The restaurant was very busy when we went in but someone came to us straight away and assured us we'd get a table within 30 minutes. We got a drink at the bar and within 15 minutes the waiter found a table for us outside. Despite it being freezing outside the patio heaters made it a cozy atmosphere.
The food didn't take too long to arrive and when it did it was superb even though I usually eat meat based dishes. My pint of Bombay Dazzler was the perfect accompaniment to this great food.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone
Absolutely blown away by this gorgeous hidden gem; the flavors, the smells, the whole ambience was beautiful. Definitely coming back, would recommend the £7 Lunch Express deal, bit of everything and you can share it :) Masala Dosa was delicious and that coconut and lime chutney...to die for! Will be back for more!
Big Love x
Absolutely love this place. Food is just out of this world. You can taste all the flavours in the dish individually. If this is vegetarian food i would take this alllllll day long. Staff are just fabulous too. So friendly and helpful. Easily better than the place next door. Come and visit you will not be disappointed. Xxxx
My favourite place to eat in Leeds. I can't decide whether it would be a good or bad thing if they ever open a place nearer to where I live because right now it's such a treat for us! Vada Pav is definitely my favourite dish.
Lovely lunch with family. So great to have Indian Vegetarian food served in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Friendly, helpful staff, everone’s food tasty, well cooked and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.
Amazing food, great atmosphere, i was meeting my partner at the station so popped into see how long the wait for a table would be, was 10-15min he said he would put me on the waiting list and id be first on the list when i got back. Brilliant customer service and great staff cant recommend enough.
We had lunch here yesterday we had bahjis okra fingers dahl it was all amazing.
We finished off with a mocktail very very nice.
The staff are very attentive but the food is just yo die for.
Well done x
Popped in for early dinner on Wednesday about 4ish.
Wow, what a find: excellent Indian street food (I’d normally run a mile at the thought of a veggie meal); totally fabulous food and craft ales to die for.
Brilliant job guys. I’ll be back
I absolutely love this place. For someone who is gluten free this place is amazing. They cover a wide range of food and beers.
Great place food outstanding and great value - when are you opening one in London plus where can I buy Chi Cider !!
Brilliant Sunday brunch. Gray food great dinks and great staff. A treat . 👍
Remains one of our absolute favourites among Leeds beer and food venues. Never yet failed to hit the spot!
What a perfect place to have snacks ..
the combination of dishes are quite different as compared to Indian outlet.. so delicious and mouth watering dishes are in their menu ..
Dive into flavors from different parts of India with the 10 dishes for £40 meal deal @ bundobust 🍜🍲🌯🍡😍😍
1) Ambiance: 0.75/1 - Cozy but funky with their jute sack cushions
2) Food: 0.75/1 - Small portions but good taste. Do not miss their Bundo Chaat, Chole bhature? Egg bhurji, Vad pav and Okra fries
3) Service: 0.75/1 - quick and friendly but might take a while to get a table (they don't do bookings)
4) Innovation & technique : 0.75/1 - The concept of 'Craft beer with Indian Street food' really works well and the place normally fills up fast in evenings.
5) VFM : 0.5/1 - Their portion of food is not as much as we would like but that actually helps people try more varieties in small quantities.
Overall: 3.5/5 - Definitely recommended for Indian food lovers over a pint of beer 😊
Well, there are few things in life more certain than being disappointed by an over-hyped, over-played and over-done restaurant. It happens all the time – a new place opens, everybody gets all excited about it, but it turns out to be just OK … not bad, not good, just OK, the sort of place that I just can’t bring myself to write about because it’s so, well, dull.
Thank goodness for Twitter. When I took a recent work trip to Leeds, I asked local blogger Rihanna for recommendations on where to eat. A couple of others waded in and everyone seemed to rate Bundobust, a little Indian street kitchen a stone's throw from the main train station. As I was with a vegetarian colleague, and Bundobust is completely meat-free, we headed down pre-meeting for a spot of lunch.
...Bundobust street fodder was just the ticket. The excitement - well my excitement - around Bundobust has been rumbling on now for some 18 months or so, and from nothing more than rumours on the internet, and humble beginnings as 'pop up' purveyors (all here ), Bundobust is now established as one of the coolest and trendiest bars/eateries in Leeds. And cool and trendy it is indeed. Indian influenced wiring dangles exposed light bulbs from the ceilings, and ramshackle wall furniture made from old doors, are, I guess supposed to be reminiscent of some Mumbai slum or other. Bundobust is positioned in the bottom(ish) part of town, near the train station which, perhaps, is not historically one of the most salubrious areas of town, but is now much improved, and close to the new Trinity Centre, and also the likes of Laynes Espresso and Friends of Ham.
