We had our anniversary meal with you on Saturday. The food was nothing short of spectacular. Perfectly prepared/presented and the flavours were beautifully matched. I felt the need to personally thank the chefs, Our server Jamie was attentive & enthusiastic & I was pleasantly surprised at the bill. 8 dishes & 2 cocktails came in at just over £100. Would highly recommend and you'll be seeing a lot more of us, Thanks for making our anniversary a gastromic experience xx
We went for a valentines set menu, £42 pp. the setting was perfect, very low lit and intimate, service excellent the waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable and the food was top class. Sushi was so fresh, it was amazing. My only quibble was that we had to order extra food as we didn’t feel full up from the set menu and for the price I was expecting to be satisfied.
Beautiful food and atmosphere. The staff were lovely. As a fussy eater I thought I would struggle with the menu but the waitress talked me through the menu and what I would like. Great evening with friends

The food, service & ambiance is always awesome... apart from ordering the wrong Bao Buns so we couldn’t have them on our last two visits as we’re vegan.
No doubt about it ~ we’re all planning on many more visits!! ✌🏻

Amazing food, the flavours sensational.
The staff were attentive explaining the whole menu to us. Helped us choose if asked. They were friendly, professional and speedy when needed but we also felt able to enjoy our meal at our pace.
Visited when first opened and again last night. One of the best restaurants and bars in Leeds for me, amazing food and friendly staff. D&D do it well
Beautiful restaurant. Amazing service and food. We had a £20 Bento box each with wine. They were very good at explaining the menu. Pricey for mains but would definitely go again for a special dinner.

We love Japanese food anyway and Isshoo won't disappoint food lovers, lots of smaller dishes make for a oriental banquet it was just the ticket. Drinks menu also pretty good with a few Suntory Whisky's to dabble with.
Great place. Was too late to eat. Sunday early close. Had drinks out on the veranda. Lovely and warm with patio heaters. Will be back soon xx

It is very well managed for a restaurant so new, everything works well. Good food, nice ambience, and most importantly, wonderful staff. A very nice addition to the Leeds food scene for a long while.

Had a lovely meal here, we had the lunch menu we enjoyed it very much, I would like to return sometime to try their other menus, it’s a shame they don’t do the pre-theatre menu at Saturday lunchtime as The Grand often have matinee performances.
Leeds’ booming food scene now includes Issho, a contemporary Japanese rooftop restaurant and bar located at Victoria Gate. This latest venture by luxury restaurant group D&D London is accessed via a lift to the third floor or up a spectacular spiral staircase. The whole development is an architectural stunner but Issho’s presence is understated, giving it an air of exclusivity. Once we spotted the signs on the ground floor and again at the entrance, we felt as though we had found a hidden gem.
Impeccable food, drink, atmosphere and rooftop views. Superb sushi. Can’t rate the food and service highly enough and will definitely return. I’ve posted some photos which speak volumes.
There are only two very small points of caution. We visited for lunch and had the set menu which was great value for such high quality, BUT we really felt the drinks when it came to the bill. As a party of 5 we had 5 water refills at the table and didn’t realise we were drinking and paying £5 for still bottled water. Plus the wine was pretty expensive, so we ended up paying more than double the food on drink, despite drinking fairly modestly. Just watch out for the water if your server doesn’t make it clear what you’re drinking and be prepared for a chi chi city centre drinks price tag. We paid £57 per head without service having had the brilliant £22 for 3 courses lunch menu
All that being said, don’t let that put you off. It is wonderful and I’ll definitely go back. The lunch menu is fantastic
Had a wonderful time here about a week ago for my boyfriend’s birthday. It was my gift to him and so I had high hopes and Issho did not disappoint. The food was incredible, service was fantastic (obviously a strong team all supporting each other), and the wine and sake pairings really pulled the experience all together. A real treat and would definitely revisit next time we’re in Leeds. Because we booked via Virgin Experience Days, the service was taken off the bill automatically but we paid 15% of the actual value of the meal in cash as it was so well deserved.
What a lovely experience. The mojito was the best I’ve ever had in Leeds. The Ginger beer based mocktail was perfect. The appetisers were freshly prepared and delicious. All the staff were very friendly and made the experience even lovelier. This is my new favourite spot.
Update 10/05/23 Visited for the second time and the service was 5*. I loved everything.
Wow where do we start. Our waitress was really nice very helpful. The food was fantastic, we decided to go for the Emporer set menu what a great choice. We had sushi, fried chicken with wassbi mayonnaise black cod, steak, calamari and the deserts were really tasty. Pricey per person but the food and presentation was really good.
An amazing meal, very well presented and very tasty. We ordered the Emperor Menu for 3 people and it was very good there were many dishes to try including sushi, Bao Buns, Squid, Steak and even more. Every dish was amazing it continued to get better after each one. I don't think I could pick a favourite as it was just that good. The waiters were very attentive and professional too, and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely come back again.
1st visiton arrival took the stairs to the rooftop restraunt led to the table outside then had the afternoon tea the person who looked after us was Helen who made our experience of the afternoon tea great she was warm and welcoming the Japanese afternoon tea was great highly recommend
We went here on a Saturday night, all of the food was delicious, our favourite dish was the crispy beef! The staff are super friendly. We had a very enjoyable time. We would also recommend the Dragon Tiger sushi and the Pork Bao buns! However for the spicy pork buns they could’ve been more spicy. It was £74 for all of this (pictures included)

