On Saturday I had without fail the best day of my life, I became Mrs Brown! Nothing comes close to how I felt that day. The reason it was so special was that the Lanchester Garden Centre was our amazing venue. The co-ordination, support and care given leading up to our wedding was fantastic and made me feel that everything would run smooth. The surroundings were so picturesque and stunning and we are so happy with some of the sneak preview photos we have received. The food was absolutely beautiful and executed in such a professional but warm and happy manner by all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble to anyone (especially restaurant manager Nicolas) and they went the extra mile with the young children that were part of our party. I cannot recommend this place enough for not just a wedding venue but a very special gem of a place to spend with friends and family! Just perfect xxx
Just discovered the new Mediterranean BBQ area - brilliant!! Great halloumi and veg burger with salad and a glass of Prosecco with a view to die for and they take cards! What’s not to like?!
Love this place! Amazing setting, with the best products on offer in both the garden centre & shop. The restaurant is fab, with a great selection of delicious food Can easily spend a few hours here with the family!
Excellent food and staff, may i also add so reasonably priced for such quality food. They have just started doing an outdoor BBQ which is the best thing on a sunny day.
Fantastic day in the private room with lovely friends. Food was excellent and the staff were courteous and catered for all our needs. Coulsnt fault any part of this establishment. Cakes are to dur for gift shop stocks beautiful gifts and the garden centre has everything u need and more. Woyld certainly recommend this to everyone xx
What a fab place a must to go and visit, so much more than a garden centre a hidden treasure
Went today for a treat for our Dad for Father’s Day. Although we hadn’t booked in advance they made my Dad the Gentleman’s afternoon tea, he loved it. Food delicious. Gaby was an absolute star and talked to our little boy about all different things and nothing was too much trouble. Will be back
Had a lovely visit had an issue in the restaurant with my little boys allergies there was nothing on the dessert menu so they went and got him something out the gift shop that was suitable honestly they went above and beyond so lovely will definitely come aga thank you so much for everything you did for us it really was appreciated xxx
What a great afternoon we had at the Trolls tea party. My little 3 year old was a little shy at 1st but with some encouragement from staff & Poppy she soon felt comfortable & really enjoyed herself & was a little emotional when it came to a end. The event itself was a great size & not oversold like some events Iv been to. The afternoon tea was great & the set menu was great with lots of choices for my little one to choose from. Great value for the money. The garden centre it self has been well thought out for young & old. Staff where fantastic & welcoming. Thank you for providing my little girl with a Trolltastic time that we can cherish. X
Really lovely
Such a nice welcoming place. Really well presented. The coffee shop / restaurant area is gorgeous. The staff were lovely and so friendly and helpful.
The food was amazing. We had full English breakfast and poached eggs on toast. All quality food.
There are loads of gifts and seasonal decorations etc.
One of the best garden centres around
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A little bit of a drive to get too but was worth it .
I hadn't read up much about I and only wanted to visit aquarium section as my son loves fish but wow its a great little place with a cafe (tad expensive) and very busy . It has take away which was much better priced and good menu with some lovely cake and coffee yum .
If all that wasn't good enough it has a full blown mini zoo at the back which didn't cost too much and a huge play area for kids which I'm sure my boy will love when he is bigger 😯
Would 100% recommend as a full day out for family's .
Such a beautiful place!
I came to Lancaster Garden Centre for a bit of shopping for my garden. There is a huge selection of plants, trees, flowers, garden furniture, tools, everything you could possibly need! I was having so much fun until I came across the animal hut and I just froze with delight. The setup is just AMAZING. You feel like you are walking through a rain forest with birds flying freely around you and there is a rain system that randomly comes on. My husband and I got a bit wet but it was so worth it! It honestly felt like we were in a tropical country.
There are reptiles, ducks, parrots, budgies, fish, beautiful ponds, it is just fantastic to walk around.
There is another section dedicated to birds of prey where there are gorgeous owls and talkative cockatoos. I wasn't even aware there are indoor and outdoor play areas for kids! We walked past it all and saw all the children having a whale of a time.