We loved it. The food was delicious, served in small plates, the beer selection was great and the staff was very friendly. I cannot recommend it enough.
I haven’t been to a Bundobust for ages but absolutely love this Indian street food restaurant, tucked away not far from Leeds Railway Station. It was pretty warm when we arrived so it was great to be able to sit “outside”but under cover.
Everything on the menu looked so delicious with firm favourites such as Vada Pav on offer.
We had some of the snacks then 4 dishes between two, plus a mango lassi for approximately £33 which I thought excellent value. Portions are generous so although the menu suggests 2-3 dishes per person we didn’t manage to finish it all.
The staff are great and very knowledgeable. It’s a lovely welcoming atmosphere and very relaxed.
Order at the bar and the food is brought out to your table.
Toilet facilities (washrooms) are unisex and located towards the rear of the restaurant.
We visited on a Sunday but I noticed that they have a lunchtime express menu on weekdays which looked tasty and good value.
Highly recommended!
Meaning to go and sample … went for a brunch … amazing! 90 mins of great food and drink in a lovely chilled environment! Best brunch in Leeds! Please do again
I've been here before and I've come back time and time again.
The atmosphere here is great and to go with that, the food is incredible! You wouldn't even guess it's all vegetarian, it is that good! Some very different flavours and a great choice of beers to finish it off!
This restaurant is also a great place for a hang out! Chill!
A fantastic restaurant in the centre of Leeds. There is a great selection of classic Indian street food which all tastes incredible. There is no meat on the menu and that is not an issue as all the dishes are filled with flavour and you are spoilt for choice. A great place for food in Leeds and you will have to book to ensure you can get in.
Near instant service with some of the best vegetarian street food snacks I've ever had. So many delicious tapas style snacks to share. The combos are very good value and are generously portioned. Our food for 4 could have done 5 probably.
Great option for vegetarians as everything on the menu is either vegetarian or vegan!
We shared 4 dishes between 2 people which was still a filling lunch.
A great range of beers on tap. Shame they only had one non-alcoholic beer option, bottled Lucky Saint in the fridge, but lots of non-alcoholic cocktails, as well as mango lassi on their menu.
They only had room for us outside in their courtyard, but it was covered, and heated, so it was plenty warm enough to sit outside there on a cold day.
Excellent and bustling place. Couldn't choose, so went for the combo and it was all delicious and all dishes were very different from each other. To have amazing craft ale with it was the icing on the cake. Brilliant!
Excellent food, we did the set menu for 4 and it was excellent 👌 always an excellent array of beers to choose from, and very friendly helpful staff.
Friendly, authentic street food cafe / restaurant. Excellent aromatic flavours, recently visited by Rick Stein. Moderately priced. Worth noting they dont take cash. Will definitely return there soon.
Great food selection, especially if you order the deal for 4 where you get a bit of everything. A couple of items were forgotten from our order and the cocktails are quite expensive for the amount provided but overall it was a decent experience.
My favourite street food spot in Leeds, hands down. Just go try it, you won't regret it.
The stars speak for themselves really.
Everything was excellent.
If they managed to improve upon anything next time I visited I would be astonished as every aspect of this meal was superb.
This place saved us on a busy Saturday night out in Leeds waiting for a club to open. Delicious food, cute decor. Order at the bar-type layout, works well and you get your food super fast. Pictured is the vegan combo for 2 - so much food I'm sure it'd suit 3 people! But delicious!
Great place! Food is very tasty and beers are amazing! Staff is very friendly and open to answer your questions
Loved this place for a quick lunch. Tasty and well prepared. Simple presentation. Cider was surprisingly ok. (I don't generally like "flavoured" Cider)
Stunning. Love visiting here when in Manchester. Dishes are really reasonably priced. Food comes in good time. Love that they do a decent selection of mocktails as well as the normal alcoholic beverages because I’m not a big drinker. You might have to share tables with other diners but that’s the vibe.
Sorry my pic is not very good - was too busy eating!
Lovely food, cool place and great value for money.
Came here as a part of a pre-Diwali lunch with the team. The menu is extensive and a number of us commenting that there is quite a lot they wanted to try. Genuine Gujarati flavours: spice, sweetness and heat. The street food here is designed to tantalise the taste buds. Had aloo paratha, bundo chat and tadka daal, all tasted authentic and good. One comment the tadka daal need a little more tadka for me. Brilliant selection of beers which really completes the experience. Recommend to anyone particularly to those who want to experience vegetarian food where you don't even miss the meat. I will definitely be returning
