Balmakewan Farm Shop - Laurencekirk - Photo album

What a great find! We were on the way back from Aberdeen when we passed a sign for a farm shop and cafe. After traveling down a long farm road, we were pleasantly surprised to find a *beautiful* shop and cafe. The staff were so friendly and attentive, and the food: outstanding! A great selection tha
Finally visited, having passed the sign on numerous occasions and observed that we really should stop one day, and it did not disappoint. Just a short distance off the A90, so quite convenient, the drive down is a little rough, but not problematic. The building is lovely and it is really welcoming
We were desperate for a break from driving on the A90 and saw a road sign for this place. From our exit it was quite a drive but returning to the freeway it was much shorter. It appears to be a new building with lots of room with a deli, small bar room, several dining rooms and a gift shop with jam
Great place. Food tastes and homemade unlike other joints with bought in rubbish. Great coffee. Good service and a nice bolted on farm shop with cheeses, wines, beer etc. The overall site is great too.

You can park your car, and you can see their own deer right next to the restaurant. Very nice place, rec
Picked up some coffee here on the way to our holiday home, along with some freshly made salad items and pastries. Coffee was great and the food was well priced and clearly home made. Very tasty! Lovely building too with a nice bit to sit out the back.
Lovely quiet place to have lunch. Food is always excellent, service is polite and well run. Never had a bad meal, certainly the best eatery in Aberdeenshire
Visited this out of the way site and the food was excellent. Had the meat platter and everything was lovely. I found it slightly overpriced, which was my reason for no 5 star review. Would happily return without rushing back. Loved the deer herds in the adjacent fields! Staff were friendly but were
