Super venue. Can’t believe we’ve never been here and it’s been open for 3 years. This bistro style venue has a good feel about it from the start, it’s really funky. I liked the smart and short selection of wine, to challenge us. All the food that we had was extrenly fresh cooked superbly and tasted excellent. I’d highly recommend it! Service was top notch and the price very reasonable. Can’t believe I’m moving back to London so soon! Thanks.
Absolutely loved the attention to detail tonight at this fabulous place in Leeds! My son has brought us here a couple of times now and the food and customer service has always been exceptional! Tonight was even more so! I was treated to a complimentary glass of fizz for my birthday and due to some quite drastic dietary requirements, the dishes were altered to accommodate these! They even designed an extra special dessert for me! Thank you so much I can’t recommend this place more highly
We've eaten in alot of good restaurants and some elements of this meal were outstanding. We loved the starter and main courses; the pigeon was amazing. I had serious pudding envy when my partners pecan pie came out as it was incredible (he didnt like the sour cream with it) but I wasn't very keen on my nougatine desert. That said...the food spoke for itself and we had a fabulous dining experience.
I had read the reviews so thought I would give it a go, my wife has allergies and I rang to explain this, I then emailed them her choice of food and they adapted her meal accordingly it's not a massive menu but they also have a good sized specials board, a lovely setting, chilled out vibe, friendly and attentive staff and the food & wine didn't disappoint, we will be visiting again
Delicious meal last night at Ox Club, duck eggs and halibut were seriously good but the most surprising was the cheese board. The little pickled garlic flower seeds (?) on the side, wow! Great new menu.
Mother of all brunches! Pretty much had everything on the menu between us, all was amazing especially the chicken & French toast, lovely friendly staff in spite of a busy service, lively and warm atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
The OX Club is a breath of fresh air in a crowded but often disappointing hospitality market, if you haven't visited what are you waiting for, the food ambiance and service is second to none... I can't wait to visit again... the accolades keep on coming and the Mitchellin Guide does not list your unless you'r exceptional. #mustvisit
First chance to try the new menu... thanks so much for a really great meal. The crispy little sweet breads are delicious. Ox club you're a gem... A favourite indeed!
Fab place, great food, lovely service just a very good meal’
Excellent food and fantastic service by Alex, enjoyed a great birthday meal yesterday and will definitely be recommending and returning very soon.
Lovely staff, great atmosphere, good music and I haven’t even started on how good the food is...
Cracking, fresh, creative food served by friendly staff and an early-bird discount. Can't lose really.
Thanks to the good luck of a friend, our latest visit was as winners of the “winter feast” competition.
As ever though, the food was faultless, the service superb and the atmosphere outstanding.
The Scallop cocktail - a great play on prawn cocktail, with scallops, charred gem and Bloody Mary sauce was outstanding and the panettone with ice cream a nice festive twist for dessert.
Can’t wait to visit again in 2018!
Absolutely the best restaurant in Leeds by far. The quality of the food is unmatched, the enthusiasm and passion of the chefs shines through in everything they do, the menus are always adventurous yet approachable, the value is often hard to believe, and the service is always perfect. I have never left here without a smile on my face.
One of the best spots I’ve been to for modern British cuisine.
Ambiance: romantic but unpretentious, which lets the food speak for itself.
Food: The fries were so good we had to order another side of them. The mackerel was one of the best — if not the best — I’ve ever had. It was my first time trying a baked alaska, and that set quite a high bar as well. I hope we get to come back in the future.
Visited for the steak. Reviews were justified. I enjoyed the sirloin, which was thick and tender, with a good amount of fat and a well-executed sauce. My partner enjoyed their weekday promo of an onglet paired with peppercorn sauce and lambs lettuce. The 'Strange Kompanjie' red wine went well with both. Service bright and welcoming, ambience convivial.
The food here is just so delicious, I loved the robust flavours but it was the textures that clinched it . Everything was beautifully cooked and all supported by an esoteric wine list that included organic sulphur free wines.
The decor was brutal and as the wait for food was lengthy more comfortable chairs would have helped so take a cushion!

I have never been to the Ox Club before, so this is a very exciting experience for me. That is a very impressive accomplishment! In the beginning, I had heard some complaints about the service that was provided here, such as the staff not being friendly. As a consequence of this, I chose to go to a different location quite a few times. But! My perspective shifted after I went there for a celebration with a friend the previous month. The entirety of the staff is very warm and welcoming. Due to the fact that this is my first time doing anything, they are more than welcome to explain anything to me. The food is, without a shadow of a doubt, exceptionally mouthwatering. Even though it is a little bit costly, it is absolutely well worth the money. It is something that I think everyone should experience at least once!
This had to be the best roast I’ve eaten. The pork was so well cooked with thin crisp crackling. Wish I’d taken more pictures as it came with loads of seasonal veg and pomme anna potatoes. If you live in Leeds, lucky you. I’d definitely do the journey from Bristol again for this.

I had heard much about this wonderful restaurant in various places. From the Michelin Guide, personal recommendations and even the Off Menu podcast.
The Good
-Atmosphere. Set on the ground floor of an old industrial building that also hoises a beer hall and cocktail bar. The restaurant itself is small, intimate yet relaxed and informal. The alluring smell of wood smoke immediately hits you from their trademark smoker as you enter.
-Staff. Welcoming and fun from the get-go, the staff put us at ease, made us laugh and explained the menu well. It made for a very relaxed, enjoyable experience.
-Food. Top quality British ingredients, much of it local to Yorkshire, expertly prepared and presented. Creative use is made of the smoker.
The Bad
-Nothing really. If I have to pick, then the fact that toilets are upstairs, shared with the beerhall and, though quirky, aren't quite as 5 star as the dinner experience.
Greg's Tip
Try the Crispy Pig Tails with XO Brown Sauce, and the Smoked Beef Tartar
Good food, really nice steak. The oyster though a little disappointing in terms of size. Overall great place, nice service.
Tasty, unique and special. Reservation is required. It is a restaurant with few but comfortably arranged tables. Kind and friendly staff. We plan to have dinner again soon.
The staff were wonderful and accommodating, friendly, helpful and made it a joy to eat there. The food really was delicious and well thought out- even a small dish of beef dripping deep fried artichokes (I’m not doing it justice) were amazing. It’s more than I’d usually pay for a meal, but it was definitely reasonably priced for a special occasion and not ridiculous.
It’s definitely 5* experience overall. I only gave it 4/5 for atmosphere, because of the location of the restaurant being in the same building as a loud bar and a slight shame parking not closer, but it didn’t change the enjoyment at all and the atmosphere in the restaurant itself was lovely.
First time: The food is really good! And you must try it! But they don't seem to take the whole experience into consideration. We walked in at 16.55 and were asked to go out again, which was a bit awkward and unnecessary. With a little push, this place could become much more professional.
Second time: The food is still very good! I know the chef's changed but Cote de Boeuf was just as tasty, or even better than the last time we tried it! One minor downside: they changed the peppercorn sauce that comes with CdB with sth else but I definitely loved the peppercorn sauce better. Right now, they're offering this Ox tongue starter, which is subtly sauced and bedded on green lentils. Try it when you can! Their potatoes are so delicious and well-baked, even a person who doesn't like potatoes very much like me, would appreciate them. Burnt Basque cheese cake is nothing special in itself but the poached rhubarb gives it the tangy twist it needs. Other than that, the rhubarb was not poached well enough and was still tough in texture. Now these are such tiny details, right? Perhaps so, but to me, they create the real difference.
