Charming and offers a lovely atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating area. It's perfect for families, shining especially bright in the sunlight. A fantastic spot for a relaxed meal.

We have eaten at this pub a few times now and always really enjoyed the food. More recently we were kindly invited to try out some of the gorgeous new menu (August 2023) a we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. So much so they wondered if they even needed to clean our plates 😅🤩 We enjoyed; Sharing Plates of Paneer Kebab (Roasted paneer and mushroom kebab drizzled with a yoghurt & coriander coulis) & Sea Bream (Pan roasted sea bream, with stir fried vegetables in a soy & ginger broth). Both REALLY tasty. The paneer was marinated in Indian spices and the coulis went really well with it – I always love good chunks of paneer! The Sea Bream skin was crispy and the fish cooked beautifully and the broth that the vegetables came in was delicious. Sausage & Mash. Quality meaty sausages and lots of creamy mash and thick onion gravy – beautiful. Chicken Schnitzel (served with fries and salad). I am still dreaming about this fabulous MASSIVE schnitzel. The breadcrumb coating was so buttery and delicious – you have to try this, it’s superb. Triple Choc Brownie with Vanilla ice cream – sooooo dreamy and so good. See how happy my faec is below haha. The menu includes; mains such as Fish & Chips, Burgers, Carbonara (which looked a popular choice and I would like to try this next time)etc ranging in price from £11.50 – £16.50, Sharing Plates such as Chorizo, Padron Peppers, Prawns etc priced between £4 – £7.50 and Desserts such as Cheesecake, Sticky Toffee Pudding etc priced from £4.95 – £6.50… and don’t forget they do Sunday Dinners too… (keep reading!) If you’re coming here for Sunday dinner I would advise to book (and be aware the car park is a little tight) as the pub seemed a very popular place indeed and all for good reason. Four of us went for Sunday dinner and we all went for the roast lamb! The lamb didn’t occur a surcharge which was great to see as a lot of other pubs/restaurants would charge more for lamb if they even have it on the menu at all, so we were really pleased about this. Other meats on the Sunday Roast Menu were beef or pork loin (you can get all three meats for an extra £2) and they also have a vegetarian Nut Roast option (£14.95). All meals are served with garlic & rosemary roast potatoes, creamed leeks, stuffing, roasted caramelised carrots, savoy cabbage, Yorkshire pudding and stock pot gravy – all for £15.95 / £8.95 kids. There was absolutely nothing to fault with these Sunday Roasts. I loved how much veg there was (picture taken in 2022 so veg options may have changed). Everything was tasty, comforting, cooked really well and went down a treat with everybody. I would definitely recommend visiting for a meal here. The staff were really friendly and helpful as well as the food being perfect.

Have eaten here multiple times and I have to say this is one of the best pubs I’ve ever been to, from the changing seasonal atmosphere and menus to the friendly staff and amazing drink choice. This pub has not let me down once, my only regret is that I can’t eat here more often!

Love this pub. It's like the perfect pub should you look for a definition in the dictionary. Popped in Halloween for a drink with the family. The work these guys put in to the decor is phenomenal!

Someone knows what they are doing back in the kitchen. Food was well prepared and seasoned, high quality, and served hot. The service was spot on as well! We walked nearly 30 mins and back on the public paths and trails to get there. You can drive too, of course. A nice treat.

We were looking for a pub with nice food and a good outdoor play area and we found one. The staff were friendly and although it was busy, the service was quick. There's a good selection of food and the items we ordered were delicious.

I was recommend this place by someone else and it did not disappoint! I went seeking a nice hearty lunch and the food was very delicious. The pie pastry was perfect and the filling even better. I had the apple crumble for desert and I think it's one of the best apple crumbles I've ever had. The waiter and waitresses were all very helpful and friendly and the pub has the rustic ambiance and charm of a country pub. I will definitely be returning

First visit in a very long time, staff were very friendly, small menu but well presented. The only thing for us that it was very quiet and on the cool side on a cold day, which is not the best time to judge. Food was nice, service was good, so all in all we were happy going back there.

It would have been the perfect meal, only disappointing because the mange tout hadn't been stringed first, but the chicken, leek & mushroom pie was really tasty, as were the seasonal veg and mash. Hubby had the katsu curry, which had loads of chicken, and was demolished very quickly. My eldest daughter had the fish & chips and they looked AMAZING! The price was very reasonable, in line with most mid range pubs, but with superior food.

Really lovely old pub set in very nice area. Gardens were lovely as well. On the day we visited there was a marquee outside with greek food. Had gyros , chicken and halloumi ones, stuffed vine leaves and lamb koftas. All very good. Dog friendly.

Probably the best chicken pie, I’ve ever had! Everything about the food was perfect and worth the little bit of a wait. My mum had fish and chips and was equally impressed. Nice traditional pub opposite a cricket green, not sure it gets more Yorkshire than this. One complaint was terrible coke, not coke or even Pepsi but a really bad cola. In all fairness they took it straight off the bill. Staff were friendly and polite, amazing food and definitely worth a visit.

Very friendly staff, great choice of beer and food. We sat outside and had the tapas/snack menu and a couple of salads which was more than enough. Well cooked and presented and extremely tasty. Great prices too. Unfortunately the photos are when we had nearly finished as it was soo good I forgot to take them at the start!
