Excellent brunch, delicious coffee & lovely staff. I had the Heuvos Rancheros and - I don't say this lightly - by GUM they're delicious. A filling portion of interesting and well balanced flavours, way more interesting and well balanced than this review.
Great spot for coffee, brunch and trying to make friends with the waitstaff.
Disappointingly the menu on their website wasn't reflecting latest changes and I couldn't find anything that I would really fancy for breakfast. Food served nicely but at a premium. My partner liked the fluffy pancakes, my halloumi burger was ok. £26 for two coffees and the above two items is quite a bit, considering I was hungry just 2 hours after. If my diet was meat free I would have had more options. One extra star for the best coffee I had in a long time.
Book a table! This is a great spot for brunch, but small and popular. The menu caters well for all diets and has lots of variety. Though portions are on the smaller side, everything is extremely fresh, tasty and well presented. My only feedback that's less than positive was that the music is a little too loud - a minor atmospheric tweak - but it did make brunch chatter harder than necessary. Lovely service and somewhere we will go back to.
Went tonight first time . Love the decor my kind of style . Food was lovely. Had the steak and pancakes for pudding . Lovely little find . We are already planning the next visit .
What an amazing place! The food is quite frankly some of the best I've tasted in any of the cafe's in Oakwood. Tasty and great portions. The coffee is also an absolute find! The service was great too... I'll be back!
A brilliant twist on the Full English breakfast that actually made it better in my opinion! Came with delicious pieces of foccacia bread and a delicious bean medley - one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! Friendly service and a lovely atmosphere too, can't fault it
We ordered three sides and a main for two and it was a great idea! They were all delicious - well done! 😍
Great food and coffee in a fantastic dog friendly cafe.

Friendly staff, delicious food, one of the best mochas I've had. Dog friendly is a huge added bonus.
I have been here loads of times and never been disappointed! The staff are really friendly and kind, service is really quick and the food is just beautiful. You can tell they really care. The smoothies are amazing and fresh, and the breakfasts are delicious. It's the best place to try for breakfast on Roundhay Road in my opinion.
While the menu was somewhat limited (and we were informed that this will be expanded soon) our brunch was very good and the service was excellent. They were very attentive with our 2yr old grandson and we took a wrap home for our son who was wah and he really enjoyed it saying it was lovely.
Ours was a bacon, avocado, tomato on sourdough with a lovely spicy sauce.
A great brunch.
Wow! My husband and I were at Hessian last night for the resident Chef Supper Club. Our experience was incredible. The atmosphere is wonderful, warm, welcoming staff. Great music. Fantastic cocktail on arrival. The food was sublime and plentiful. Flavours were mind blowing, beautifully presented too. The service we received from all
Staff was amazing!
I am surprised this place doesn’t have Rosettes yet. Definitely one to watch on the Leeds food scene! 👌
I’m sure they will come! Highly recommended! Thank you to Kathryn and all the team. ❤️ We will be back.
Love this place, brunch available til 5.30 which is fab! Will be back!
The most gorgeous food that I have had in a while. I highly recommend the food! It’s perfect for a casual meet up or brunch. In a good location with lots of bars etc nearby. Also the service was very good, and the staff very accommodating. I’ve been trying to come back since I last left!! Will definitely be back very soon!
Great place for breakfast in Oakwood. The menu is short but the focus means execution is excellent.
Could be improved with more options without avocado and bringing back the steak option for breakfast, but that is personal taste.
House coffee blend is distinctive, light and citrus flavours make a genuinely interesting espresso.
Very nice brunch here, definitely offers something different from the plethora of other cafes within spitting distance. It’s not a massive place, so it does get busy, but the staff are friendly and will help squeeze you in somewhere. GF pancakes are very good, as is the coffee.
came here once because I was starving and it was one of few places with a table available.
I am in LOVE with the food here. the burritos are so nice & the nachos with guac was soooo good. the burrito’s are a bit big & I would suggest sharing if you don’t have the biggest appetite (ended up only finishing half).
do not skip on dessert here. they have this thing which has ice-cream & brownie bits & biscoff. amazing.
went here for breakfast a few days after my first visit and had the halloumi on brioche bun. amazing. the food is consistently good.
I did not love the coffee I had (it was a little acidic in my opinion) but my friend did like her’s so maybe it was a me-thing.
lovely staff as well.
Had brunch at Hessian today. Flat iron steak with fries and a salad. Steak cooked well (rare), garlic buttery sauce was excellent and the minty/yogurty salad dressing was really nice. Service was on point and staff we really friendly. Could do with getting an automatic door closer for chilly days but didn't detract much from an excellent experience
