Well what can I say. The service even though super busy was amazing, when you get staff no matter how against the wall that STOP PAUSE then give you their undivided attention your going to give high praise indeed. The food fish and chips in a quaint bit of news paper and the superbly cooked and well presented lamb steak well 10/10 , and my Mrs is hard to please so again praise indeed. And then even though there was a wait .... the sublime plumb crumble and custard that hit the spot ... DEFINITELY will be visiting again

Very friendly pub/hotel in the centre of town. There is a lovely room at the front with comfortable sofas then you pass through to the dining area and on to quite an attractive little garden area at the rear. They serve food every day 12-9pm and their real ales are very good. We went there for a meal on a June Sunday evening and it was very quiet. We were pleasantly surprised to find they were still serving Sunday roasts in the evening and the roasts were very good.

I've been staying at The Borough regularly for a little over 4 years. And I have never been disappointed. The food is top-notch, the choice of drinks is extensive with a capital 'E', and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Always willing to please.

We ordered a couple of sides each to share which were nice and hot . The service was good until we ordered a sweet and unfortunately after waiting 25 minutes we had to leave without it. There wasn't a problem as it was removed from the bill. On the whole good experience although there were a group of very noisy people in too

everything was excellent. the hotel is awesome, with high level service, in the best location, incredible breakfast, amazing pub, daily cleaning and all this for an incredible price. the only downside was the bed mattress in room 6. needs changing.

Great place to eat and drink. The food is very good locally sourced and cooked to perfection. Great selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks available. You can dine In the back restraunt area or up front in the large bar area if you proffer. Low tables, high tables and also comfy sofa areas so plenty of choices wether you're just drinking or going out for food.

Great pub, lovely food and service, dogs welcomed. Have recently had both breakfast and dinner there, plenty of choice for veggies. Lots of character and plenty of sofas to cosy up in with a pint!

From start to finish, we had the most perfect stay. Everything was faultless. The welcome, the service, the room, the food, drinks, breakfast, location, and the pub itself are all wonderful. Special shout out to our friendly breakfast waitress and our fabulous housekeeper who made such a lovely fuss of our little Cockapoo, Biscuit. We are already planning our return visit.

My wife and I called for lunch on Monday 4th September. We cannot fault the food, the time taken and especially the service. We've eaten there before and will definitely eat there again.

Just want to thank the borough and its amazing staff who organised a small funeral buffet for my family and I today . We were so looked after and the staff even set the buffet out for us in the garden as the weather was nice . The buffet was plentiful and delicious and set out beautifully. Special thanks to molly who was so attentive throughout. Thanks to all x

We had lunch in this large characterful place close to the city centre. It has a great Victorian interior with lots of comfortable armchairs and sofas. A great place to spend some time with friends.

Absolutely amazing, the staff are so welcoming. Food was spectacular and was right in the centre of town. Most importantly, the wee dug was made to feel like a celebrity.

Loved our stay this Easter break! Friendly staff, comfy rooms, lovely bathrooms and shower and delicious, great quality breakfast (big portions too). Would definitely stay again if we were to return to Lancaster.