Teste was perfect. Personnel was kind and professional (thanks to Cheenee). Service definitely deserves 5 stars. On the other hand, it is not the best in terms of view if this is the expectation. I was expecting a nice city view at the level of such a restaurant, as they placed the restaurant on the 3rd floor.
Amazing. Purely amazing! We went for a birthday meal, came a bit early and had a drink on the balcony with a lovely cocktail. We were then moved into the main dining room with a huge open kitchen where you could see the chefs freshly preparing the food. Our lovely server Cheenee was fantastic and gave such great and attentive service. We opted for the middle of the road set meal for £50 per person along with the wine and sake pairing for each course.
The food was sublime. There was a range of food such as sushi, bao buns, duck and this lovely dessert which was like a panna cotta with caramel on top. Cheenee then brought my partner out a lovely birthday cocktail and small extra dessert on the house for her birthday. All the food was stunning and service was great too!
I can’t recommend this place enough for a special event or occasion. Overall, a lovely evening with great company, excellent food and lovely service.
Beautiful restaurant in Leeds will definitely have to call back again and try the food.
Just called in for a drink and found it very relaxing.
The food here was great, such a wide variety. Plenty of options for vegan / vegetarians. My favourite dish was the cauliflower karaage. All of this was matched by the quality of drinks and cocktails. Loved the open kitchen and it added to the ambiance. Can't wait to go back.
I just want to start off by saying it was my first time going to this restaurant and I am not usually one to give reviews but I had to after the service I received. I hope I’m spelling her name correctly but Cheenee was the best server I could’ve asked for. The food was good but I wouldn’t say it was 10/10 however the service Cheenee delivered was beyond outstanding. Me and my friend went around midday and she was super helpful and welcoming - we were both super pleased with her work ethic.
PS: if this is her manager reading please give her a raise because she’s a good one!
Fantastic. Got to sit in outside bar while we waited for the table which was a great setting. We’ll looked after by the staff.
The food was amazing, tried a big variety and everything was tasty, they explained what everything was and the sauces they had to compliment everything were great.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Emperor Menu for a special birthday celebration. Excellent service by Pavlina O and brilliant atmosphere. Fantastic.
Food is good, can get a little smokey when busy since kitchen is open.
Booked a social events for colleagues at work. Asked for a deposit which I paid straight away. Very helpful booking team.

Food was great, tasty, they had prepared it before we arrived (part of the arrangement for large bookings).
Only 1/2 of us got food poisoning, but I am ok so totally worth it.
