Friday dinner at Red Chilly Restaurant in the City centre
1) Ambiance (0.75/1) - Very interesting with green lights along the windows, brown interiors with tinge of maroon cushions. A tad bit more of light wouldn't harm but it's different from other restaurants.
2) Food (1/1) - Have loved almost everything that I've had here! Their Gangpao starters with peanuts are to die for! Fishfillets in sweet and sour sauce was tangy and fresh. Daqian (named after a famous Chinese artist) falovour starters are fiery but really delicious! fried soft noodles 🍝 is absolute VFM!
3) Service (0.75/1) - Even on a busy evening they manage to be very timely. Family and large group friendly
4) Innovation and Technique (0.75/1) - They are loved for the well flavoured (probably to make more appealing to people in general) Chinese food. I've been here thrice and have never been disappointed!
VFM (0.75/1) - The price may appear more expensive than other Asian restaurants around, but their quality and quantity both are good. We were 2 of us and we couldn't finish 2 starters and a main🙈 that cost us a total of £27
Overall 4/5 and must try for all Chinese food lovers with friends and family!
A taste of brilliance the painter daiphu was excellent and the flavours shone through 10/10
Authentic. Have been several times with friends from Japan, HK, and the UK. All think very good, and authentic cuisine!
Fantastic and different. Not your run of the mill Chinese restaurant! Excellent menu. go for the unusual, you wont be disappointed. Try the Beijing Aubergine... Pronominal!
Expensive for a Chinese but not unreasonable - fantastic food, definite cut above your usual sweet & sour and chop suey. Try some of the more unusual items on the menu - they are well worth it!
Lately, I've been into Sichuan cuisine and after hearing good things about Red Chilli, I couldn't wait to try it out when I was in Leeds. Thankfully, they are open till late as by the time we arrived from London for dinner, it was more like 9.30pm! Straig
Every now and then, a restaurant comes along that just hits the nail on the head. Red Chilli is one of them. Down a dark flight of stairs on a busy corner in the northern part of the city, you'll find a first rate Chinese restaurant, busy and bustling, pe
I have given Red Chilli 4* but I think realistically it's somewhere between 3*&4*. Here on a Friday night, not overly busy. Service was polite but not easy to get attention. The menu is massive, very difficult to hone in on what the restaurant specialises in. There were some nice flavours on display, but lacked some attention to detail, I found the dim sum a little dry. The belly pork was enjoyable but not exceptional. The basa fish soup was the best dish we ordered, the broth full of spice, flavour and Szechwan pepper. The rice was oddly presented in a metal dish, a portion of rice usually comes in a little bowl which also keeps it warm. I am being tough but that is because restaurants around Leeds and London have really stepped up their game over the years.
Nice atmosphere to the restaurant very nice deco. Friendly staff and the food was spot on could not fault it. With authenticity cooked food. Recommend a visit if your in Leeds. Parking not to bad. Turn left at the restaurant some parking space there if not you can park at morrisons. 2 min walk.
One of the best Chinese restaurant in Leeds and I strongly recommend it. The price is acceptable also both environments and services are perfect. This is always a good choice no matter you eat with couple friends or family . Nice to try
Nice atmosphere with friendly service the food is absolutely delicious one of the best Chinese restaurants in Leeds.
Good fish!tasty!
Friendly staffs! Especially James, lovely!
We added some vegetables to the fish but there are only a few. Hope they could make progress on this!
Excellent selection of authentic Chinese food. Simple English friendly menu also available. The rice is cooked to absolute perfection.
Very friendly, courteous and helpful staff.
Ambiance not as dark as other reviews state.
We didn't have to wait long either. I will be returning to try different things.
For starter I had whole baby squid which were alright but I wouldn't order again. For main I had crispy fried beef in Cantonese sauce which was excellent.
My favourite Chinese in Leeds, absolutely all the food I've tried there is amazing, staff are lonely and friendly and it was very quick and very fresh.
Really nice Chinese restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. The atmosphere is light and relaxed. An extensive menu with a great selection of foods.
The food was tasty and portions were generous. I would recommend this place

I love the atmosphere of this restaurant
They’ve got good interior and lights which makes the place a bit more sophisticated
The staff were friendly and most of all the food was tasty
Though the prawn didn’t seem so fresh it kind of had a smell..
But the overall taste was nice
I would recommend it to the ppl who enjoy or miss Chinese food
Very delicious and tasty chinese food of all kinds. Fresh ingredients and made traditionally, authentic flavour. Staffs serving very nice and quick! An always go to restaurant for dinner. ;)
We went for a meal to celebrate a birthday last Saturday, and as usual, had a fantastic meal. Great service, great food and great value for money. They send a very loevly waffle cake with ice cream for my birthday. The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the salt pepper baby squid and steamed seabass. Definitely will be back.
Good service and very delicious food!
