It's fun, the food is good, the bill is easily racked up. But it's a decent chain restaurant.

What to order: The katsu curry

When to go: any time

What makes it unique: It's the only major sushi chain in the UK

Yo sushi is a great social place. It's quite small and it can get really busy. The price is abit on the steep side but it's a really good eating out experience and if you sushi like I do then the price won't really matter too much!

I know, it's not exactly something brand new and exciting. But, I just love Yo Sushi. If you've never been (and the original Leeds branch is in Harvey Nics, so you might not have) it's a kitch, Japanese, sushi conveyor belt extravaganza. If you have been, you already know that you can either pick dishes off the train, which are colour coded for price, and order extras to be made up from the extended menu. It's not just raw fish, which suits me, since I don't go for the sashimi. What sets this spot apart for me is the staff. I've been twice and both times I've had really great, friendly, informative service -- it doesn't feel insincere or over done, they're just plain lovely there! If you've not tried the weird coconut latte drink, I suggest you give it a go. It's given me the idea to use coconut milk in coffee at home, and that's actually awesome. It doesn't feel like you're ever sat waiting for the particular dish you want to come around and the space is as cool as they always are. It can definitely add up to an expensive lunch, but I tend to get full rather quickly on rice so it's great if you want something that feels healthy on the inside but won't leave you floored with carbs. I'm a fan!

Okay, so this was my first experience in the whole to sushi thing and I actually really enjoyed it. When my group went in, there was 9 of is they sat us on two tables, but one either side of the belt so we could still talk. We also went in quite late, so anything we really wanted we predominantly ordered over being able to get off the belt (which was no issue to me). Being a vegetarian I was very careful if I were to pick anything up so I ordered hot food mainly. I was really hoping they would have rice, which I found strange that they didn't. Noodles instead were fine though. Vegetable tempura here is spot on, so much I had more than I probably should have done. I also got the chocolate pancakes and they were AMAZING. Only wish more of them came on the plate. Service was decent, I found the buzzer system quite a strange concept but I can understand why they would do that. Drink selection wise, I wish there was more, they don't have a mass selection of drinks and what they do have is pretty basic - mostly bottles and cans which can make it expensive. Overall for my first time there I was quite impressed. I would definitely go back because not only was it decent food but I enjoyed the different style of eating. Picking and choosing and having food in small quantities is really nice. Overall good place and they have a 25% student discount which made my meal with drink around £14.

We love eating here. The phrase 'there'll be another one along in a minute' is so apt if you happen to miss the plate you had your eye on! The small dishes circle you and you just grab the one you want. If you are feeling impatient simply request a particular dish to be made and within a few minutes there it is. I haven't had anything that wasn't good and the beauty is you keep eating til you feel full. The sashimi is absolutely superb, as are the dumplings and tempura dishes. Loads of fun as well as being delicious. It isn't the cheapest place to eat but for a treat it's terrific.

Really enjoyed dinner here. The young man who was our waiter had a great sense of humour. Lovely young man. The food was lovely. We didn't have to wait very long and it was so nice. The only downfall is it is expensive for what it is.

Best service ever! Nicest staff, kind and considerate. The food was fresh and nice, portions are never generous but nothing unheard of. Would recommend for a good sushi fix!

The food is nice however the atmosphere and service has gone down slightly in my most recent visit. Its not the same as it was. No longer water available at the table dispensers. No button to press on the table with the fantastic voice over the speaker. Can order with the waiting staff however it directs you to order through the app in which not all options available in the restaurant are on the app. Originally the experience was outstanding but its just not the same anymore.

Me and my mum absolutely love coming to YO Sushi whenever we are in Leeds. They have a brilliant menu catering to all dietary requirements and the staff are so kind and happy to help. They also play great music!

The food is tasty but not calories and extremely expensive. Price depends on colour of the plate.

Love this place! Eat in with friend or alone!! Desserts to die for esp the Japanese cheese cake Eat at a table or around the conveyer belt thing where you can see the chefs prep all the food right in front of you from fresh, plate it up and either pass to you or send around the conveyer belt! You select food from the menu or select what you see going around the belt! And there is an array of choices!! How much? Well abut like fazandes the price is colour coded ie if you haven’t gone for the menu option and you selected the plate off the conveyer belt then the colour of the plate is the price you pay. Doesn’t matter what’s in the plate. The only thing you watch for is the colour of the plate and I think there was like orange, yellow, purple and other colours. The purple were slightly more pricey. However the range of food and dessert is not disappointing!! Love love the katsu chicken curry with rice, the sushi rolls which included teriyaki chicken rolls if your not a massive fish lover! And I can quickly amassed a set of plates on the side as well as katsu curry. The desserts were small but very filling and rich and do not disappoint! Dessert heaven!!! Great to eat alone and with friends. Only one off putting experience is one of the female staff members stare at you whilst you eat. (Hence the 4 star) Yes not an expertise in chop sticks and yes can eat treble My body weight in food despite being small but shopping is hardwork so burnt enough energy before and after as well. It’s nice to see and appreciate customers enjoying your food but to stare them out may cos of how much eaten / bad handling chop sticks it’s not so much nice. Not a pro but we try. Other than that off putting part I’ve enjoyed it here! Brilliant and rest of the staff helpful and friendly.

Visited the all-time favourite Yo! But this time in Leeds. Like always the sushi was amazing - we got the crunchy cali roll and the dynamite salmon gunkan. Both of them tasted very fresh! Will be visiting again 👍🏻

Overall very good. Strange setup. We were sat at the end booth, and opposite us was a waiting area for delivery drivers. Quiet uncomfortable eating infront of people staring at you. The next booth over saw the waiting staff sat there having a chat. The food was brilliant. Overall good experience but a little cold as an atmosphere.

I liked the experience and teste. Personel was very helpful. The only point that can be improved is the size of the portions. It seemed to me small. I took YO! mix, miso soup, and brewgooder shibuya rice lager bottle
