Loved the lunch here... Staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly and the food was amazing. One of the best pies I've ever had!
Absolute gem of a find. From the exceptionally friendly and attentive staff to the beautifully home cooked food everything was amazing. Really good value for money and a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Will 100% be returning and recommending to friends.
We were staying in Laxton, so had to try the 2 courses for £20 deal, which by todays standards is very reasonable!
2 couples, we had Beef and Pork roast, all was really nice. Only slight criticism was needed more roasties and veg.
We had sticky toffee pudding with custard, which was a joy.
Doggy friendly too which is a bonus!
Amazing country pub, with great service, atmosphere, prices. The food was delicious, defo recommend 100%.

Quaint rural pub in Old and interesting village of Laxton, Nottinghamshire will definitely go again.
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome . Our rooms were beautifully clean and everything we needed provided . Our evening meal was superb and our waitresses were so polite and happy . We enjoyed 2 nights here and would def recommend.

A lovely pub. My son had the belly pork and I had blade of beef. Both meals were excellent and portion sizes good. Will definitely visit again and can recommend it.
Booked for a sunday very disappointed that food was not available and the bar closed at 6 no taxis s available . The accommodation is lovely and staff pleasant and helpful
Fantastic home cooked food. We had the belly pork to start, melt in your mouth. Blade of beef was delicious, and the steak pie was awesome. You needed your appetite for both main meals. Service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Definitely returning soon.

What a fantastic little gem, best food I've had out in a long long time, especially as I have coeliac disease, it was like a home cooked dinner and the staff were super friendly. Meals are great value for money.

Sam and the Dovecote can do no wrong! We had a lovely little private room but were never forgotten by the staff, who were all amazingly friendly. The food was incredible, decent portions and the desserts were *chef's kiss*. Great selection of beers and ales too. We can't wait to come back for their Pie nights!
Lovely pub. Good pub food with a nice atmosphere in an historic village.
The best homemade Beef and Ale pie I have ever had, with chips, gravy and mushy peas. Served with a pint of Landlord, heaven! Many thanks Sam and all the best in what must be tough times for pubs. We will definitely be back, hopefully soon.

A beautiful English village setting ideal for those who love walking in the surrounding countryside. The Room itself was spotless, lovely continental breakfast set up with fresh bread and milk. Comfortable bed with a great nights sleep. Thank you for a 10/10 experience. We can’t wait to be back again.
A fine rural establishment. The only pub, restaurant and rooms in the village. Great food and wines, attentive service friendly informed staff.

We went here for our after wedding meal, it was a fabulous choice. From the minute of arrival to leaving we could not fault anything, the food was sensational, clean plates all round. 1 persons comment was ' I've had a lot of pies, but this was the best by far!' (62 year old). Could not recommend high enough!!!! We will definitely be returning soon, even just for a drink, the surroundings are so peaceful.
