Stayed here whilst attending Whitby Goth weekend, ideally situated near the train station to take you in and out of Whitby.
Beautiful friendly country pub serving fresh food cooked to order. The en-suite rooms were perfect.
Would highly recommend and will definitely return!
7 of us stayed here on for 3 nights as we were attending my cousins wedding up the road whilst visiting from Australia. Karen and Al are the most friendly, hospitable people. We felt very looked after and attended to. We arrived late after the kitchen closed and they were kind enough to make us som
Wonderful stop.
Lovely village, well positioned, great staff and the vegetable soup and crusty beef roll were a delight
Price was very good and the soup dish very generous a, carrot cake ordered as shared portion because it looked so good , and it was !!!!!
Would revisit anytime.
One of the best Sunday lunch I've ever had, generous portion, resonable prices, lovely people ❤️
What a fabulous pub in a beautiful setting. The food was excellent, we turned up on burger night which on there own would have been the best part. However, the chips were amazing old school chip shop style crispy outside with a soft juicy centre the chips alone are worth the journey
Lovely pub. Friendly and welcoming staff who make you feel like nothing is too much trouble. Very nice facilities and thoughtful details such as a jar of dog food treats at the bar. Delicious food. Would definitely recommend. As two very hungry, tired and cold people who had been camping nearby, thi
Lovely village pub. The owners are so friendly and mice and make you feel welcome. So glad they came back to run it again! I always like to stop here when I visit the area. Lovely location next to the river watching the ducks. Highly recommended
The food really lovely best chips tasted like they home made.
The view and location are good too. Staff really friendly.
I stayed here for two nights, I specifically chose this place as I like to mix with locals, get involved and chat, this is the place for that, really enjoyed it all.
I had the pizza on Saturday night and it was really light and crispy just how I wanted it. The breakfasts are great aswell, they hand
Went for a wonder with my two labs just to find it really. Job done found the pub and stopped for a drink. The dogs loved going for a dip in the river while I had a drink on the terrace... going back tomorrow for lunch. Loved our visit that much.👍
The pub is in an idyllic setting. The food was excellent value. Very comfortable surroundings and a warm welcome. We'll worth a visit
Stopped here for a Sunday Carvery and what a find. Amazing food, cooked to perfection and plenty of it. Location is idyllic and staff friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault the place at all, would highly recommend.
Stayed 2 nights for a nearby wedding and the service couldn't have been better, Al and Janet are great hosts and were so accommodating. Reasonably priced and a lovely atmosphere
Amazing Sunday dinner with a well kept pint of black sheep. Very comfortable place with a spot on welcoming service. Highly Recommend
Oh my, where to start ! very friendly staff, nice congenital atmosphere, clean toilets (a must for me). I had the Lamb, locally sourced, farm and farmer named on menu, can't be bad. The lamb was cooked to perfection, falling apart moistnest. His lordship had the beef, equally as good. Accompanied by
Having a lovely stay here for a wedding. The owners have thought of everything to make our stay as cosy as possible. The place is very quaint and cute. Would be more than happy to stay again and would highly recommend.
Lovely food and cider, really friendly staff. Great views of the river.
Very friendly staff. We dropped in one night and got a warm welcome. Dogs are allowed and the beer was great. As was the food which was all home made and locally sourced. Including some tasty vegetarian options.
Cosy traditional pub.
However, considering its at the bottom of a steep dip, make sure you're well tanked up, before walking home 😃
