This place is a jewel in the heart of Lancing. Lovely staff, great beer and a great crowd of locals with a real sense of community.
Great beer and a lovely atmosphere make this the best local I've known. You never know what interesting eclectic conversations you will be walking into, and it's easy to join in!!
First time visitor on 25/04/2018 made to feel most welcome from both staff and other patrons !! We’re moving to Lancing soon so will definitely be a regular visitor
The only one decent pub in Lancing no monks there, nice peoples, lovely ales, and easy to order food from the Capri next door. <3 our favourite for sure

Had a lovely glass of real ale in this super music setting. Enjoyed listening to the very fetching Folk in Adur music ensemble.

Proper ale & cider pub. Excellent choice of local brewers. In a nice and quiet spot, inside & out. Highly recommended

Pros: literally everything you want in a real pub. Not only a great selection of craft beers, but also an owner who knows and cares about what he sells.
A lively, friendly atmosphere, where other pubgoers will engage with you. Basically a house party with awesome drinks.

Friendly, comfortable pub with interesting photo's and artifacts serving very very good ale. Why only four stars? Too many five star reviews which should reflect 'cannot be improved' in my opinion. No business should stop trying to improve and it doesn't appear the Stanley will.

Great little watering hole wish I lived closer. Very friendly atmosphere and great to have a place this not loud and having flashing gambling machines dotted around. What a proper pub should be. Keep up the good work can't wait to pop in again
Really pleasant watering hole. Very good selection of drinks from ales thru to gins. Friendly vibe where you can actually converse without shouting over music! A few more plus points, games and books on hand and a policy of being able to bring food in to consume. One of my favourite places to relax in Lancing.
Lovely pub good atmosphere not sure why the smokers stand at the door under a canopy. Just ruins lovely evening walking through their smog. To get in the pub or restaurant next door.

Lovely "front room" style pub, completely unexpected and out of keeping with the more dour Lancing surroundings. Focus on real ale, with knowledgeable staff and well kept beers. A real oasis in the desert.
Very nice pub with a great range of local beers. Visited many times and never had a dodgy pint, and always something new to try. Bar staff have always been friendly and knowledgeable.
A great place to go if you appreciate different ales. Not the greatest selection if you don't but staff are welcoming and friendly. Quiz night on a Thursday is always busy too and a good laugh.
