Great Steak and Bloody Good Value on a Wednesdy Night!
Good service from happy staff and relaxed atmosphere. Bargain at half price on the day we were there. Not quiet but lots of space.
One of the finest restaurants and if you are around try to get served by Nicola the super women of hospitality .Mind blowing experience and must must visit if you are in Leeds or probably stop by if crossing Leeds .
Excellent ambiance, great cocktails, wide and varied menu cooked to perfection!! Served by attentive staff who knew what they were talking about. I eat there frequently and would recommend to everyone.
Good food. Okay-ish but friendly service. Beautiful restaurant. Make sure your waiter has understood your order, otherwise you might risk a longer wait time if you get the wrong plate or wrongly cooked steak. The prices were fine. Register (for free) for their club IR app to get 15% discount on specific days of the week (Tuesday was mine).
Just would like to add my experience. Anyone considering wanting to book for any event or just to dine please do not hesitate and book. We dined on new year's Eve and we had the most lovely experience. I don't think it'd be appropriate to mention name's but 3 waiters looked after us that night and they were lovely and fantastic at their job. Our English isn't the best as we come from a french background but one waiter in particular sat with us and translated anything we struggled with throughout the night and made sure to translate it right back to the other waiters and bar. It was a bit loud but understandable as it was new years eve and everyone came out to have fun. You can tell the chefs love to do their job as the food was excellent and worth every penny. Drinks were amazing and was very fast paced couldn't ask for a better night. Anyway I could praise the waiters would be lovely but overall 100/10 experience!
We were in Leeds (for football game v Blackburn Rovers) and went to the old post building after match. The bar was full so sat outside in the sun and had some tapas: hummus, tempura prawns and french fries along with some beers. The atmosphere was lovely and enjoyable and reasonably priced .So much so, we returned the following day and had the exact same snacks again .
Lorna, the server was really nice and attentive. Would recommend the restaurant to all.
Will come back the next time in Leeds!
A lovely Birthday experience.
Jodi&her team excel in looking after the customer&making sure everything is just right.
Fantastic service from our waiter.
What a wonderful old building. The old Post Office is quite something. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the waiter was happy to recommend a red that was better than the Rioja I'd selected. And it wasn't any more expensive!
Had an amazing heritage beetroot starter and a sharing steak. Very good. Recommended.
Visited yesterday evening, lovely service, starters we beautiful especially the crab, however I ordered a medium wagyu, it came well done and no steak knife. Black Cod was good, also the sharing dessert.
Would we return, yes. Food came out fast which was brilliant. And the fresh orange juice was
extremely nice (I am very picky with fresh juice)
A regular haunt of mine. Everything exceptional as usual. The new transformation after the extensive alterations are wonderful. Sitting out in the sun on the terrace one of the best in Leeds. New Food and drinks menu looks tasty can't wait to work my way through it.
Absolutely faultless. We’d gone celebrating my boyfriends birthday, couldn’t have chosen a better place. The food was excellent, beautifully presented, served and cooked perfectly. Staff were amazing, polite but also warm, and lovely to talk to. They’d even brought out a dessert with a little chocolate that said ‘Happy Birthday’ and a candle for my boyfriend without even being asked to. The atmosphere is also brilliant, we’d gone on a Friday night and they had a DJ on the balcony for the music, which made it a really nice atmosphere. A really lovely experience, where you feel like you’re looked after amazingly well, but it doesn’t in any way feel uptight. Everything was really reasonably priced as well, for both the quality of the food, service and atmosphere.
Absolute hats off to everyone who is part of this place, we were all blown away. Thank you so much! :)
I'm not a "fine diner" so my views may not be too other people's standards.
We went as part of a works night out, the place is lovely and the staff were brilliant. We were given a pre selected menu with (I think) 4 items on each course too choose from.
I had French onion soup, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I have no frame of reference to judge the soup by other than tinned, but I enjoyed it.
For main I requested a blue steak, it was medium, very nice still but definitely not blue. One of my colleagues asked for a rare steak again, it was medium. Disappointing but it was still very tasty.
Dessert was cheesecake which was nice. Not a home sized portion, but when are they ever.
Merlot was good, again I'm no connoisseur, but I found it to be very good.
At the end of the day, I didn't pay for anything, so it feels wrong to bemoan the experience.
Would I go back and pay my own way?
No, I don't think I would.
It could have been down to being very busy and us being a group of about 20, who knows?
A lovely evening with impeccable service from our waiter Alfie! The food was divine we ordered the festive menu which was three courses and every dish was gorgeous and came out promptly. The duck spring rolls and sauce were delicious,My steak was cooked to perfection and the brownie so gooey. Also the wine was lovely. Definitely somewhere to go as a treat as not cheap but definitely worth the price!

