asian myself their food is top high comforting. I have tried their ramen but I think I would come back again for this katsu chicken curry rice. Also, there was a time I have left my lovely umbrella in the restaurant and they kept it. I never thought they would until I dropped by to ask if they’ve kept it by any chance. Lovely staff I got my umbrella back. ☺️

An awesome place to get traditional Japanese food. There is plenty to choose from and all of it is delicious and at a reasonable price. Service was efficient and friendly and I would go back again.

Great value at £30 for two two-course meals. Food was incredible & well-presented, service was fast and staff were polite. Six-piece rolls come with all the trimmings if you like sushi. Tempura was also tasty. Few places in Leeds can fill a stomach with quality food at £15 a head. Can't recommend SushiWaka enough 👍

it was very tasty. I definitely recommend it. except that the toilets there are scary, but that's not the main thing :D

Back again, menu has changed but food is still delicious. We cleaned our bowls of ramen which comes with three choices of broth. I preferred the tonkotsu while my partner liked the soy. The ramen comes with soy egg too. The chicken karaage starter is authentic. Good value, and 10% off if pay by cash. Really packed so service tad slow but still good and attentive. Only flaw is the toilet which was shared with a nightclub above. Been here a few times, never disappoints. Can't go wrong with the ramen, sashimi, sushi. Sashimi slices are bigger, thicker than other typical Japanese restaurants too. good service as well. Luv that they show those Hong Kong foodie shows on TV.

Many years ago I visited here and wasn't very impressed, but decided to try here again, to see if it had improved, was pleasantly surprised to see that it had improved immensely. Speed at which the food came out was fast, the customer service was amazing and super helpful, the food itself was well portioned and super tasty. The sushi was super tasty, extremely well priced, especially compared to other mediocre and over priced locations. Definitely need to visit again

I got takeaway from Sushi Waka at the weekend and it was epic. As a veggie, sometimes your options are a bit limited but they've got a really nice varied choice of cruelty-free dishes and we got a lovely 30% off offer on Just Eat so it was really good value! Deffos recommend the sweet potato tempura and the asparagus & avocado hand roll 😍 thanks guys!
