Fantastic find

A fantastic find in the heart of Leeds. Real ales were on the menu. Plenty to choose from. Very friendly clientele. We shared a table with strangers. Highly recommended

As others have said, you have a choice between Whitelock’s and The Turk’s Head, especially when the former is crowded. The latter being the high end spot, it’s the desired place for a meal or a quieter pint. Both have an amazing vibe, inside and out, and aren’t easy to find, being at the end of a narrow alley. Great ale options as well as draft (lager) options. Food menu is top notch, leaning towards upscale. Even though the vibe and the staff are pretty chill, the food is next level. Super fresh fish. Super fresh beer. A couple great spots!

A great old traditional pub. What a fun old place! I got the ploughman's board, consisting of meat, cheese, bread, spread, and a pork pie. Mom had the fish and chips. Both were pretty amazing! The bathroom was old and great too

Glad I made a reservation. It wasn't full when I arrived but the restaurant part of the pub filled up pretty quick. I enjoyed the black pudding scotch egg and steak and ale pie. Service was quick too. Only complaint I had was I wished it was a bit brighter inside. Thankfully phone cameras are a minor miracle of science so I got some pictures of the food.

Turned down a small alley and found this gem of a place. Packed out even mid week. Nice little ornate place with copper topped bar and a good selection of real ale. I only had a drink but will be back for food and more beer

The oldest pub in Leeds, a great place to meet friends, the good is very good and tasty. A very nice atmosphere in the place, I would imagine at night time it is be buzzing.

We booked for Sunday lunch as we had heard good things. The meat and Yorkshire's did not disappoint. The veg was slightly soft for my liking but the gravy made up for that. We had parkin for dessert and it was incredible. Good range of beers on offer and the service was excellent. The interior itself is beautiful. One warning is that the stairs to the toilets are pretty steep.

This ancient pub is situated amongst the back alleys of Leeds City Centre You wouldn't know it was there unless you're a local or find it on Google. It's one of Leeds best kept secrets. A good old fashioned ale House with a great vibe and friendly strangers!!! Ive been coming here since I was a student back in the 1980s and it hasn't changed a bit.. one of the best pubs in the country.. and the ale is great too!!!

In all the years I've visited Whitelocks I've never actually eaten here. I heard good things but it was great! The food was delicious. The service was spot on and the atmosphere was cosy, charming and inviting. Everything you need for a Christmas lunch.

Beautiful old pub in the heart of Leeds, great atmosphere and service and the food was even better than expected. Definitely recommend the fish and chips and forcing a pudding in as you won't regret it!