Fantastic scent as you walk in, yes scent! Front of House cannot be faulted. From their geeting to their seating, absolutely perfect. The food has been delicious every time I visited. With the service second to none, although I think Earl Grey Tea should be back on the menu! It's my guilty little secret, and now you all know about it!
A visit to Leeds found our party of 6 having evening dinner at The Restaurant Bar and Grill and overall, this was a very good experience.
This was my first time at the restaurant but some of our party had been before and recommended that we returned this particular evening due to their positive experience previously.
Located in the old Post Office building the restaurant has a fantastic and prominent location within the city. It is also in easy walking distance of all city centre hotels and the train station.
This restaurant can cope with large numbers of customers with its ample outdoor seating in-conjunction with the inside tables both upstairs and down. There is in addition a private dining room for hire should you require.
We were seated upstairs near the bar and overlooking the downstairs area. This is a modern and well maintained restaurant designed and fitted out to high standards.
From arriving at our table our waiter was very attentive, friendly and had a great sense of humour. There is an excellent wine, cocktail and general drinks menu and this is coupled by an equally excellent food menu. I found it hard to choose as there was so many things that I fancied.
A three course dinner was had by most of our party and a wide range of food was sampled. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and collectively we had a fantastic evening at this restaurant.
I would certainly revisit The Restaurant Bar and Grill when next in Leeds and can strongly recommend you give it a try. A great place with excellent service and first class staff.
My family had a fabulous experience at the newly refurbished Leeds restaurant.
The new design and decor is gorgeous.
Staff wise it was it was lovely to see many returning faces , of excellent familiar staff, who along with the new staff, gave an outstanding service.
As always the food was delicious.
We are so happy our favourite restaurant is open once again.
Here’s to a long and successful journey.
Our go to place when in the City. Always well looked after by Jodie and her team. Even though the sun had gone behind the buildings it’s still a lovely place to just sit with a bottle of Veuve on ice and soak up the atmosphere. Same time next week

We were among the 100 or so guests invited to the relaunch of The Restaurant Bar and Grill Leeds and boy were we spoiled. Free flowing fizz, lager and Aperol along with endless delicious canapés made for an enjoyable and successful night. It was lovely to see the staff, many of which I consider to be friends now after the many years visiting this establishment. The makeover is very stylish with upmarket finishing touches all around and the terrace has the addition of corner booths with comfortable cushioned seating. If your heading into Leeds be sure to make here you first and last stop 🥂
Excellent over all. The food was superb crispy salt & pepper ribs and tempura prawns to start, followed by steak and lobster. All done to perfection. The main didn't look like a lot of food when it came out but once we started tucking in we quickly became full. The service was great, staff all excellent. My only criticism was we were left unattended at the end of the meal for longer than I would have liked. Having to track down a member of staff to pay the bill and get going was the only gripe. Would have been 5 stars otherwise. Overall experience excellent and would recommend or return without hesitation.
The steak tartare to start was super nice. The Asian Platter really does have too much batter that it takes away from the rest of the food - would not recommend this dish for that reason. The lobster was a great dish that was cooked well with a great flavour.
We ate at RBG when they had 50% or all food as a January offer. The food was excellent, as it was on a recent visit in December 2023. The surroundings are stunning and the service is good if perhaps slightly impersonal - which is perhaps unavoidable in such a large restaurant. The reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that, even allowing for the location and the setting, without the January discount it is quite pricey. But if you want good food in impressive surroundings in the middle of Leeds, it ticks all the boxes.
Well this picture should say it all.
It was a birthday treat for my partner at the Leeds Restaurant Bar and Grill and it turned out to be a great choice.
It's an impressive room, superbly decorated and the staff are attentive from the minute you walk through the door,
greeting us at the entrance to check our 6pm booking and present us with a card for our tab at the bar.
Seated at the bar I started with just a Moretti, I was thirsty, and my partner had Victoria's Secret cocktail. Around 15 minutes later we were informed that our table was ready and taken to our booth style seats.
For starters my partner had the Asparagus and I the Argyll smoked Salmon and a sharing plate of sourdough bread.
Both were generous portions and very flavourful.
Main course we opted for the 800g Porthouse steak with miso butter and peppercorn sauces with sides of tenderstem broccoli and fries.
The steak was cooked to perfection, soft, succulent and just melted in your mouth. We were very pleased with our choice.
We were too full to have a desert but a complimentary 'celebration cake' was presented to my partner which we both shared.
The whole experience was very relaxing and the service was excellent made all the better for the Wednesday night deal of have price bottles of wine!
A lovely evening and would not hesitate to go back. I would imagine that it gets quite busy on a weekend. We went midweek and by the time we left, around 8:30pm it was getting busier so if you prefer a quite meal then midweek would suit you better.
