Amazing Chinese food šš²for Friday dinner at G-Wu restaurant on Harrogate road
1) Ambiance (1/1) - It looks small on the outside on ground level (bar and takeaway section) but once you enter the restaurant on level one, it spans out in 2 different sections. Spacious, welcoming, suitable for big groups and it smells divineš¤Ideal for family and big groupsāŗ
2) Food (1/1) - We were 3 of us for our dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed all our dishes! We had spring rolls and vegetarian roasted duck with pancakes for starters. For mains I had the G-Wu special rice (seafood,chicken and vegetables cooked in a Chinese curry served on a bed of rice) and my friends had noodles with vegetarian chicken (made of soya). The vegetarian meat texture obviously was a little different but it all tasted beautiful!
3) Service (0.75/1) - Friendly and Timely
4) Innovation & technique (0.75/1) - They specialise in their cuisine and are doing a damn fine job!
5) VFM (0.75/1) - 2 starters, 2 massive mains (I had to pack mine) and 2 drinks for 3 of us was a total of Ā£45 (Ā£15 per person)

Loved going away from the city for a smashing chinese meal.Would recommend to anyone who enjoys chinese food
Never fails to produce the highest quality Chinese restaurant food. Just delicious! If you've never been here, add it to your must go to list.
The sharing starter (not keen on squid so I swapped to salt n pepper chicken). A special mention to the Fillet steak in black bean WOW.

This place has really taken on the feedback left by myself and others. They have really made an effort to get back to the reputation of the previous owners.
Food was great and as good as it used to be.
Staff were friendly , helpful and very attentive.
Good work G-Woo.
Will happily return.
(Since under new ownership, this place has gone downhill.
This used to be my go to chinese restaurant since it opened in 2011 however I will now need to look elsewhere.
I made a reservation tonight, when i arrived at the restaurant, my family and i were told that there was no booking under our name. Obviously very confused by this, i showed the member of staff the call log and explained that this was confirmed. He told me again that no booking existed but he would find out. This was followed by radio silence for around 15 minutes until i went to the member of staff again to find out what was happening. Once again, my family and i were left waiting with no update for another 10 minutes. At this point, we left as we felt ridiculous waiting. The member of staff was truly the most unhelpful person i have ever come across.
Very disappointing, will not be returning. You have lost a loyal customer)

Excellent host, staff continuously asked if we needed any drinks, food was really good. Had a great night, highly recommend
Nice restaurant, delicious food, fresh ingredients. My son loved it too. New owner was a friendly couple and staff were very helpful too. We will be visiting again.

Best chinese meal in a long time. Some people are saying its changed quality since it changed hands. It has, its better than ever.
We have been taking takeaways from here a few times, and every time we find the service is excellent, but most importantly, the food is always delicious. Definitely recommend.
Lovely takeaway, food is really fresh and tasty, however the price is extortionate. Ā£56 for 3 mains with rice, 2 chips and a bag of prawn crackers.
Very good service and very accommodating to my grandparents, both of whom are 95+. Highly recommend the chicken satay and the side of mushrooms

In the event of a zombie apocalypse the upstairs area might provide a reasonable short-term refuge for a group of survivors, assuming they've got a plan for escape out to a more suitable long-term location.
Ate here tonight after finding them on google .Been a Celiac is so hard to find a decent chinese that cater for my needs .Have to say the staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was beautiful .Was highly delighted with the service alround and will defo be a returning customer .

Great selection of dishes. Fresh and crunchy vegetables and not greasy. Very busy on a Saturday night so service was a bit slow.
I adore the fact they have a gluten free menu as it means I can eat Chinese food again. There is also loads of choice on the gf menu. Cocktails are also great.
Only eaten takeaway, but the food is soooo good. Get the duck and charsui in soy sauce. The best.
