Cakes in Bistro Barberet & Bakery delicious, tender and, what is very important, they are not cloying. Their variety in structure and taste is great, so any person who comes to this bakery will be able to choose what he likes. The latte is excellent. The service staff is polite and knows all the products well. Thank you very much to all the workers and owners of Bistro Barberet & Bakery for the fact that they respect people.

Had a great experience at Barberet! Food was excellent. They offered a prix fixe menu for the restaurant week. For $50 I chose raclette to start, boeuf bourguignon for the main and azur cake for dessert. Topped it off with great conversation and a cappuccino. Growing up French, these meals brought me back to my roots and still accommodated for my celiac disease by offering gluten free options and food choices which were naturally gluten free! Highly recommend this location if you love authentic French cuisine which is well done! Bravo bistro Barberet! 👏🏼

First time here, certainly will not be the last time. Conveniently located in the downtown area, not far from many of the restaurants and the Central Market. Amazing variety of different pastries to choose from. The croissants that we purchased were light and fluffy and absolutely delicious. The staff was attentive and accommodating to all our questions.

Food is always delicious and service is attentive without being interruptive. The restaurant is actually behind a bakery and has a calm intimate atmosphere. Highly recommend visitng the bakery in the front to select a few cakes to have brought to your table. Would highly recommended coming here for a date night or even as a nice dinner with friends!

Food great except the term rack of lamb was misleading...they were lamb lollipops. The salmon was delicious. Desserts we took with us were incredible. Our server was great and very informative. The place is a little confined and rather dark. You hear everyone's conversations. We never dined there before but we will come back as the food and the staff were top notch.

The best tasting pastries and sweets in the area and they’re all beautifully done! My family knows that when it’s my birthday they must only buy from here and no where else. I’ve not dined in the restaurant yet but I will soon and I’m sure it’ll be just as fabulous. Thank you and keep up the great work guys!

Our dinner here on New Years Eve was PERFECT. We had early reservations and arrived earlier than expected. We were seated at a very comfortable table, and our server was spectacular. Their cocktails are amazing. I had the Vanilla Chai. It tasted like an adult Vanilla Milk Shake but not as thick. From the French Onion Soup, Appetizers, Dinner and Dessert with Cappuccino.... everything had so much flavor and was worth every penny spent. My husband had the 72 hr Short Rib. It was cooked perfectly. I had the pan seared salmon. It was also cooked perfect and was the best I ever had. We shared two desserts. No wonder Cedric won Chopped Sweets. His quaint pastries are beautiful as they are delicious. The atmosphere is chic, lovely, quiet, and quaint. You have to walk through their beautiful bakery past the colorful bountiful pastries towards the back to get to the Bistro. Don't mistake this place for other places upstairs. When you go, allow for enough time to sit and relax. It's not a place you want to go if you're in a rush. You'll want to take it all in, relax, have a drink, and dine in and have dessert. When you're ready to leave, don't forget to take something home from the bakery. Rosie, our server was sweet. She was knowledgeable of the menu, answered all our questions, and was very attentive. Can't wait to come back and dine in again. It's great for any occasion, whether a Birthday, Anniversary, or Date Night. Go! You won't be disappointed.

Service was very friendly and helpful. Especially in selecting from all of the options. I felt the pastries were reasonably priced compared to the market and what you're getting Between 4 macaroons and a pumpkin pastry, absolutely delicious! Highly recommend

Lovely french restaurant in downtown Lancaster. Great French food, service is great, and cute location inside. Also, I highly recommend the coffee ice cream!!! It was a small scoop, but one of the most flavorful and memorable ice creams I've ever tried before. I'm not sure if they always have this flavor or if it's a rotating flavor. But overall, I definitely recommend this place for a nice fancy restaurant in downtown Lancaster.

My husband and I were walk-ins on a Thursday evening. There were a good number of people present in the open space, but thanks to the sound dampening panels, the acoustics were great- we could easily hear each other. We shared escargot for an app (a first for us) which was tender and garlicky. My Parisian cocktail was delicious and balanced. For entrees we had the steak frites- best damn fries, and the most tender hanger steak. The dessert selection is incredible- it was so hard to choose from the beautiful and delectable choices. We will definitely return for dinner again!

If you want dessert that is full of flavor, made with love and have every detail on every piece of dessert be perfect... This is the place to go! Everything was PERFECTION! I went to this place 3 times in one week after I tried them the first time. The staff was so kind and was very helpful about explaining what each dessert was. Everything I ate here I LOVED! I would highly suggest this place to anyone that has a sweet tooth, and want perfect bite size pieces at a reasonable price. Don't miss out on them gem!

Wow. Amazing dinner in all aspects. Flatbread appetizer, oysters, onion soup with gruyere, mussels, and hanger steak were delicious. Even the fries were perfect. Service and atmosphere also top notch. Highly recommend. Wish we could have tried more items on the menu. If we're in this area again in the future will definitely come back.

I went to this place reading the reviews and I can assure you, YOU will love it. The service is 10/10, the ambiance is 10/10 and the deserts are a 10/10 aswell. The price is definitely on the higher end but worth every penny. Will definitely visit again!!

I went to visit this place for the pastries but I decide to dine-in because of the time. I order the salmon and it was exquisite. They served it in light sauce with vegetables and nuts, it was incredible. So while I was waiting for my dinner I went back to the pastries which are really on the entrance of the store; I really wanted to take one of each but I just got like 5 of them. They are amazing, their flavors are so reach and unique, so if you have a sweet tooth like me, this the the place to go. I'm going back soon to taste the rest!!

I went here recently with my lovely girlfriend and had a great time. Everyone was so kind and the food was incredible. But the main event had to be the bartender David. He was the truth! He was very helpful and a great bartender at that. Give my man a raise and then another one right after that one. Check this place out. I recommend it.

We went for our anniversary and let me tell you the food is amazing. We started with escargot and a Ceaser salad , and for our entrees we had the hanger steak and the shrimp and scallops with couscous just so many colors and flavors in your mouth must try it! And let me tell you about the best creme Brule ever so delicate and delicious!! The service needs to improve, plates should be removed right away but don't let that hold you back!

You can’t leave Lancaster City without stoping here first. Me and my family were just about to give up looking for a place to eat before we had to leave town, when we stumbled across this gem. HI STAFF! You guys were so kind to us and made us feel so comfortable and cared for, by far one of the best dining experiences I’ve had (considering it was impromptu seating). The food was so authentic, and they even cut it into portions that we could share! Just a pleasant experience overall, worth every penny. P.S. Please please please tell me that I left my backpack here, it is red and black and I love it dearly 🤍
