Lovely restaurant with nice decor. It's my first time here, I had nachos for a starter, it was served on an iron cast. The rest of dishes were duck breast (Asian food), Sydney's steak sandwich and fisherman's board. The food was well presented. The staff was polite and helpful. It was an enjoyable experience.

This is the first time we've been in and was just going to have a drink, but the barman told us how good the food is, showed us a menu and directed us to the roof garden. It was tranquil on a sunny evening and we couldn't resist trying the food. Monday is a main meal and a pint for £15. We had the steak and the burger. My steak was amazing - a definite 12 out of 10, cooked and seasoned to perfection. We only left the roof garden when the sun went in. The staff were so helpful and friendly and made us feel so welcome. They were really careful with allergies and cross contamination. My only feedback is there was a shortage of vegan food on the menu, no vegan pizzas or mains, so if this could be added then there would be something for everyone. I can't wait to visit again and I've already told all my friends about it.

Very lovely place worth a visit really nice food. Will definitely go back my only complaint would be that staff need to be a little more mindful about clearing the table after finishing food.

A hidden gem. Great atmosphere, delightful food and selection of drinks. Cocktails, yummy. Wonderful, helpful staff. Really enjoyed being able to sit on the sun terrace located on the top floor. Private and a sun trap with a heater for when it got a little chilly. We will definitely be returning, soon.

Any alias fans will be calling this Sydney Bristow's instead of Sydney's bistro but whatever you call it you will be coming back although it's a well kept secret for now. Thankfully zissis was short staffed so their half full restaurant couldn't accommodate 2 adults and 2 children as a walk in on a Monday evening but Sydney's could. I walk past every day on my commute so was aware of the fresh food deliveries and the small plate interesting menu so it was on my to do list and very pleased I made it in. The lighting the music and the service (and the posh bathrooms) were all spot on. Children's fish and chips x2 with crushed buttery minty peas on the side was very well received as were the chocolate brownies. We had the nachos (boiling) on a cast iron dish with guac and sour cream sides to share to start. My personal taste could have added a chilli or two to the hot tomato salsa. We had 4 small plates and 2 sides for mains. Particular highlights were the beetroot and cashew side salad, the truffle and parmesan fries (called aspen fries) the satay chicken skewers from thigh meat (uncle Roger would be proud) and a couple of interesting cheese dishes. I actually enjoyed the food so much I forgot to take many photos. Everything was delicious and if chef pushes themself out there a bit more with the menu will get even more diners in. Sydney's is very much in the same arena as much heralded and delicious Plau in Preston. For now though it's a bit of a hidden gem but I doubt there are many diners leaving unhappy. Also got to mention a very good Portuguese white by the glass and the tiny micro herbs in the salads and I think it was lemon verbena on the chocolate tart. We will be back just hope that it stays a secret for a bit longer!

Beautiful place with flagstones on the ground floor. We had a table for 2 upstairs which was tastefully decorated, with no music no TV just quiet conversation delightful. Simple menu including tapas, pizzas, burgers, and platters amongst other vegetarian, meat, and fish dishes. I chose a hot roasted vegetable salad: caramelized red onions, goat's cheese, butternut squash, beetroot bulbs, and tender stem broccoli cooked in subtly spiced olive oil with added chicken which was not only hot on arrival but delicious too. My husband chose the goat's cheese pizza which he reported to be hot and very tasty. Both meals were perfectly portioned. Highly recommended far better than the high street restaurant chains close by. Now added to our 'must go back' list. Not cheap but not stupidly expensive. Thank you for the warm welcome and attentive service.

We had the fish and chips and I have to say they were very nice indeed. Good size portions with a twist on the mushy peas. Excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. Will most definitely be returning.

The venue is lovely, the decor is nice too and versatile, perfect for a relaxed lunch date or an occasion meal out. The service was pleasant and the food was tasty, well priced and a great menu. The only criticisms are that the mackerel pate had multiple bones in and the cocktail hadn’t been double strained so it had lumps of ice in, other than that a lovely experience! Would visit again

Lovely place. Fresh food and lovely service. Had a very nice conversation with one of the waitresses. She was absolutely lovely! They’re relatively inexpensive. Offer great seafood and a much bigger selection of other things like sandwiches and cocktails. The Bramble was excellent! Highly suggest this place! Mood lighting and clean place. Go here!

Absolutely loved it! Decided to try out their new lunchtime menu. Came in and was greeted by a very friendly waiter who enquired if we were having drinks or food. Picked where we wanted to be seated and started to look over menus, which were already on the table. Drinks order was taken promptly, I decided to go for my all-time favourite, a chicken cesar salad and the other person's order was the confit of duck with cous cous salad. We both shared some bread and dipping oil to start. Despite the waiter being the only one serving the tables, he was so polite and chatty even though it was starting to get busy. The breads served to start where very nice, they came with oil and balsamic, house made hummus and a house made butter, nice and not too much to spoil our actual lunch. The lunch itself was outstanding, I've tried a lot of cesar salads and this one has to be the best one I've had, the chicken was so incredibly juicy, not too much dressing, house made croutons were just right. The egg was exactly how I like it, fresh anchovies and a good amount of salad. The duck dish I did try some of the duck and again very moist and flavoursome, I could taste Chinese 5 spice, the dish looked very nice and again the right amount served, the person with me said it was the best duck dish she has had. We both certainly agree we will 100% be back, and I don't doubt it'll be very soon!