After a walk around, we finished our garden shopping, had a walk through the aquatic section and headed for some lunch.
The restaurant is very nice! I got an afternoon tea and my husband got fish and chips. The food was so good, it finished the day off perfectly. A member of staff who we kept bumping into and asking for advice for certain plants, care etc. came over to us at the table and asked how we managed with everything. She was super helpful and friendly, it was so nice of her to check up on us before we left and made sure we had everything we needed as we are very novice gardeners now!
The staff in all, lovely people, happy to help and all had a smile on their face.
The whole experience from start to finish is a 10/10 for me and my husband. We will be back!
Lovely place to visit. There are the usual garden elements you can expect from any garden centre but there is also an aviary and various reptiles and fish to see, too. Don't go on a hot day as no air con in the indoor sections and it was stifling.
There is also an art gallery but this was closed the weekend that I visited so cannot comment on that.
Staff very nice and happy to help.
There is a gift shop with lots to choose from and beyond that is a restaurant. For us this was only 'okay' as for one thing the chair cushion was covered in bits of food and the table had A LOT of crumbs and food and just general dirt stuck underneath the glass top (inbetween where it attaches to the wicker base). Unfortunately I think this is a design flaw and is probably difficult to clean but it doesn't give a great initial impression.
Food itself was ok - I had soup of the day which was leek (not blended well and more of a big lump of shredded leek in a bit of liquid) the tuna bun was nice, though.
One thing I was very happy with was the fact they have a feeding room which has 2 seats, a table between, a sink and a changing station. I was able to happily change and feed my baby in here without interruption which was great.
Overall recommend, worth a trip!
Lovely Gem of a place ! My new go to place to visit and eat👏
Found via Facebook mainly because it’s dog friendly 🐶 which is a massive plus for us as we can’t leave our pup Jasper.
Restaurant is more than just a garden centre restaurant and surpassed my expectations due to comfort, decor, efficient and attentive staff who made us feel very welcomed with our pup. Thought Jasper might end up going home with the manageress😀 it’s was a pleasure chatting to you , you run a great ship ! Staff were prompt and the food was gorgeous, catering for intolerances too , must say compliments to the chef , we ate hot beef roll and cheese scone , plus doggy sausage for Jasper from the doggy menu 👏👏 he wolfed them down too 🐶🐶
This place has an abundance of gifting , and I will defo be buying some Christmas gifts here ! Also take away food ( which we did )
There is plants and other attractions all wheelchair friendly. Big car park and parking right outside the door if need be.
See you soon 🙂🐶
Fell in love with this garden centre ❤️ Lovely welcoming staff and there's a lot see & do! It's definitely a day trip out or a quick pop by location! 😊 Will certainly be back to the restaurant and to see the animals they have on site! Ohh and they have an ice cream place which looked delicous! DOGS WELCOME except in 'potters world' (live animals) - they have a lot of treats to be had also! Brilliant for the whole family!
Spent a very nice afternoon here walking round the shop, little zoo, gardens and play area.
We had lunch in the green house tea rooms, the food was very nice and the tea rooms had a good atmosphere with children's play area. I thought the food was very good value, and the staff were very pleasant.
The gardens are very well maintained with a lovely little bird hid looking over a pond.
The garden centre shop is a little bit disorganised and it is very difficult to find what you are looking for but still interesting to walk around.
The little zoo / animal part is great.
The whole place is very dog and child friendly so worth a visit with the family.
Nice play area and food in the cafe is lovely. I particularly like the range of toys in the gift shop, it's not the same stuff you see everywhere for the kids.
Play area has a nice range of imaginative play which made had the kids interacting with each other and making new friends.
We haven't been in ages and it's huge! The ice cream is amazing, didn't try the cafe as it was busy, £4 to get into the mini zoo which has all sorts in it. Killed 2 hours and could have stayed longer if we didn't have plans.
Visited 3 times recently. Got some lovely plants and a half price blackcurrant bush. The animal section is great for kids. The restaurant was really good, service was great and the food was lovely (our Jack Russell Neil thoroughly enjoyed his sausages).
A little gem will definitely be going back
